Sunday Dugout Discussion – Gameweek 5

23 September 2012 2352 comments

Akers

A huge day of Premier League action sees eight sides do battle, with the ‘Super Sunday’ billing fully justified. The Dugout Discussion opens in time for the first of two televised games – the small matter of Liverpool versus Manchester United.

Despite a lot of the pre-game media attention understandably focusing on events off the field, three points for either side here will be massive. Here’s how the sides line-up…

Liverpool XI: Reina, Kelly, Skrtel, Agger, Johnson, Gerrard, Allen, Shelvey, Borini, Suarez, Sterling.

Man United XI: Lindegaard, Da Silva, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Carrick, Giggs, Valencia, Kagawa, Nani, van Persie.

Straight after the game at Anfield, we head over to the Etihad Stadium to see the other Manchester club host Arsenal.

In and amongst those two fixtures, Newcastle United welcome the visit of Norwich City, and Queens Park Rangers take the small journey to their city rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

You can follow all the action from all today’s games in our Dugout Discussion chatroom, which can be accessed right here.

He was crap except for the penalty. Can't tell if the fact that he played horribly and still got 6 points is a good reason to sell him or keep him?

well the scouting that teams do on him is, give him acres of space and extra man mark somewhere else...Everton did this and all other teams followed suit. He's harmless with his foot these days...unless he's tackling you...

  1) Has played a lot of football lately

  2) Aguero back from injury

  3) Dzeko in form

Given those facts, why not play Tevez with Dzeko? He didn't play full season last year. He can run for another 90, feed off the home crowd. Oh well...

because Mancini knows that a team like Arsenal will redline a player like Tevez. He won't work harder this year to get and keep the ball. Do you really want to break a player like him at this point in the season?
