A huge day of Premier League action sees eight sides do battle, with the ‘Super Sunday’ billing fully justified. The Dugout Discussion opens in time for the first of two televised games – the small matter of Liverpool versus Manchester United.

Despite a lot of the pre-game media attention understandably focusing on events off the field, three points for either side here will be massive. Here’s how the sides line-up…

Liverpool XI: Reina, Kelly, Skrtel, Agger, Johnson, Gerrard, Allen, Shelvey, Borini, Suarez, Sterling.

Man United XI: Lindegaard, Da Silva, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Carrick, Giggs, Valencia, Kagawa, Nani, van Persie.

Straight after the game at Anfield, we head over to the Etihad Stadium to see the other Manchester club host Arsenal.

In and amongst those two fixtures, Newcastle United welcome the visit of Norwich City, and Queens Park Rangers take the small journey to their city rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

      Evra shoud have been booked for his challenge on Sterling (I think) but that does not excuse Shelvey.

      That challenge has no place on a football pitch and deserved a straight red.

      Luiz should have walked yesterday too, if that's any consolation. But two wrongs don't make a right and Shelvey made 2 rash challenges in the space of a few seconds, the latter of which could have ended Evans' season when it has barely just started.

              Evans never impacted into Shelvey's shins though.

              Seriously, you cannot have any complaint whatsoever about that Shelvey red card, man. Its as blatant a red as you will see all season long if you watched every minute of every game from now until Armageddon.

                Not complaining about Shelveys red card but Evans should have gone. Does not matter about contact you can go for intent and he went in two footed.

    Liverpools attack on the ball has been good but they needed to score.........United will win from here. Johnson and Suarez look dangerous though and the kid Sterling is lively

          Evans went in two-footed. Just because Shelvey is Shelvey and because he didn't roll around like Evans is irrelevant. 2 reds or 2 yellows. United bias by refs - as per every year.
