Since arriving at Arsenal from Malaga during the summer, Santi Cazorla has added his name to a raft of attacking midfielders Fantasy managers have been keeping a close eye on. As with the likes of the Premier League’s other new attacking recruits such as Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Manchester United’s Shinji Kagawa, though, there was always an element of doubt before the season got under way; could these prestigious talents sparkle in the English top-flight and, as the old saying goes, were they able to cut it on a rainy Tuesday night match at Stoke?

Certainly from his opening two games, Cazorla’s talent was no longer in question as his slick passing and eye for goal from distance left Arsenal fans delighted and Fantasy managers licking their lips in anticipation of a flurry of points. From a Fantasy perspective doubts still remained, though, as his magnificent attacking play failed to unlock the Sunderland and Stoke defences as the Gunners registered back-to-back goalless draws.

In the Gameweek 3 trip to Liverpool, the flood gates opened and at last his potential as a key Fantasy asset was realised when the playmaker produced a goal, assist and two Fantasy Premier League (FPL) bonus points to amass a Gameweek total of 13 points. A further assist for Cazorla followed in the Gameweek 4 demolition of Southampton, with yet another assist, plus two FPL bonus points, in last weekend’s 1-1 draw at the Etihad. By now the writing was well and truly on the wall for Cazorla, who has arrived in a burst of Spanish flair as a proven force to be reckoned with in the Premier League.

For the savvy Fantasy managers, who have been watching Cazorla’s underlying attacking statistics closely during the first part of the season, Gameweek 7 has long been pencilled in as Santi day, when Arsenal’s tough opening fixtures come to an end. After this weekend’s home clash with Chelsea, the prospects look full of promise for strong attacking returns for the Gunners throughout the rest of October (whm, nor, QPR).

There is even strong argument for drafting him in ahead of this run to catch Cazorla before his price rises even further. Initially costing 9.0 in FPL, he has already climbed by 0.3, with over 28,000 Fantasy managers snapping him up this week. There is every chance Cazorla, who is Arsenal’s top points scorer in the FPL game with 30 points, will also be able to unlock a resolute Chelsea defence.

In the Sky Sports game, where he is priced at 6.7m, he is also set to be a key asset having already amassed 43 points, the second highest among the game’s midfielders. In the Sky game Cazorla is arguably even more desirable as bonus points are awarded for successful passes, just one of a number of attributes the bedazzling little Spaniard possesses.

    Chris Young ‏@YoungSunEcho

Adam Johnson rested from training today, could be a slight doubt for Sat. Bramble, Cuellar and JOS all trained today though

Oh dear JK, it's all gone Pete Tong.

                Jelavic:
"Everton could find themselves without their star forward for anything from two to eight weeks, although current rumours on Twitter suggest it’s at the bottom end of that scale."
                Near enough correct.

                Cuellar:
"He does not appear injured and if not dropped, I’d personally expect him back this weekend."

He was wrong on Cuellar by being too optimistic, gave you no reason to ditch.

You can't blame Facer. His articles are great but you can't take them as gospel. He's only going buy what he's seen on TV and manager comments (which are often misleading)

It's your own fault you got rid of them.

Because you were wrong and then trying to blame Facer, who was actually pretty close to correct. He clearly put alot of effort into it and was pretty spot on, then you go attempting to blame him for your own mistake.

    Hi guys.

First post! Please help a brother out:

Is it worth doing Dembele > Pienaar for a 4 pointer? Feels like my team needs way too much work atm... Also, 2.1 in the bank.

    Rest of team:

    Foster / Cerny
    Williams / Clichy / Jenkinson / Ivanovic / Clyne
    Dembele / YayaT / Noble / Hazard / Kagawa
    Ba / Suarez / Tevez

    Thanks

I don't think Dembele is a very good fantasy prospect and Pienaar really is. But will Pienaar score more than 4 points more than Dembele? Unlikely. You might break even on it.

Adam Johnson rested from training today, could be a slight doubt for Sat. Bramble, Cuellar and JOS all trained today though.

Anyone think Walters could be a shout out? I have 1.5 sitting there and I could upgrade Noble to Walters who has Swansea at home, then away to Liverpool & ManU (which I could easily bench him for) then

Really it depends if they are building value for the first 10 gw or so OR if they are playing for Highest Team Value. If its the former they could easily field very strong teams and see a string of green arrows. Most are playing for the latter though.

Comes down to whether Fellaini will keep playing up top as he has been or drop deep eventually, as many expected he would. Prevailing wisdom is that Moyes has realised how successful the team is with Screech up top and is doing everything he can to keep him there.

When he's up there, he wipes the floor with Pienaar, stats-wise. I got Fellaini but the minute he drops deep, he's out.

I went Pienaar when faced with the same dilemma yesterday. Comparison Tool shows them as Pienaar 47% +5 Key Stats and Fellaini 53% + 5 Key Stats. Fellaini has a 4pt advantage so far on total score. It came down to weekly contribution to my team and price. Pienaar at 6.7 scoring 3,10,2,7,6 seemed more of what I wanted as to Fellaini's 7.2 price tag and weekly contributions of 10,8,1,1,12. The 1's really tipped the edge to Pienaar for me.

Ive got a FT and 2.5 in the bank....worries about Morrisons fitness this week and have Guthrie as 5th mid...

    A) Tevez to Kun or Suarez
    B) Tevez to Lambert and Guthrie to Bale
    C) Tevez to Fletcher and Guthrie to HBA

Tevez > Kun if you must.

I'd suggest save it and do B next week for free (Bale has mun and Lambert has eve, whereas next week they have AVL and FUL)
