For a second week in a row, our Flutter ambitions were denied at the finishing line. Keving Nolan made his anytime goal, but The Hammers failed to keep Steven Fletcher at bay, whilst an on-fire Eden Hazard was seemingly doused by visitors Stoke City, even though The Blues back-line held firm for the cleanie. We’ve still a couple of tenners profit to play with, but as Paddy starts chipping away at our initial success, we need another decent ride or two to keep our noses in front…

Usually last out of the stalls, our new “Goal-Assist-Cleanie treble” is this weeks front-runner. Robin Van Persie’s hunger for goals has not been dampened by his summer transfer and makes up the first leg of our treble. Our second leg, the assist, comes from the rejuvenated Steven Pienaar. A bit-part player for Spurs, Moyes has made him pivotal to his Everton unit and he’s replied with a goal and three assists so far this term; we fancy him against the visiting Saints. A Sunderland clean-sheet makes up our final leg, and with four low scoring, hard-fought draws so far this season, we feel there’s a good chance of Martin O’Neill’s side keeping out visiting Wigan. Paddy are offering 20/1 for the treble on a Van Persie goal, Pienaar assist and Sunderland clean sheet, and we’re going with a “no guts, no glory” approach with this, throwing £5 on it to try and win £100.

While Pienaar has been on fire this term, it’s been Maouane Fellaini who has been simply irresistible. He’s dominated all but one of the five league games the Toffees have played so far, strong-arming players off the ball and terrorising opponents with his height and technique. If that wasn’t enough, he’s made his mark on the scoresheet, netting three in five. We’re hoping he’ll add to that this week by taking £2 on him to score and Everton to keep a cleanie against Southampton at 4/1.

As we’ve mentioned, Steven Fletcher spoiled our double last week by putting one passed Jussi Jasskelainen at the Boleyn. We’re hopefully turning villain into hero this time around as Fletcher is priced up to score and Sunderland to get a cleanie against Wigan at 9/2. He’s scored ALL of Sunderland’s goals this season so far, so this is a bet we really fancy. As we’ve gone for big risk big reward early on in the Flutter, we’ve only £2 to offer, but considering his scoring record we’re favouring this as our banker.

Last up is the tricky playmaker Santi Carzorla. Arsenal were initially a bit slow to get going but they’ve certainly built up momentum in recent weeks. A 6-1 win in the Capital One cup midweek and a similar scoreline against Southampton two gameweeks past has dispelled fears that without Van Persie, the goals would dry up. Carzorla’s managed three assists and a goal in the league and looks poised to maintain that rate. Paddy are dangling 11/1 for a Cazorla goal and a cleanie against league leaders Chelsea and we’ll have our final quid on that.

    That is it. Decided

    Foster
Baines (vc) - Ivanovic - Demel - Kompany
    Kagawa - Pienaar(c) - Michu - Cazorla
    Lambert - Tevez

Subs Maloney - Fonte - Berbatov

Not confident of a strong week mind. Think I will take out Tevez or Kagawa next week. Been looking to get HBA in seemingly for ages but other priorities keep coming up.

Pratik.. still trying to get Fellaini into my squad.

Can either get him in for Hazard/Bale for free, or take a hit Dyer->Fellaini and find 1.2 elsewhere.

    Any suggestions?

Dyer has fallen to 5.8, and fellaini is 7.1/2, so I guess you need a little more.

I had honestly say just stick with the team you have this week and bench Tevez/Dyer this week. On Saturday you can use your 2 FT's.

Morning all, not for a hit. Last year I got him in after a couple of good weeks, a run of 2pts followed, he cost me 0.7m as his price plummeted. We have history. Also he has pog-itis as in an unsustainable accuracy rate. But his fixture is great today and I think I'll try a new tactic of having a revolving third striker spot... With lambert ready and waiting.

I wouldn't be worried too much by Mancini's press conference. But Tevez should no longer be an FPL prospect for us, as 9.9 is way too much for someone who will be rotated. I expect him to play 2-3 games out of every 4, and I just don't think it's enough. And he is no longer an armband candidate as we will fear rotation every week.

Aguero is the striker I would want from City. Do you have money in the bank?

Doing a hit for a player who could score a brace is always difficult. With Berbs out I think CIty will win 3:1 or something. There is potential. I need to see more from Kun in order to buy him back. The problem with Mancini that he must win this one so he will start Kun and Dzeko. Tevez will be rested IMO. He started last season with that pairing. Bad news for us Tevez owners

The way I see it is this...

He controversially rested Tevez for the Arsenal game, a game which they didn't win... he subsequently explained to us his reasoning for that, which I accept as his truth...

Regardless of Tevez playing 120mins on Tuesday night, Mancini needs his best team out there to play Fulham, who at home are no mugs... with 3 draws already, he can't afford to fall further behind...

The 'comments he has made regarding Tevez along with the 'probably' part is just his way of limiting the exposure of his own culpability of his previous decision to rest him...

      My two cents...

I am sorry, LateRise, but I think it's immaterial whether City have great fixtures, or whether he was great value earlier. Things have clearly changed, and I don't see him as a great prospect now. Personally looking to get Aguero in.

My thinking is i will take 4 starts out of 6 for these fixtures:
        ful
        SUN
        wba
        SWA
        whm
        TOT

Aguero is the preferred one but accomodating RVP and Aguero in one team is a little difficult.

4 out of 6 is possible, expect a cameo in the other fixtures, also since you don't know when he's gonna start for sure, you can never give him the armband.

          It's a tough choice.

Hi guys just want some advice.

Is it ok to bench Tevez or is that madness? Im thinking cause he played 120 mins mid week right?

Ben Arfa, Gerrard, Nolan, Michu, Fellanni
    Van Persie Berbatov

    All keep him out.

So I am fortunate enough to only have to worry about the order of my bench, but share a thought.
The order currently: Olsson, Gorkss, Maloney

This might be a key decision with possible benchings for some players on my starting 11

    ...lost on last page.

    Begovic

    Baines / Cueller / S. Taylor

    Hazard / Pienaar / Morrison / HBA

    Tevez / RVP / Fletcher

Subs: Jussi / Guthrie / Demel / Gorrks

Not too concerned about Tevez (for this week at least).

Trying to end up with 2 FTs for after the International break, but considering Morrison to Hoillet as a bit of a punt – he’s got 0.9% ownership and looks like some decent fixtures.

The Tevez situation should be monitored. When you are sitting on a large profit, a knee jerk can prove very costly later on.

At some point Mancini has to figure out what his best side is and stick with it. They have good fixtures coming up so wait and see.

My 2cents worth I think this is their best side with all 3 playing down the middle, the full backs providing the width and the central mids filling the gaps.
