Eden Hazard was a Fantasy force of nature in the opening weeks of the season. The Belgian simply swept through defences with pace and trickery that tempted tackles and earned him a string of early assists. Huge Fantasy investment followed, making him the most sought after player in both the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) and Sky Sports games in the opening fortnight.

Since then, however, Hazard has dwindled as a source of points. Three consecutive blanks have offered scant reward for his investors and with the likes of Gareth Bale and Santi Cazorla now tempting acquisitions, Hazard’s owners are contemplating the merits of holding firm for a run of testing fixtures to come.

In this latest members article, we examine Hazard’s statistics over the opening three weeks and run a comparison with his recent form for both goal threat and creativity. Crucially, we also focus on Chelsea as a whole in an attempt to identify why the Belgian has declined and whether this indicates an immediate concern for his frustrated Fantasy owners…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

i have all "non 5 stars" strikers. Ba - Fletcher - Crouch. Ba is on the bench for euro league, so i guess he will 100% ready to deliver some trouble for M.utd defenders. Fletcher always scored so far, and sunderland almost beat M.city at etihad stadium last season with final result 3-3. While crouch hit reina with his goal on liverpool vs sunderland last season. Besides, crouch used to join liverpool for some season so i guess he is familiar with anfield,

This time last year I had done 10-12 transfers and was about 50 pts clear at the top of my friends/top league. I never looked back. Ended up winning the league by 120 plus points.

This year I have used a different, more cautious strategy, and missed out on big returns from the likes of Suarez last week, and Hazard after not having him from week one.

So far I have made 5 transfers and sit in 7th in my league, and seem to want numerous players each week that I dont have. I have a good core...Baines, Yaya, Pienaar, Bale (who granted, i bloody benched last week with Vert, which didn't help AT ALL), RVP....

I miss the wild splashing of pts to bring people in. It worked last year. Anyone else playing a different way this year? I listen to a lot of the advice I get on here and so far it seems to be a very cautious, hold back approach. I never jumped on Hazard, I never jumped on Michu, I still haven't got rid of Tevez, I haven't jumped on Cazorla.....

I want to go back to -4/-8 every other week and MAJOR differentials. Nolan two years ago was a beauty. Adam 2 years ago was a beauty. Brunt two years ago was a beauty. I have the eye (like many of you do), but so far like I have said already i've only done 5 transfers and sit way off the pace in my main league, and EVEN further back in my other big one. I know it's early but give me some advice.

I think im going back to the spending. Think about though.....''hmm give me advice do i take a 4pt hit to get Suarez and Bale in for Fletcher and Maloney'''

Ok...hypothetical but lets break that down. Potential 40 to even 50pt return with the use of the armband, or Fletcher away at City and Maloney v Everton who could combined, produce returns of 3-4pts with a yellow here or there.

So lose 4pts and gain 40/50
Lose no pts and return 3/4

I think im going back to spending each week.

Yea it was a scenario. I do have Fletcher, but not maloney. Just using those 4 people and that 4pt hit/move as an example.

I have Bale and want Suarez for the next two weeks, and would captain Bale over Suarez this week and consider Suarez next time out v Reading....wait...consider...no...do it.

I wouldn't dream of captaining Fletcher at City regardless of defensive issues for us at the moment, and would never captain Maloney or probably even have him in my team. Ramirez is only 6m.

Spending points on a hit is a gamble, sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesnt. The trick is to make the right bets. Some people never do hits but I like the occasional one when the chances of it paying off are high.

If you dont have Bale this week then dont get rid of Hazard for him. If you have Hazard and bale you should be salivating. They could get massive returns each, but I fancy Hazard to produce the goods over Bale. Bale could play left back, he could have an off day with so many captaining him, spurs could misfire as they so often do. Chelsea home vs Norwich could easily be 6 or 7 nil.

Id just to fletch to lambert.

Ben Arfa + Tevez > Bale (c) + Lambert for a -4 worth it? I have Ba for Newcastle cover.

        Yaya was a great YoYo

If the YoYo has fell off the string---it took Hazard with it.

You took the points when the Yaya was up

Imo pull the trigger and get....anyone else!

Hey guys. Trying to decide whether I need to make a change this week or just bank the extra FT.

    Current team:

    Jaaskelinen (ruddy)
    Baines, Jenkinson, Clyne (Demel, Rafael)
    Hazard, Sterling, HBA, Fellaini (Nolan)
    Tevez, RVP, Lambert.

    Any advice?

I would like to take this opportunity to thank fantasy UCL for disabusing me of the notion that I am any good at fantasy football. Helpfully cosseted by premier league advice on this site I can make a decent fist of FPL, but when left to do my own research about injuries and rotation for European teams I have been found wanting. I will never again underestimate how much help I get by hanging around here. Oh and the UCL site sucks a lot. That is all.

      Try Europa League fantasy
Loads of early kick offs and surprise line ups. More chance of winning the lottery.....without a ticket!

I think Lennon has improved this season. As does Roy Hodgsen judging by the England squad.

I don't have Bale or Suarez but am worried that this week one or both will rake in the points. But I also want to give one last chance to Hazard. so do I do

    A) Lescott-> Demel and Fletcher -> Suarez

Or go in a different direction and do

    B) fletcher -> Lambert.

I plan to do Hazard -> Bale in the subsequent game week.

    Appreciate all your views.
