With the Fantasy Premier League game brought into focus this morning, it’s time to turn our attention to our other supported Fantasy game, as we look at the current Scout rankings in the Sky Sports effort. We get some insight on the latest market trends and, of course, look ahead to another episode of Fantasy Football Club…

The Scout League

Little changes at the very top of the Scout League, as Paul Hennessy opens up the gap after Gameweek 6. He now leads the way by 22 points from Jonathan Lenharth, with Ben Salter tied with him for second on 317 points. Hennessy is now third in the race for the £25,000 first prize, 11 points off the lead in the overall game.

There are new names in fourth and fifth, with Chris Tuck and Ray Martin edging into the top echelons of our league. Scout contributor Andy slipped down from fifth to 11th this week and sits on 393 points overall.

With such high standards maintained, the Scout League stretched the lead in the Private League rankings and is now 13 points ahead.

A reminder that if you’re playing the Sky Sports game and have yet to join our league, you can sign up to the FFScout League with this Pin: 8004519.

Market Forces

This week’s movement in the market is interesting to say the least, with Carl Jenkinson sitting on top of the “transfers in” rankings over the past seven days. The Arsenal full-back has, of course, provided great value for his Fantasy managers across the games – in the Sky Sports game he is on top of the overall value rankings, offering 7.63 points per million on his 3.8 price tag. However, with Bacary Sagna expected to return to contention after the international break, Jenkinson will surely be pushed to retain his start.

The other names in the rankings are perhaps more understandable, with Marouane Fellaini, Santi Cazorla, Robin Van Persie and Demba Ba (who has now climbed on top of the value rankings for forwards) making up our top five. As for transfers out, Carlos Tevez has again seen the biggest loss of faith with almost 7% shedding the Argentine going into the weekend meeting with Sunderland. With Tevez leading the transfers out in the Fantasy Premier League this week but set to start at the weekend, there could be a wave of frustration building here.

Eden Hazard ranks second for transfers out and, again, he’s a player that will go into the weekend fresh and with a strong fixture. Clearly Sky Sports managers are losing faith with the early template players but, getting rid of both Hazard and Tevez looks a risk ahead of favourable home fixtures and likely starts.

Fantasy Football Club

Granville and I will be watching from the comfort of the lounge (not the same one) this week, having snuck into the studio for filming last Friday. This time around Fenners and Merse welcomes Anfield legends Robbie Fowler and Jason McAteer into the studio. Also, having tipped Luis Suarez going into last weekend, look out for the ITK’s input again this week.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Seeing as Berbatov isn't gonna play, switch him to Defoe for a FT? Not convinced about his long term prospects, mind.

      Begovic (Jaaskelainen)
Baines - Rangel - Cuellar (Saylor - Gunter)
Ben Arfa - Michu - Hazard - Pienaar (Sterling)
Van Persie - Tevez - Ba

Ben Arfa + Tevez ➡ Bale + Lambert (-4) sound good? Both absolute differentials in the top 5 of my ML. (I'm 2nd by 25).

I've thought this myself. It's not a bad option under normal circumstances, but with so many great fixtures for the big teams/players, this doesn't seem like a wise choice.

Grateful for your advice please, I have 1 FT and I’m considering 5 options:

          A) Lescott to A Cole

          B) Lescott to Baines

          C) Kagawa to Bale (c)

          D) Kagawa to Gervinho

          E) Save transfer and hope that Kagawa and one of Lescott/Ridgewell/McCartney play

I’m top of my league and my nearest rival has Cole and Ivanovic. The guy in 3rd place has Bale.

          De Gea – Jaasskelainen
Ridgewell, McCartney, A Williams, Hangeland, Lescott
          Kagawa, Hazard, Michu, Routledge, Nolan

I'm currently on RVP - SAF won't let them lose twice on the bounce and he's up against a leaky Newcastle defense that would have played midweek. Mind you, if they get a pen and Rooney takes it, I will be seething!

I could have Bale, Caz, Haz, Michu, and Pienaar right now if I want to (with a very nice strike force mind you) but what's the point when you know you'll have to bench someone. Weeks like this are rare, and you usually won't want to play EVERYONE. I'm holding off on Bale for now. It might bite me, but I know I'm making the smart choice relying on Haz, Caz, Pienaar, Michu, Tevez, Jelly, and Defoe to bring in the haul.

I'm thinking of WCing after the break, and going with 3 mid price strikers.

I actually like this better than the 11-13 strikers. You're less likely to get 12-20 point returns, but you're much more spread out for lower, more consistent point totals this way. You can't get flustered when the big boys rake in the points, though.

Well that's it, Torres captain. Can't be sure of Tevez starting, Hazard out of form, Cazorla away, RVP may be rested too, so it has to be El Nino vs Norwich... The thought is quite terryfying! But at least he will start so sure of 2 points ha ha 🙂

I was tempted on a one week punt there and wildcarding his ass out of there over the international break. If I owned him already, I'd definitely captain him!

But I doubt very much RVP will be rested.

There's always a chance of a yellow card 😉 Seriously though they're all good options, but I'd sooner have RVP captain ahead of Torres

I've been on RVP all week. What worries me if Torres gets a couple, and RVP is benched, my enjoyment of the game Sunday afternoon will be all gone as the agony of a 1 point bench captain becomes reality! I'd rather have Torres all done and dusted, take what comes, move on and chill out! 🙂

fair point, there's always that edge that comes with watching your captain play! I wouldn't say RVP is a risk at all though as Newcastle away is different kettle of fish to wigan at home. good luck either way

Repost from end of previous page -

Is this OK to save a transfer this week?

          Jussi (Federici)
          Clyne Baines Rafael (Gunter, Fabio)
Michu Cazorla Pienaar Ben Arfa (Kacka)
          Tevez RVP(c) Podolski

I know it needs work (all the subs need to go!) But am thinking first XI is OK enough this week to save a transfer for 2 freebies over international break - and also give me time to assess my targets and make better decisions on potential outs RVP/Tevez/Michu/Pienaar. I might even wildcard the week after the international break, so I figure I can sort out my deadwood then.

Sound plan or am I sitting on my arse when I should be being proactive and making changes?

Depends, I haven't seen an update on S Taylor / Coloccini yet but I haven't looked very hard.

I'd expect one of S Taylor / Colo to battle through, safe in the knowledge there is an international break to follow.

I'm currently on Hazard, but I'm torn between him and RVP. I'm in second place, and the guy above me has Hazard but not RVP. I think I'll keep it on Hazard though, ridicilous fixture and they've already demolished one weaker side this week. Good practice for the weekend.
