With the Fantasy Premier League game brought into focus this morning, it’s time to turn our attention to our other supported Fantasy game, as we look at the current Scout rankings in the Sky Sports effort. We get some insight on the latest market trends and, of course, look ahead to another episode of Fantasy Football Club…

The Scout League

Little changes at the very top of the Scout League, as Paul Hennessy opens up the gap after Gameweek 6. He now leads the way by 22 points from Jonathan Lenharth, with Ben Salter tied with him for second on 317 points. Hennessy is now third in the race for the Β£25,000 first prize, 11 points off the lead in the overall game.

There are new names in fourth and fifth, with Chris Tuck and Ray Martin edging into the top echelons of our league. Scout contributor Andy slipped down from fifth to 11th this week and sits on 393 points overall.

With such high standards maintained, the Scout League stretched the lead in the Private League rankings and is now 13 points ahead.

A reminder that if you’re playing the Sky Sports game and have yet to join our league, you can sign up to the FFScout League with this Pin: 8004519.

Market Forces

This week’s movement in the market is interesting to say the least, with Carl Jenkinson sitting on top of the β€œtransfers in” rankings over the past seven days. The Arsenal full-back has, of course, provided great value for his Fantasy managers across the games – in the Sky Sports game he is on top of the overall value rankings, offering 7.63 points per million on his 3.8 price tag. However, with Bacary Sagna expected to return to contention after the international break, Jenkinson will surely be pushed to retain his start.

The other names in the rankings are perhaps more understandable, with Marouane Fellaini, Santi Cazorla, Robin Van Persie and Demba Ba (who has now climbed on top of the value rankings for forwards) making up our top five. As for transfers out, Carlos Tevez has again seen the biggest loss of faith with almost 7% shedding the Argentine going into the weekend meeting with Sunderland. With Tevez leading the transfers out in the Fantasy Premier League this week but set to start at the weekend, there could be a wave of frustration building here.

Eden Hazard ranks second for transfers out and, again, he’s a player that will go into the weekend fresh and with a strong fixture. Clearly Sky Sports managers are losing faith with the early template players but, getting rid of both Hazard and Tevez looks a risk ahead of favourable home fixtures and likely starts.

Fantasy Football Club

Granville and I will be watching from the comfort of the lounge (not the same one) this week, having snuck into the studio for filming last Friday. This time around Fenners and Merse welcomes Anfield legends Robbie Fowler and Jason McAteer into the studio. Also, having tipped Luis Suarez going into last weekend, look out for the ITK’s input again this week.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I knew I should have waited an extra minute or two to post this potential WC team, for after this weekend:

Potential WC team, after this weekend.

    Jaask, Beg

    Baines, Figueroa, Hange, Clyne, Gorkss

    Bale, HBA, Silva, Cazorla, Maloney

    Jelavic, Ba, Podolski

    It’s a little leftfield – thoughts?

I'm really being swayed by having 4 big mids. You can get 3 mid price strikers, all guaranteed starters, and all full of goals. Berba is another option I'm looking at, for Podolski. Then I can even upgrade a def.

I'm a sucker for a strong frontline and being able to swap 2 mid price mids and 3 mid price defenders personally. But the team looks solid.

Silva has big games coming up i think. Just a personal hunch though after watching him play the last 2 games.

Not sure about double newcastle coverage and Podolski though. Theres some teams with in-form players that have a great run ahead of them. Fulham, Tottenham, City etc.

Possibly Berba in for Ba then.

I've always gone with at least one big striker, but there is so much doubt on them this season. I'd rather have 3 who will play 90 minutes most weeks, and who still get the goals.

I can actually do Berb/Jelly/Tevez, since I got Tev in for 9.0

He could still be a big player this season.

Would taking Hazard & Yaya Toure out for Mata & Bale/Cazorla be good business? That'd leave me with no City players at all.

If so, which out of Bale or Cazorla?

Torres or Mata as captain this week?

My other open questions this week is get Gervinho and sell Cazorla? I know that Cazorla is probably the best choice long term, but what if Gervinho finally get consistent and keeps playing as striker? Is it worth the risk and release some cash to invest somewhere else?

    Cheers lads

Would like to see him constantly on the first 11 sheet before I consider... he could be a good defender to keep an eye on.. but not for now.

I like him and want him but people saying he'll surely be out once BAE returns and Vertonghen is restored to center back. But it's a nice one week punt imo.

    My predictions for this week:

Graham to come good with a brace, including a penalty - he had a slow start last season and at home to Reading is the best chance he will get.

Defoe to start but Ade to come on and score (Defoe played 90 minutes in the week so will have to make way to give Ade a decent 20 minutes or so)

West Ham clean sheet vs Arsenal - no one knows how to crush the life out of Arsenal like Allardyce

no way surely rvp is the more versatile player, gets loads of assists too. fixture proof, also.

Aguero drops deeper and gets more involved in the build up play than RVP does. Just my opinion though.
