The Gunners show their spirit to come from behind and claim the points at Upton Park, as Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott arrive and Santi Cazorla confirms his class…

On the Up

Olivier Giroud
A first Premier League goal, was capped by the assist for Theo Walcott’s winner. The Frenchman has pedigree in his native country but has yet to convince on these shores. He’ll surely take great confidence from this evening’s performance, however, and Giroud could yet present another enticing option up front.

Santi Cazorla
We kept faith with Cazorla in the Watchlist rankings, settling him in third above his in-form team-mate Gervinho: tonight’s performance demonstrated just why. The Spaniard was, once again, superb and this time delivered on his hugely impressive numbers with a fabulous strike to seal the Arsenal victory.

Theo Walcott
A peripheral figure so far in Arsenal’s season, Walcott’s goal and his assist for Cazola’s effort was a reminder of his potential. Contract negotiations are still ongoing – if Walcott can finally settle, he could yet play a role in our Fantasy seasons. Right now, he’s an option that increases the likelihood of rotation in Wenger’s lineup.

Going Down

The Arsenal Defence
Arsene Wenger brought Per Mertesacker back into his back four, dropping Laurent Koscielny to the bench – a decision likely to have been governed by the threat of Andy Carroll. The Gunners backline have now conceded in the last four and, more significantly, with Bacary Sagna and Wojciech Szczesney set for returns after the international break, there is a great deal of uncertainty in terms of personnel. Thomas Vermaelen appears to be the only assured starter, at least until we know more on Kieran Gibbs’ knock that saw him replaced just before the hour-mark tonight.

Gervinho
Giroud’s returns and Walcott’s showing from the bench signals trouble for owners of the Ivorian. Already he was pushed out wide on the right from the off in this evening’s game, only to be replaced by Walcott after 60 minutes after an ineffectual showing. Gervinho’s starting role is now immediately under increased threat, both as a central attacker and on the flank.

Ricardo Vaz Te
The Hammers striker had been enjoying a buoyant start to the season but this looks to have been derailed this evening by a suspected dislocation of the shoulder. Guy Demel also sustained a knock and his prognosis is likely to be a greater concern for Fantasy managers.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Anyone think its worth it to ditch Dyer for a hit?

    Im talking long-term here.

    2FT this week, Hazard+Tevez->Santi+Berbs

Will have to suffer price drops and to stick with Dyer unless i get rid this week for Sterling(as there will be much more pressing trannys in future). This also solves my bench problem, with Sterling acting as bench fodder most weeks.

Really don't like taking hits though.. Thoughts?

why do you ditch Tevez?? He surely starts next GW.
Aguero now is not the most nailed on striker of MANC like last year.. Aguero and Tevez now have the same role (> Balotelli = Dzeko). Tevez is still best ManC coverage for their next good fixtures.

The Stock Check echoed my thoughts on Fellaini- too many yellow cards; I'm punting him and bringing in Pienaar.

In the Fellaini v Pienaar debate, sure- Fellaini is playing in an advanced position and when things go well, he can have cracking returns. As shown against Southampton however, he can have almost a man-of-the-match performance yet with no assists, clean sheet or goals, he can give no returns.

Pienaar is the far more consistent option in FPL terms, IMO.

Bonuses, however, awarded on the basis of EA Sports PPI is shite. Bring back the old system of the adjudged three best players.

I'd say give Fellaini one more week.

When he's good, he's great. When he's not, he gets frustrated and gets himself booked, leaving him liable to a 1-pointer...... I think it would be wise to assess him after another week.

They've got QPR away next.......... I expect a bit of a backlash from QPR to be honest, so I think it might be a high-scoring draw, another 2-2 maybe.

Still think Aguero is more rotation proof than Tevez.

Siva will play most games, as will Kompany (dropped because of injury not rotation) and Hart

Can I just say that I hope Suarez gets typical Stoke treatment and crunched after 2 minutes and subbed as a lot of my opponents have him as Captain?

I think it's wonderful. If he keeps on falling like this I'll be able to buy him back for 9m, exactly what I paid in the first place.

Sell Tevez, Sell Berbatov, Buy Lambert everybody. You know it makes sense.

I had him from the start when Aguero was fit so nothing has changed for me if city find form he will be involved more often that not which equals good value to me. Also Mancini seems to favour him in the Prem and others in the champions league which is handy!

Some will always knee-jerk, look at those transferring in Kolorov after yesterday! I just smile in the knowledge it should keep me higher up the league:)

Frustrating as I feel Giroud will score 15 goals this season...and he will have buckets of assists...owned him to start...bad timing...I just felt at the time...wait a minute...this guy is going to be the lone striker in a heavily attacking team...low ownership...no brainer! May own him again before the season is out.
