The Dugout Discussion opens for an action-packed Sunday offering of Premier League action. There’s four games this afternoon, so that’s at least 88 players in action and looking to earn their fantasy managers some much needed points. We start at St. Mary’s where league new-boys Southampton welcome the visit of Martin Jol’s Fulham. The team news is in, and the sides line-up as follows…
Southampton XI: Gazzaniga, Richardson, Yoshida, Fonte, Fox, Puncheon, Schneiderlin, Steven Davis, Lallana, Rodriguez, Lambert.
Fulham XI: Schwarzer, Riether, Hughes, Hangeland, Riise, Kacaniklic, Ruiz, Baird, Sidwell, Duff, Rodallega.
Dead legs keep both Gaston Ramirez and Nathaniel Clyne out of the side, as Southampton make three changes to benefit Daniel Fox, Jason Puncheon and Morgan Shneirderlin.
The visitors are once again without their big summer signing, Dimitar Berbatov, who has failed to recovery from a hip injury that saw him sit out last week’s game. Also missing out is Mladen Petric – a calf problem prevents him from playing today.
After the clash at St. Mary’ is settled, we’re up at the opposite end of the country to see if Newcastle United can produce a repeat performance of last’s season home game against Manchester United.
In and amongst those two games, the rest of the Europa League contingent – Liverpool and Tottenham – have home ties kicking-off at 3pm. Stoke make the trip to Anfield, whilst Aston Villa are in the capital to face Andre Villas Boas’ side.
Keep up-to-date with all of today’s goings on in our Dugout Discussion chatroom, which is open and can be accessed right here.
