A decidedly tepid Gameweek which saw the big guns misfire. Oliver Giroud at last made an impression, Santi Cazorla boosted his reputation, while two of the “template squad” were rejuvenated as Eden Hazard and Michu delivered. Our members can hoover up all the data from the weekend action and, as usual, we’ve picked up the numbers that have caught our eye so far…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

after having a strong first 4 weeks, the last 3 have been a laugh. WC ACTIVATED

    Mignolet, (Mcartney)

    Baines Richards Caulker (demel, fonte)
    Mata Bale Caz Sterling (maloney)
    Rooney Berba Aguero

Too many gambles? this team seems to rely on rooney outscoring RVP

Zabaleta played most of the champions league matches last year, and played the entire home stretch of our ride to the title. Mancini prefers Zaba, and didn't bring Maicon in for nothing. I see Micah as a utility player and it's crazy I know.

Micah is a beast and has been Englands best rb for a few years, but NOBODYYYY seems to realise it.

        Rafael Hangeland Clyne (Demel Gorkks)
        Bale Cazorla Pienaar Fellaini (Dyer)
        Rvp Tevez Ba
        0.2 in bank
        2 FT
Any suggestions? Dont wanna start Clyne this week, and i need to upgrade Fellaini/Dyer/Demel/Federici sooner rather than later.. Rvp gives me the funds

why do you need to upgrade Fellaini? Just start clyne who may get something from West Ham with defensive worries. Could be nil nil could be 4-4 and he could assist or get a freak goal.

Rest of your team is brilliant. If you want Baines then I would consider shipping out Pienaar for Routledge or Maloney and upgrading Hangeland for him(baines).

          RVP out after Stoke.

Nothing major required here at all - good team. Since you have to use a transfer I'd be tempted with Fellaini -> Sterling to save some cash. I would've said Demel -> someone, but nothing really appeals.

Quick vote for those of you awake....

    a) Guthrie -> Sterling
    b) Save the transfer
    c) Barfa & Tevez -> Santi & Berba (4 point hit). Leaves enough in the bank for Michu -> Barfa, or Michu & Suarez -> Mata & Ba (4 point hit) in GW9..
    d) Something else

    Jaask, Fed
    Baines, Cuellar, Hughes, McCartney, Clyne
    Bale, Barfa, Michu, Pienaar, Guthrie
    RVP, Tevez, Suarez

Yeah, I think b) is the safe play but c) could definitely turn out to be profitable. The consecutive 4 pointers also gives decent coverage of the big teams. Another option could be Suarez & Michu -> Tevez & Barfa, or Aguero & Walters. I am tempted to roll the dice...

After watching the last game I would say don't get Kags as he hasnt fitted into a specific role yet and Rooney's return has just confused matters more...

The pig was great yesterday but would I want a MF player taking up a strikers role.. I'm not sure he will continue to get points there...

For me at UTD it's either RVP or no RVP that is the question. If it's no wait until Valencia is back properly (came on as a sub)

Morning guys! 🙂 Here's my sad lot atm.

    Foster - Bego
    Baines - Clark - Demel - Davies - Gorkss
    Hazard - Cazorla - Pienaar - Nolan - Guthrie
    RVP - Suarez - Defoe

2 FT. £1.0m in the bank.

Might have to go the boring route and boot Demel and Guthrie. What would you do?

Both have to go, but then so does Davies after GW8 and Defoe, now that Ade is back IMO...

Other than that, team looks not too bad...

I would do Defoe > Berbs, and use the extra to upgrade defence... Guthrie can wait, you've already suffered from his price fall...

      Maybe Demel > Simpson?

I've been a Yaya holder since Gwk1. And while his returns were profitable at the beginning of the season, this have come to a depressing halt. The guy's one of the best in his position, no doubt. But Silva is a better attacking option, when he's fit. And he is getting there, the little Spaniard.

Hey fella! Better start than last year-just waiting to make some headway up the fpl ladder. Very little difference points-wise between me and a decent ranking. Once I've done Bale and Mata for Hazza/Micchu, I'll have a reasonably good team.

why so sure RVP out aint a bad idea? bad fixtures, will be a rotation risk for the easier home games.. he'll do fantastically well granted, but slowly realisin that no matter how well he does Berbs/Tevez/Ba will offer better value..

Offer value? Yes, all that is ok, but transfer for who? None of the big hitting mids are in the Ronaldo Gerrard Lampard category buddy. I have Tevez and Berba with RVP.

I for one am definitely holding now, and i'll only swap for Rooney/Kun/Torres if at all.
Also, United and City are two teams that are fixture proof, attacking wise. RVP did not do much against Newcastle because SAF played a narrow formation with no wingers. Once the wingers come in, i see goals, lots of them.

Also, i'm a United fan so having RVP in the team, well, is just a lot of fun.

    Planning on my wildcard team.
I wonder which teams do you guys wish to have two players?
Currently I have Baines&Pienaar from Everton and Hughes+Berba from Fulham.
    Planning for Aguero+Silva too.

    What are your thoughts?

surly there are better players than Silva. And cheaper!

+42. I don't understand all this Saliva hype.

If the players are delivering on a regular basis a la Pienaar/Baines, then I have no qualms with having two players from the same team.

Silva is a little too pricy for the low returns at present. Aguero's benching raises doubts about his starts. Tevez for me who is looking to be more nailed on than previously thought.

first two sound good. i'd avoid the man city pair though. aguero likely to be rotated and silva not producing to justify his price tag. if you have to have city attack go with tevez. though i'd rather get ba or berb or jelly for a striker and caz or bale or even hba for a mf

    Foster ( Gazza)

Wilson, Demel, Clyne , Ivan , Mertesacker

    Mata, Piennar , HBA, Santi

    Berba, Aguero , RVP

    Any room for improvements?

I'm normally very stingy when it comes to point hits, but this one has me considering back to back hits. Yay or Nay?

    GW8: Barfa & Tevez -> Santi & Berba (4 point hit)
    GW9: Michu & Suarez -> Silva/Mata & Ba (4 point hit)

    Jaask, Fed
    Baines, Cuellar, Hughes, McCartney, Clyne
    Bale, Barfa, Michu, Pienaar, Guthrie
    RVP, Tevez, Suarez

Double up on NEW attack then? On reflection, consecutive hits is probably too much. Thing is, I fancy Tevez to start GW8 as he's the only striker not away on International duty.

yeah. they've got pretty nice fixtures. and ba + hba should be involved in most/all goals. and one of the two will have pens

then save the FT and do 3 transfers for a hit in gw 9.

            GW8: Save
            GW9: Michu & Suarez -> Berba & Santi (4 pointer)

            is probably what I'll do.

sounds good. though if you save the ft then the gw 9 transfers would be for free unless you're getting rid of tevez too

Exactly. No Ba is a bit of a concern, but maybe something like:

                GW10: Save
GW11: Berba & Bale -> Ba & Mata (looking to bring Bale back in GW13)

Could have been useful: Baps For Michu, Mata & Aguero. The System is flawed. Both Mata & Aguero was the players of the match & still no baps!. Sucks!
