With the Scout leaders in the Fantasy Premier League game proclaimed earlier this week, we now turn our attention to Sky Sports Fantasy Football, listing our current top players, checking on this week’s transfer activity and looking ahead to another edition of the Fantasy Football Club…

The Scout League

Chris Tuck’s magnificently named “Vuvuzela Symphony” climb to the summit of the Scout League following their Gameweek 8 performance, Chris’ outfit sit on 531 points, just ahead of Gary Paterson’s “Pack Leaders” on 530. That pairing sit seventh and eighth in the overall Sky Sports rankings, with the leader out on top on an impressive 559 points in the quest for the £25k top prize.

Back to the Scout League and Jonathan Lenharth is still very much in the reckoning in third spot on 524 points, with Ben Atherton and Paul Hennessy fourth and fifth.

Andy remains the top Scout contributor in the game, sitting 38th in the Scout League on 469 points. I’m nestled in 3650th position on 422 points. Average at best.

A reminder that if you’re playing the Sky Sports game and have yet to join our league, you can sign up to the FFScout League with this Pin: 8004519. We have a home cinema system, worth £600, available to the winner.

Market Forces

Not surprisingly, it’s Juan Mata who leaps to the top of the transferred in rankings for this week, mirroring the trend over in the FPL. The Spaniard has been the subject of 5.6% of the transfers made in the last seven days, with compatriot Santi Cazorla also remaining popular – he’s been subject to almost 5% of the transfers made. Demba Ba and Raheem Sterling join the ever-present Carl Jenkinson in the top five – I can’t help that we’ll see huge sales of the Arsenal full-back should Bacary Sagna get a sniff against QPR this weekend.

At the other end of the spectrum there’s been a huge Marouane Fellaini exodus with almost 10% of transfers out involving the Belgian. Carlos Tevez has continued to shed owners as he struggles for goals, while Fellaini’s team-mate, Steven Pienaar, has also been subject of heavy sales as a result of his suspension this weekend.

Checking back on the statistics for value offered so far this season, and Jenkinson’s popularity is somewhat explained by his position as the top value defender in the game so far. West Ham’s Jussi Jaaskaleinen has offered the best point for pound return in goal, while Swansea’s Michu has emerged as the best value player in the entire game to this point. The raiding Spaniard has scored 9.64 points per million, with Mark Noble and Raheem Sterling on his tail with 9.57 and 9.53 respectively.

Jermain Defoe is still on top of the value rankings up front – the Spurs man has so far delivered 6.54 points per million, although he may struggle to hold off Demba Ba for too much longer, given the Newcastle man’s obliging fixtures in the weeks to come. Ba has offered 6.44 points per million thus far.

Fantasy Football Club

The lavish locks of David Ginola swish into the studio to join hosts – Fenners and Merse – in tonight’s episode of the Fantasy Football Club. Tune in from 10pm for the latest from the boys and their ITK.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

No idea what to do with Silva. Made my transfer already so a 4pt hit to get him out (and who is else is there?), or just play Sterling.

    Team otherwise:

    Begovic
    Baines, Wisdom, Clyne
    Silva (Sterling), Bale, Mata, Cazorla
    Rooney, Carroll, Lambert

You just hold a week, right?

Nolan at Wigan where the games are always open and they really don't know how to keep a CS looks really tempting.

I'm playing Schwarzer where a CS is possible but by no means certain and Riise could get some attacking returns.

Tight derby game with few goals imo and Sterling to get 2 points this time.

Nolan edges it over Riise imo.

Stats suggest Cuellar (away to Stoke) will concede less goals than Saylor (home to WBA).

Saylor has more goal threat, but Newcastle will surely miss Tiote. Could I possibly be considering Cuellar ahead of Saylor???

May be biased but start Taylor.

Krul and Colo are back so our defence will be much improved on most of this season. Tiote is a loss but not a huge one as Anita/Bigi/Perch can fill in and do a defensive role.

One warning though, Taylor may not start. Williamson did well in the derby and Taylor started Thursday night and Willo played no part.

What do people think about the following transfers (2 FT)

    Torres -> Ba
    Pienaar - > Bale

    Any smarter moves I'm missing?

    Current team is

    Bego/Fed
    Baines/Hangeland/Saylor/Demel/Cuellar
    Cazorla/Michu/Barfa/Pienaar/Noble
    Torres/Tevez/Jelavic

can someone please help. i always advise when i can

    begovic howard
    baines hughes cuellar demel clyne
    bale caz michu pienaar kack
    rvp tevez ba

    BIG BIG dilema
    was all set on

    rvp to aguero
    michu to mata

now with demel out its forcing me to play clyne

should i take pienaar out instead of michu so that i can play michu
should i take a -4 and bring in sterling for kack as well

should i be keeping rvp and funding mata by downgrading baines to distin

I share your dilemma - I too am thinking of upgrading Michu, and downgrading RVP to pay for it. But in your case I would stick with your original plan - I think Pienaar is a better option than Michu going forwards, although clearly not this week.

Gets forward loads, hogs it a bit and likes to shoot.

Guaranteed gametime this season, much more consistent than last.

In my slightly biased opinion, he's up there with the best wingers in the division.

Taking the captaincy off him to sign Barton was one of the biggest mistakes I've seen by a club in English football.

I agree he's talented in real life but if we're talking purely about FPL then he's not great value IMO. I'd rather have a host of players in his price range. I did a bit of analysis on it earlier in the week...

See your view and know he doesn't assist many goals but his goal threat makes him worth it imo.

He may shoot from outside the box but he's scored a fair few long range goals in his time here and same before when he played in France.

He can also grab a goal out of nowhere so if we're not playing great or not getting a lot of the ball, it doesn't mean he won't get you points.

Newcastle fan but I'd be guessing if I told you he would/wouldn't play. I think long term he's still first choice to partner Colo (at least until January) but I wouldn't be at all surprised if Williamson kept his place this week.

I think that's as close as anyone can go to predicting it really. If you have no better options this week then stick with him as long-term he should be great value.

I just need to decide whether to play Cuellar instead. I'm leaning towards stickin with Saylor

You'd be pretty unlucky for him to make a 1 point cameo, and even if he did it would only really sting if Cuellar keeps a cleansheet which you're obviously not confident of. It's a sensible play. (Doesn't mean it won't bite you in the arse though 😉 )
