A less than impressive City scramble past Swansea thanks to a moment of inspiration from Carlos Tevez in the longest game in Premier League history. For many of us watching, it felt like it, too:

Going Up

Carlos Tevez
Having failed to score in the last four Gameweeks, the Argentine has been deserted by plenty Fantasy managers after impressing in the first few matches. Shifted to a deeper role at half-time, with Mario Balotelli coming on to lead the line, Tevez’s fine strike from distance was enough to secure the points for a disjointed home side.

City Defensive Resolve
The 1-0 win earned a second successive home clean sheet for Roberto Mancini’s men. They have now conceded just once in the last three but their injury problems at right-back look like continuing – Micah Richards seems to have sustained a knee injury and could be set to join Pablo Zabaleta and Maicon on the sidelines; Kolo Toure may earn a rare spell in the first XI as a result.

Going Down

Michel Vorm
The Dutchman has been such a key figure for Swansea since joining prior to the start of last season but, having injured his groin while attempting to save Tevez’s strike, he may well be unavailable for Michael Laudrup’s side. Gerhard Tremmel – priced at 4.0 in FPL – looks the man to benefit.

Joleon Lescott
Granted, the centre-half had been dropped for two league games prior to this evening but both had been on the road. Lescott had played every minute at the Etihad, with Mancini seemingly keen on him alongside Vincent Kompany at home but the former Everton man clearly has a real rival in Matija Nastasic. Lescott was handed a seven minute sub appearance deep into the 12 minutes of time added on, handing his Fantasy owners a one point return.

Nathan Dyer
The winger was benched for the second game running, with Pablo Hernandez again preferred on the right. Dyer had previously started six of Swansea’s first seven but the Spaniard seems to now be slotting into Michael Laudrup’s system at his expense – a big worry for Dyer’s 18% FPL owners.

Scott Sinclair
The showdown with his former club looked tailor-made for Sinclair to make his first start since Gameweek 4 but he once again warmed the bench, with Mancini clearly far from convinced by his abilities. This time last term both he and Dyer were nailed-on under Brendan Rodgers for the Swans – now both look peripheral figures under their new managers.

Chelsea are going to run riot. United defence to weak to deal with Mata, Oscar, Hazard, Torres and their movement and pace. It will be highscoring as it looks like Uniteds tactics this year are "You score 2, we score 3". Chelsea defence is one of the best in the PL though, so United are in trouble. Chelsea 4-3.

in all fairness they seem to be one of the best defenses in the PL so far this year but haven't had that tough of a schedule: wigan, reading, a newcastle team with several injuries at the time, qpr, stoke, arsenal who's been pretty disappointing attacking wise, norwhich, and spurs without bale. so this is a big reason why their defense has done better than a lot of other defenses

Wanting to get rid of Fletcher and Cazorla. The former, a player with limited ability, over-achieved for a few weeks, might do it in a few weeks again but wildly inconsistent. Would be thinking about our own Shane Long for him and free up funds elsewhere.

The latter, a class act in the Gunners midfield, his talent not reflected in FF points. no obvious replacements, Silva when back fit hardly a rich source of FF points. My own favourite, rate him highly, is Valencia, but now seems either not nailed-on or too defensive minded cos he's covering for Rafael who couldn't tackle a fish supper. Fletcher home to Villa next week and Cazorla away to ignited so Cazorla first to go by hopefully can wait another week.

I have Mata. Berbatov will not give the return anticipated by many here. In my opinion if Berbatov was motivated to get the finger out he wold have aimed higher than Fulham. Have Mirallas, not getting Jelavic. Defoe is next on my list similarly priced, Tevez and Ba too expensive. Heard a rumour that Drogba is bound for An field loan deal so might get him him.

just looked at your team. if you wanna talk about overpriced i'd look at sahin. he only has 23 points and is priced at 6.8. and almost all his points came from the thrashing of norwhich.

also don't think johnson is worth his price (6.4) for just 1 assist and 2 cs's. and ivanovic has a really tough run of fixtures. think his returns will probably dry up. i'd take two of baines, sagna, rafa, and a newcastle defender over those two. and if you really want a pool defender i'd go wisdom for a whole lot cheaper.

just my opinion but proceed as you wish. if it were me i'd look to do fletcher cazorla and sahin out for ba, pienaar (or nolan/morrison/walters/llana or someone else in that price range that you fancy) and hba

Sahin is next. Not delivering on his Eastern province. Baines isn't worth that price considering the rest of your defence is weaj if you get him. Ivanovic is quality, end of., not fixture proof, but still quality. Sagna currently has Mannone behind him and even if not Arsenal will concede. Rafael will be a sub in a few weeks. Wisdom is decent, would hope Rodgers would make him mor nailed on and get rid of an over-rated Antique. But no attacking threat, unlike Glenner.

baines isn't much more expensive than ivanovic. and baines gets forward more, and has pens and some fk's. so ivan > baines for chelseas tough fixtures, simple.

mannone isn't a worry for sagna. notice how he slotted immediately back into the first xi as soon as he returned from injury. and sagna has good attacking threat too. and after this week arsenal have a decent cs chance every week. home to fulham and spurs are possibilities for cleanies (though less likely) before they embark on a nice run of fixtures through gw 21!

what makes you think rafa will be a sub in a few weeks? SAF has recently praised him and how well he is playing. and i would expect smalling and jones to come back and play in cup matches for a while first.

well i think i'd prefer to have baines + wisdom over johnson + someone else. baines attacking potential is much greater than johnson's and wisdom still gives you that pool defensive coverage

Not Sagna and Manoone in competition, I mean Sagna's FF points are better with a better keeper and in a better defence than the Gunners. I think Sagna is top class, had him in FF before, might well get him for Glenner soon and will keep an eye on Wisdom.Keeping Ivanovic, got him relatively cheap and I Chelsea CS will improve with Terry back. Cheers.

Agree with these moves guys? And if 2, which one?

    1) If Berba is ok, then save the transfer.

    2) If Berba is confirmed out, then one of:

    a) Berba -> Lambert (leaves enough to get Sagna in GW11)
    b) Berba & Santi -> Pienaar & Tevez 4 pointer
    c) Berba & Santi -> Morrisson/Taarabt & Tevez (leaves enough to get Sagna in GW11)

    Jaask, (Federici)
    Baines, Cuellar, Hughes, (McCartney), (Clyne)
    Bale, Santi, Mata, Michu, (Guthrie)

Can Shrek, i mean, Rooney, be as valuable playing as deep as he has been? Any Rag, I mean, United, fans on here who see him staying in the subdued role for the long haul?

1.5m cheaper to get Rooney in and like most are noticing, gw 11 on are simply mouthwatering for the United team.

    4. Pienaar (ful)

      It's hard choice.
are they all your midfield + another one?

Michu is only 7 but score a lot and play behind striker.
Sterling is the cheapest but won't give a lot of points however he guarantee to play .
Nolan is cheaper than Michu and has same potential to score.
      Pienaar only potential for assist

I would say Pienaar. But Pienaar fixture looks better than other 3 players. Sterling could be the drop list but he's cheap. Michu can also be the drop list.
One thing for sure keep Nolan.

Is that drop bench drop list or you are planning to sellt them?
if only drop bench then Pick Sterling.

pienaar will score now and again. he's not a constant goal threat but he will score. already has one goal this year and scored a couple last year and he didn't play much til he moved back to everton later in the season

Yes that's correct TW.......I reckon maybe Sterling tbh.....just cause he was bought as bench fodder, even though he's not

          Nolan at home
          Michu is OOP
          Pienaar is decent

michu is also at home. nolan has MCI and michu has CHE. both are tough games so i'd rather bench one of those instead of sterling (who is also oop btw) and only playing newcastle (at home as well btw)

and i wouldn't bench pienaar cuz he's quality and has an easier fixture

ahhh i gotcha. but see if you go for the player that will score the most points then you'll do fine. will actually help you pull ahead of your rival instead of staying level with him. i'd ship asap with the tough fixtures. do u already have baines?? get baines or do the transfer i suggested imo.

yeahh. glad i got him in for gibbs on a free 😀

yupp, i've got bale (c), baines, saylor, hba, ba and lambert left for tomorrow (sunday) and 22 points from today (saturday) :D. how about yourself?

Same, with Cuellar (6pts) on the bench ready to replace Jenkinson. But took a hit so currently 24pts.

Baines, Ivanovic, Bale (c), Sterling and RVP to play, so hoping to get to 50pts plus
