Fantasy managers have this afternoon been given notice of another double Gameweek to prepare after Sunderland confirmed the date for their rearranged home clash with Reading. Initially scheduled for Gameweek 2, the clash was called off due to a waterlogged pitch but has now been rescheduled for Tuesday December 11 – presumably affording both clubs a pair of fixtures in Gameweek 16.

Sunderland will now welcome Chelsea and Reading to the Stadium of Light in the Gameweek, while the Royals also have a trip to Southampton on their agenda. Although the Black Cats have been disastrous in front of goal in recent weeks, their backline has impressed at home – just two goals have been conceded in three matches in front of their own fans. Simon Mignolet and Carlos Cuellar (priced at 5.0 and 4.5 in Fantasy Premier League) are likely to garner extra attention, then, though with United, City and Spurs as three of their following four opponents, stocking up on the likes of Steven Fletcher could be a risky tactic. Martin O’Neill’s men do face a trip to QPR in Gameweek 15 and a trip to Southampton in Gameweek 18, perhaps making Fletcher that little bit more enticing.

For Reading, without a single clean sheet this season, investment at the back looks a risky option. Brian McDermott’s men have, however, seen an upturn in attacking output since rolling out a 4-4-2; they have scored seven goals in the previous three matches they have used this formation. Recent Watchlist candidate Jobi McAnuff, who has assisted five of his side’s 11 goals, will surely be earmarked by many; coming in at 5.1 in Fantasy Premier League, the winger looks a real contender, while Pavel Pogrebnyak (now down to 4.7 in FPL) is the only forward to start every game for McDermott’s side so far.

Reading do, however, face United at home in Gameweek 15 and then play Arsenal and City in the two Gameweeks immediately after the double, suggesting any over-investment in their assets could be come at a cost.

    Silva's flag info on FPL has changed to 'Expected back 11 Nov'.

    I thought he was still in contention for this weekend (barring that one Daily Mail story) and would certainly be back by the European game mid-week.

    What gives?

    On a wildcard is it madness to be considering David Silva as City coverage instead of Tevez?

    Thinking being that Tevez is 'due' a rest and has far more competition for his place. Whereas once fit, Silva should play and play.

        Mata may miss Swansea game entirely. He played 120 minutes last night and the game is Saturday, not Sunday. Champions League to follow where Chelsea are up against it + plenty of options in midfield w/ Oscar, Hazard, Moses, Marin, etc. capable of stepping in for this 1 league game. Wouldn't be surprised if he plays 60 or less or misses out entirely. Not fear mongering, as doubt many would captain him despite his recent superb form, just a possibility.

      But then if you do it a week on friday he could be .4 more by then and that .4 might contribute to greater overall points for your team.

    What would people do with this team in the coming GWs? I've already taken a 4pter this week so nothing else I am willing to, even with still Ba in there and such a doubt for the next game.

    Foster (Fed)
    Baines Hang Cuellar (McCartney Gibbs)
    Morrison Haz Bale Sterling Pienaar
    RVP Ba (Lambert)
    Bank 0.4m

        Loadsa love Gaffer 😉 Foster doesn't have the best of CS form at the moment, none in the past 4 games against some weak opponents and Fed may not play. Baines and Cuellar are good. Hange is only good at home. McCartney and Gibbs are meh enough. Morrison is playing quite defensive, Hazard is good but I prefer Mata, Bale good, Sterling good and Peanut good although Fulham will be tough to break down. RVP excellent, Ba excellent but may not play this weekend and Lambert not so brilliant but can score. Honestly I think Baines and Hazard are sucking up a lot of funds right now, Hang can be replaced by a cheaper Fulham lad instead.

    looking at the chelsea attacking trio wizards:

    RDM seems to rest hazard and oscar here and there but lately no rest for mata.

    could mean two things:

    1) mata is due for a rest

    2) mata is the pivotal point in chelseas team and rdm cant afford to rest him. mata is making chelsea tick and IMO rdm doesnt want to rest him

      Mata gets his nice long rest during the International breaks when the others have to play/travel quite a bit.. Just a consideration.

      And also, I agree that he see's Mata as the focal point. He will of course but rested at some stage but not this week imo..

      Mata was given a rest earlier on in the season and of course has (somehow) been dropped from the national team. So he hasnt been in as much need of a rest, plus he's not a newcomer to the league anymore.

      But after the extra-ordinary events of the League cup game, it wouldnt shock me at all if he did get a rest or sub appearence next GW before returning for Spurs and becoming practically ever-present again.

      He is certainly the most influential of Chelseas attacking trio

    Begovic - (Vorm)

    Baines - Rafael - Boyce - (Clyne, Demel)

    Mata - Cazorla - Michu - Sterling - (Maloney)

    RVP - Ba - Berbatov

    1FT, 3.5m in bank.

    Current plan is to save the FT. Possible transfers next week include:

    Vorm -> Ruddy or cheaper

    Boyce and/or Demel -> Cuellar/Nelsen/Gorkks

    Maloney -> Bale/Valencia/Silva

    Basically waiting to see who best to get in for Maloney. Question: is it worth bringing any of these transfers forward to this week? Not hugely fussed about losing value on Vorm/Demel, so it'd probably only be to get a big hitter in for Maloney and -4pts.

      I dont see anything encouraging from this DGW. I will likely get Gorkss by then. Unlikely to want to spend money on Guthrie-->McAnuff even with a DGW. Only sunderland player i would want is Cuellar and Fletcher but they have Chelsea in one of the double so wont want both.

      Infact I wouldn't even captain a DGW player that week. If I still have Michu he may get my armband in that GW

        I have Kebe and Migs, both will play that week. If i can spare a transfer i may get 1 other in, but bar the mega-DGW last year's were something of a let-down unless you owned BAE (which I did)

          Yeah keep them. Most DGW players that week will return 4pts if that. Though Pog or some form of Reading attack for sot and sun could be good. Can't see much for defensive returns from both teams that week.

            Migs might get some saves, given both games are at home. Plus Chelsea have WCC week after. I have Kebe, if that counts. Though if I were buying a Reading attacker for DGW I would buy McAnuff.

              Baines fixtures turn sour before then so I could be incline to downgrade him and then get McAnuff perhaps but too far away that is.

              Also on another note, I am afraid I wont have time for a drink before the Arsenal game as I am arriving from London and then going straight to ground with mate and meeting best mates from uni for drink after game. Sorry! I am sure you can handle this rejection better than other one! 😛 (I was lurking when you posted about that)

                I don't think I understand your post or what your stats mean .. my argument is that both Huth and Shawcross are a good threat.... the above 1,1,0,3 doesn't relate to goals scored in prior seasons by either player.
