The midweek Capital One Cup ties lit up our week like a firework. Although some teams fielded second string potential over their star talent, Fantasy football’s movers and shakers were still smashing the goals in. Luis Suarez, Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard and a certain Theo Walcott were all in bloom. The question now is whether the midweek goal avalanche will spill over into our weekend’s Premier League action, or will they all get a “touch of the Sunderland’s”?

As always, our “Flutter” selections demand goals from some of our Scout Picks starlets, so let’s see how kind Paddy have been with the markets we threw their way…

Gareth Bale is yet to “explode” as a Fantasy asset and yet he has still managed three goals and three assists. Opponents are perhaps all too familiar with his by-line dashes and weaving runs into the centre and often double up in an attempt to neutralise the Welshman’s galloping runs. The new dad looks to have taken his game to another level of late, though, dominating much of the midweek tie at Norwich – Spurs’ eventual defeat will leave a bitter taste and with a tired Wigan outfit turning up at the Lane, Bale looks good for returns. We’re going to bite Paddy’s hand off for 4/1 on a Bale goal and a Spurs cleanie in this one, so £6 of our tenner is spent.

Whilst Reading suffered embarrassment to Arsene Wenger’s resurgent youngsters, QPR put their feet up and counted the goals flying in with a wry smile. The R’s now play host to the battered Royals on Sunday, hoping the visit of Brian McDermott’s beleaguered outfit hands them the perfect chance to notch a first league win. Adel Taarabt is backed in the Picks this week and Paddy have the Moroccan to score with a QPR clean-sheet at 11/2. Although at first glance this seems a little skinny, fatigue may well put pounds in our pockets as we place £2 of our tenner on this.

West Brom’s James Morrison finds himself right up there with some of the Fantasy heavyweights this term as he revels in his new attacking role behind the lone striker. The Baggies have collected four clean-sheets, whilst Morrison has profited from three assists and two goals thus far. Scout Pick Morrison is 7/1 to score and help make a fifth clean-sheet on Monday against Southampton, and with stats on our side we’re willing to risk a couple of quid on the longer odd.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

I've seen you post this a few times...

Given the extra attention RVP & Bale have had, the Tevez option has quietly gone under the radar...

Against his old club too... so extra motivation perhaps...

I still think you are trying too hard here, as I think Citeh IMO will struggle to score more than 1...

West Ham are no mugs, Sam Allardyce will have them well drilled...

          I expect a very tough for Citeh.. 0-1, 1-2... maybe even 1-1...

          Just my two cents...

I think United will score at least 3...

I've just watched a good western so excuse the language I am about to use.
What is a man without his convictions in the decisions he makes? I have two convictions and I want you to decide which is more worthy.

    1) Those who for some reason still resist the moral law that is "Thou shalt have RVP" deserve to be duly punished. What better way than for him to go crazy for many a captainer.

    2) When your gut feeling says Bale will go big, go with your gut.

So should I go with my morals or go with my gut?

Good stuff mate. Its equally true of myself that those with RVP will do better than those without, perhaps I can let that be a long term goal and take the captaincy step one GW at a time. "

    @TW,

RVP is looking great away from home and Rooney is looking the man at home, stats wise - as i rememebr. But I think I'd rather have van Persie in any game still.. the stats are saying to me that away from home is likely to bring ther best hauls form Van the Man

okay. thanks for sharing. just had a look at united's run again and now a bit scared going without one of those two....

only problem is it'd compromise my strategy of rotated based on fixtures (at least to an extent) and avoiding manchester strikers as they are either not nailed on, or too expensive imo. might go for it anyways. thoughts on my options below?

option 1: hba to valencia this week, keep caz for the time being and figure out other moves from there

option 2: caz to valencia this week, save ft next week, kolorov caz and lambert out for cueller/other cheap defender, sterling and rooney the weeka after for a hit

option 3: same as 2 but have to get a 4.0 defender, ship berb and get rvp

Hey guys, what should I do with this team? I was thinking of saving my transfer, but with both Cuellar and Mata injured now I'm not sure.

      Foster, (Fed),
      Baines, Cuellar, McAuley, (Clyne, Demel),
      Santi, Mata, Pienaar, Michu, (Guthrie),
      RVP, Tevez, Berba. (0.0 bank)

I have mcually but no stoke defender.
Should I double up with foster (better CS odds IMO) or play begovich and spread the risk?
