There’s a couple of top-flight encounters to entertain us this afternoon. QPR prepare for the visit of Reading, with both sides looking for their first win of the season, before Liverpool play host to Newcastle at 4pm. As always, our Dugout Discussion Chatroom is open and available ahead of the early Loftus Road showdown:

The team news from Loftus Road is in and is as follows:

QPR Starting XI: Cesar; Bosingwa, Ferdinand, Nelsen, Traore; Mackie, Diakite, Granero, Taarabt; Hoilett; Cisse

Mark Hughes makes three alterations from the side that narrowly lost 1-0 at Arsenal last weekend. Stephane Mbia drops out through suspension, with Anton Ferdinand coming in at centre-half. Jamie Mackie is preferred to Shaun Wright-Phillips on the right flank and Djibril Cisse replaces Bobby Zamora as the lone forward.

Reading Starting XI: McCarthy; Gunter, Gorkss, Morrison, Shorey; McCleary, Leigertwood, Tabb McCleary, McAnuff; Hunt, Roberts

Brian McDermott makes four changes from the side that drew 3-3 at home with Fulham last time round. In defence, Chris Gunter replaces Shaun Cummings at right-back, while Sean Morrison comes in at centre-half, with Adrian Mariappa dropping out. Elsewhere, Garath McCleary is preferred to Jimmy Kebe on the right flank and Pavel Pogrebnyak is omitted from the first XI for the first time this term, with Noel Hunt partnering Jason Robert in a front two.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Incredible that neither of them have won a game yet. What's the longest any team has gone from the start of the season without a win?

14 goals from 8 matches. If the last two stay tight, this could be the lowest of the season so far. Knee jerks will not serve managers wisely; 2-3 goals this week is a decent haul.

Going to enjoy this GW. 🙂

Rival has panicked and taken a 12 point hit!!

He's RVP less so suspect he's raped his team to get him in.

14 points behind him yesterday, now 9 ahead, with Lambert and baps to come.

I will enjoy it while it lasts 🙂

Any news on Szczęsny's return, Mannone?

I have Mannone and Alex McCarthy and looked like McCarthy suffered from a serious looking arm injury crashing into his own post on the last kick of the QPR-Reading game.

May be without a GK next week if Szczęsny returns... Hope he's still a week or 2 away from his ankle injury fully healing.

    B. Ridgewell + Kightly out > Gorkks Fellaini/Nolan/Lallana in -4 hit

        We're sh*te, Doosra.

For 45 mins we let Reading play us off the park on our home patch.

No killer instinct once we got the equalizer against a team that sat back and invited pressure in the 2nd half. Two p*ss poor teams and based on the last 10 games we don't deserve to play in this division.

Me and many other QPR fans are wondering how the hell we are genuinely going to win a f'n match in this division. It's embarrassing and distressing.

Ordinary. Together with Rafael, the two controlled the right flank, but André Santos was woeful in defence so it wasn't that hard to accomplish.

He's getting into a lot of good positions, and his delivery his still fabulous, expecting him to assist and score a few in the weeks to come.

I'm an Arsenal fan and I'm honestly surprised at how anonymous he really was. I thought he was going to rip Santos to shreds but really, after about 25 minutes in, I barely noticed him. Rafael massively outshone him down the right.
Considering the standard of fullback he was up against I'd expect better, but I wouldn't say he was 'woeful'..

creating chances with his crosses, getting into good positions but doing poorly in front of the goal.

missed a sitter last week against chelsea and missed an even easier chance yesterday

He was pretty average. Looked like he lacked confidence to take on his man, and was dallying on the ball for too long at times. Poor shooting as usual but did his defensive work(of which was minimal) well.

Normally a slow starter, and he really gets going in the 2nd half of the season. Should still be good for regular assists though.

I agree with this... a little greedy too. The amount of times he could have passed to Rafa but just stood still with the ball was ridiculous.

Given that HBA away from home is nothing like the same player I doubt he will score

    Hoping for a solid 1-1 🙂

hope you're right. Benched him this week but am fielding Ba, hoping for Newcastle goals, without HBA's involvement, but for him to play sufficiently well to keep his place for next week...

Newcastle to win 5/1 on Betfair, have to have a little wager on them at that price!

Best defender below 4.3 (already have Nelsen)? I was planning to transfer out Demel for Williamson, but he isn't starting.

They seem to be moving forward through Fellaini more than Baines and Pienaar atm. If I didn't already have him I may not bother with him now.

Perhaps look to bring him in for GW22.
