It’s been a week of uncertainty for Fantasy managers as international withdrawals saw the possibility of “phantom injuries” casting minor doubts over members of our squads for the weekend. Those doubts still linger, although we have had reassurance on some of the big names.
They don’t come much bigger than Robin Van Persie who, according to Sir Alex Ferguson, “should be fit” for United’s trip to Norwich, though Wayne Rooney and Jonny Evans remain doubts.
Arsene Wenger has plenty of injury worries, with Mikel Arteta and Olivier Giroud added to his list of doubts this morning.
Roberto Di Matteo has fewer concerns – John Terry is expected to be sidelined for around three weeks with the knee injury sustained against Liverpool last Sunday, while Frank Lampard is again unavailable due to an ongoing calf problem. Staying in West London and Mahamadou Diarra is a “big doubt” for Fulham’s home game with Sunderland, while Kieran Richardson is out for around 10 days with a hamstring problem.
QPR welcome back Fabio and Kieran Dyer to their squad, though Bobby Zamora is struggling and Ji-Sung Park remains sidelined with a knee problem.
Swansea and Newcastle both have a stack of injuries going into their clash on Saturday, although there was no mention of Demba Ba’s shin injury from Alan Pardew’s list of worries, leading us to accept that he’s available for the meet with the Swans. Michael Laudrup has a number of concerns, some of which he’s keeping to himself, although there’s a suggestion that both Leon Britton and Ashely Williams are the latest knocks to trouble the Dane’s preparations.
We’ve collected all this and squeezed it into our team news section and added our current predicted lineups for the weekend ahead. You can keep in touch with the very latest via our twitter feed as always.
