Having rolled out our Totelfootball selections for Tuesday and Wednesday’s Champions League games earlier this week, we decided to revisit the performances of our respective sides in our bid to win some cash. Here’s how we fared…

With a handful of out of position prospects in our ranks, we had high hopes heading into Tuesday’s proceedings. The ability to tinker with our selection after the team sheets were announced saw us draft in Eden Hazard for Juan Mata, after news came through of the Belgian’s role up front. We also swapped out Juventus Mauricio Isla for team mate Stephan Lichsteiner – both were classified as defenders, though it was the latter who got the nod on the right of his side’s midfield five.

Shakhtar’s Henrik Mkhitaryan was the biggest disappointment. He drew a blank as his side scored five times at FC Nordsjaelland, with Luiz Adriano scoring a hat-trick and Willian bagging a double and assist. More frustratingly, that duo only had three and two shots respectively; Mkhitaryan had six efforts, more than the pair combined, yet failed to add to his four-goal tally this season.

In the end, our single goal came from an unlikely source. We had selected Ezequiel Garay mainly for his clean sheet potential ahead of the visit of Celtic but the centre-half instead found the net in a 2-1 home win. Our decision to draft in Lichsteiner at the last minute afforded us our only clean sheet in a night where only two host sides managed to keep out their opponents. With 56 points to our name, we crawled home in 76th spot.

Wednesday saw a marked improvement from the previous night’s shambolic display. At one point our XI looked to be in with a real shout of winning it but eventually settled for 15th spot, with 95 points – a single point from some prize money. At the back, Porto keeper Helton, PSG Thiago Silva and Schalke’s Christian Fuchs are returned clean sheets; the latter also notching the only goal against Olympiacos for a 15-point haul, while Milan full-back Mattia De Sciglio grabbed an assist for his side’s opener at Anderlecht.

In midfield, three out of four found the net. Porto’s Lucho Gonzalez and Dortmund’s Marco Reus vindicated out faith, while Stephan El Shaarawy of Milan went one step further with a goal and assist in a 3-1 win in Belgium. Zlatan Ibrahimovic provided us with an assist in for PSG’s opener in Dynamo Kiev, though a surprise blank for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar dented our hopes of picking up the pennies.

We were trialling TotelFootball for this round of the Champions League matches and, with the official game still “experiencing problems”, we’re considering continuing to support it over the remaining rounds. Let us know your thoughts on this and any feedback you have on the game if you got involved.

For those still curious, you can still sign up for an account and give it a whirl for this weekend’s round of Premier League matches.

If you want to know more on how the game works, check out our original article.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    So I have a real dilemma, hopefully you guys can help out

    Begovic (mannone)
    baines rafael cueller (davies demel)
    michu cazorla sterling nasri (fellaini)
    Berba RVP Ba

    Have 1FT and 0.6m in the bank.

    I was initially concerned with nasri and had the following choices:
    A: nasri >> valencia
    B: nasri + ba >>> lennon (or AJ) + tevez…with a hit
    C: nasri + ba >>> morrison/walters + suarez…with a hit
    D: nasri to lennon this week and ba to tevez next gw
    E: save the transfer

    I opted for E since i wanted to keep Ba this week against shampton whereas suarez has 2 tough away games and tevez might not score against city….especially with a hit. SO the plan was to do 2 transfers next gw depending on how Ba performs.

    HOWEVER, i was informed that all the teams that have a home game this gw will also have a home game next gw (midweek)…that changes things slightly as it would make more sense to use the transfer now to take advantage of the 2 home games someone i bring in will have coupled with the fact that i am not sure nasri will start this weekend.

    Sorry for the essay but wanted to provide some reasoning….

    I am leaning towards to my initial decision of choosing B as choosing C would leave me with no city/chelski/spurs coverage

    all comments welcome:)

      You can afford to keep Nasri for one more week. Keep the transfer and have more flexibility with 2 FT's next week.

      He's only out for a week. If you have Fellaini and Walcott then maybe there's a case for moving him on as it may leave you short....but Walcott can score very big when he's fit....and could come back to haunt you in gwk 14

    Playing a different game, but stakes are high! You can get a pretty good team together (but so can everyone else). I've used 6/25 transfers for the season - is there anyone who should definitely join/leave this team??

    Krul

    Baines
    Ivanovic
    Verm
    Huth

    Bale
    Fellaini
    Cazorla
    Michu

    RVP
    Tevez

    What do you think?

    Gotta love the FA. They clear Clattenburg of racial abuse for lack of evidence and, in their official statement, justify the dismissal of the evidence they did receive, the statement from Ramires, on the basis that 'English wasn't his first language'. If that's not racial prejudice then I honestly don't know what is.

    Banana, Pisang.
    Musa acuminata Colla; Musa balbisiana Colla; Musa x paradisiaca L.
    Family of Musaceae.
    Description & storage
    Long thick-skinned edible fruit that is yellow when ripe.
    Keep bananas on a fruit dish in the living room at room temperature. If you want the bananas to ripen faster place the bowl in the sun. Like other tropical fruits and tomatoes and bell peppers, never store bananas in the refrigerator. Below 8 degrees Celsius the fruit will decay from the inside. These fruits will not ripen but will turn black in the refrigerator.

    Plant
    Banana-plants can grow up to 15 m. but most plants vary from 3 to 9 m.
    It has very big leafs that can grow to 4 x 1 m.

    Short history
    Wild forms of the banana plant come originally from the Indo-Malaysian area and are now cultivated all over the tropical and sub-tropical continents.

    Use
    Bananas are delicious eaten with one's fingers after peeling off the skin. Depending on the type of banana unripe bananas are also cooked, fried or deep-fried a lot. Bananas are the basic food in many tropical countries.

    Types
    At this moment there are five different types of bananas common on the market:

    Red bananas: have a green/red peel and pink fruit flesh. They taste the same like yellow bananas. The redder a fruit, the more carotene it contains, so maybe they are healthier than their yellow colleagues;
    Fruit-bananas: are the normal, yellow bananas, 15-30 cm.
    Apple-bananas: are smaller, 8-10 cm., and ripen faster. They are also yellow;
    The baby-banana (pisang susa): is yellow as well and measures 6-8 cm. It is the sweetest of the banana family;
    Baking bananas: are 30 to 40 cm. large and are green, yellow or red-like. They cannot be eaten raw. They fulfill the role of the potato in the tropical countries.
    Peculiar characteristics
    Is the most well known and eaten (tropical) fruit;
    In Eastern Africa you can buy banana beer. This beer is brewed from bananas;
    Tropical fruit is usually picked unripe and has to ripen in the land of arrival. To make this process go faster bananas are treated with ethylene-gas. Normal bananas also ripen through ethylene -gas but exposing it to additional gas accelerates the process;
    Is the (only) fruit that for some people can work fatting because they contain a lot of starch (more starch than sugar). Those people shouldn't eat too many bananas a day;
    Eat at least one banana a day, they are said to contain everything a human needs and they contain all the 8 amino-acids our body cannot produce itself. For more see the energy in fruit.
    Bananas are a good source of fiber, potassium and vitamin C;
    Red bananas are often dried and converted to meal which is used in many ways;
    Red bananas contain more vitamin C as yellow bananas (the redder a fruit, the more nutritious elements it contains);

      When you have an injury you should always use 2 transfers if you can because your strategy has been interfered with.

      lose Walcott and Ivan for Cuellar and Silva

    I'm struggling with this one guys.

    I was going to get AJ in for Walters this week, but I need to get Marc Wilson out (for Clyne or Fonte), preferably before his price falls again.

    For this weekend, would you rather have:

    A) AJ (WBA) and Hughes(sto)/Gorkss(wig)

    B) Walters (FUL) and Clyne/Fonte(NEW)

    Also, I quite like Clyne's attacking threat, but is Fonte a big threat from set pieces?

            Basically, I just want to replace Marc Wilson today, before he drops. Then I can get AJ in next GW instead. After all, Walters (FUL) could be better than AJ (WBA) in any case.

      Imagine if it turns out Clattenburg really did say it (under his breath). He'd be feeling pretty smug right now.

      But yeah, he's been officially proven innocent, so they should eat humble pie and do the right thing. It hasn't been a good few days for Chelsea. They're looking like a real joke of a club.

    Also Rooney (c) with those 2 home games vs QPR & West Ham.
    Berba is supposedly out for the weekend because his 2nd child was born. But waiting for confirmation before I do the transfers.
