Mark Mark
Share:

QPR have confirmed they have terminated the contract of Mark Hughes “with immediate effect”. The decision follows last week’s defeat at the hands of fellow-strugglers Southampton, with the London outfit now sitting four points adrift at the bottom of the Premier League.

Despite continued backing from owner Tony Fernandes over his safety, it’s no surprise to see Hughes leaving Loftus Road. Without a win this term, QPR have managed a single clean sheet and have netted just twice in the past five Gameweeks.

Mark Bowen and Eddie Niedzwiecki will now take charge for tomorrow’s trip to United but the possible replacements are already building up, with Harry Redknapp favoured by many. Indeed, the Telegraph are so confident of this transpiring, they reckon an appointment could happen today.

With games against Sunderland, Villa and Wigan to directly follow the Old Trafford match, QPR are handed the perfect chance to secure crucial victories against their fellow-strugglers. Despite a summer of investment, Hughes seemed unable to instill any consistency to confidence into his charges and his continual first-team tinkering proved detrimental to his own fate in the end. With the likes of Julio Cesar, Stephane Mbia, Esteban Granero and Adel Taarabt amongst their ranks, though, the quality is clearly there, though – if results pick up under the new man in charge, they could be instrumental in turning a hugely disappointing season around.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I would be tempted to sell - but I don't think you have the cash to upgrade, so it'll have to be another mid-price. But you've already got the best two in that bracket - not an easy choice...perhaps Valencia? He's under performing but you couldn't hope for a better fixture.

2FT and no cash in bank.
Haven’t made changes in 2 weeks because I see no way I can except in my defence but I think the attack outweighs the defence.

Would Ba > Giroud, Caz > Silva/Theo, Haz > Mata be better in the coming weeks? Would like both a Chelsea player because all teams do well under new managers but also want Silva.
Also on Haz v Mata, Haz has been a lot more productive so I am not sure what is with the Mata love here. Haz will outscore him come end of season. Not sure if I want to let go of Felli against anyone, same the case with Bale. Advice on team?

And if I keep not making transfers, do my freetransfers cap at an amount or do they just rack up?

As a counter arguement - what are you trying to get out of it?

if you are cashing in on sterling and upgrading elswhere it seems reasonable to me as I can see sideways moves for Marvaux (at cost) to Guthrie or Frei being available once he has run his useful course. Waste of transfers granted, but the rest of your team looks pretty solid so....?
