As Man United approach an eye-catching run of games which could potentially see Sir Alex Ferguson’s side rack up the Fantasy returns, Wayne Rooney has staked a strong claim for consideration after bagging a brace for the second Gameweek in succession. Rooney’s stock has suffered a significant drop this season due to the arrival of Robin Van Persie but as the campaign unfolds, he’s starting to look a real differential, with many Fantasy managers even considering both forwards for a run of games which sees the Red Devils welcome Sunderland, Newcastle and West Brom to Old Trafford, in addition to trips to Swansea and Wigan in the next five:

A is the obvious choice aint it. so its better to have an extra big hitter in midfield rather than 3 big hitting strikers.

just tempted to captain ageuro vs reading in two games though as my main rival will and hes 63pts behind

lescott is fit and he is still gettign picked ovr him, so only has to fight with bad toure brother. For me at that price into city defence worht it for odd rotation. Just wish he would get involved more at corners.

gibbs plays for a team that you can't predict when they will get CS or let in 2 or 3. nasti plays for city, i think 4 CS in last 5 or something like that. Plus missing means prob 1 game at worst. so for me 5.5 and in city defence is good shout.

Alright gents and gals, this is my current team with 2 FT and £2.6 in the kitty:

    Al-Habsi (Ruddy)
    Rafael, Enrique, Wilkinson (Cueller, Demel)
    Cazorla, Michu, Fellaini, Sterling (Puncheon)
    RVP, Tevez, Fletcher

Am thinking a DEF downgrade to up Fletch to Suarez. All thoughts will be much appreciated.

Re RVP v Rooney, if both were the same price, who would you rather have?

I guess my question is whether the current trend for suggesting that Rooney is the better buy based on him being:

    1. better value for money

    2. likely to score more points overall

    3. both better value and likely to score more points?

I think its hard to tell. Given that rooney takes pens I feel they will score a similar amount of points over the remainder of the season. Currently rooneys edge is- more of a differ, better value for cash.

3....but only maybe score more points, I can't see there being much in it...I do think Rooney is now less likely to disappear into midfield with the return of Kagawa..and if other midfield options remain fit at UTD...

    Thoughts on the Norwich mids:

Snodgrass, Pilkington, Johnson and Hoolahan all seem to share the points between them, so is the argument then to get the cheapest one?

Who plays the most up front and has the lion's share of FK, corners and PKs?

It's nice to be reminded why I stopped coming on. Thought things might have changed a bit but it's still the same tripe being spouted. Can't enjoy a transfer without rent-a-degree's obligatory 20million posts about the matter.

The fact is only a fool wouldn't want 2 attackers from the most free scoring team in the league with the run of fixtures they have. If those two happen to both play up front so be it. Utd or gonna score goals, lots of em. They're going to be involved in the majority, either on there own or, please god, together. What's not too like. It may not work out but at the moment it seems like a no brainer to me.

    Anyway. I'm outta here.

It is possible that RVP had a nice run earlier in the season because Rooney was out so he was the undisputed goalscorer. Maybe we're stuck to mainly single figure returns now.

He had a perfectly good goal disallowed against Reading and a perfectly good assist ruled out against City. Both would have given him double figure scores.

Perhaps got a bit too specific there, basically, in general he may not hit quite the same heights he did last year. Plus he's more expensive. He was undisputed #1 striker at arsenal. He isn't at united, Rooney and Hernandez are both breathing down his neck.

Put it this way, if Aguero starts knocking them in for city, nailed on, Rooney and Aguero are looking like my heavy hitters.

Suarez, Defoe/Torres and Aguero is what i'm considering if that happens. Fergie likes 1-0 wins anyway

Rooney + RVP = Rooney more points

Rooney + Kag + RVp = RVP more points

People seem to be forgeting the second scenario

I never said Kags was an fpl prospect. Just his influence result in more points for RVP. Whole different concept

This is why I ditched him for Suarez and a better balanced midfield. He just won't be in the lion's share of points - especially now with Rooney firing on all cylinders - amongst the 4 Utd strikers and attacking mids (and Rafael) like he was at Arsenal.

    My Team:
    Jaaskelainen - Mignolet
    Rafael - Ridgewell - Cameron - Garrido - Shorey
    Cazorla - Michu - Fellaini - Ramirez - Sterling
    RVP - Suarez - Berba

    Thoughts?

Also can anyone remind me how to change my link? Want to change it to my team but it's on my football blog at the moment. Forgotten how.

Well, I'm two transfers away from total STO/WBA defensive rotation, three from each team.

And I already have three City players in my front eight.

So I'm starting to gather many eggs among very few baskets. Going to regret this, aren't I? 🙂
