We knew it was coming. After his moments of madness in Everton’s draw with Stoke on Saturday, Marouane Fellaini has been charged with violent conduct by the FA this afternoon and will now miss the next three fixtures over the festive period.

A statement on the Toffees official website revealed that while referee Mark Halsey saw two incidents involving both players – and deemed neither as “violent conduct” – he failed to see this headbutt , allowing the FA to retrospectively slap a ban on the Belgian.

Having notched eight goals and four assists so far, Fellaini’s loss will be a substantial one as David Moyes’ men take on West Ham, Wigan and Chelsea but from a Fantasy perspective, today’s news is equally crucial. The second most popular player in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Fellaini currently has 43% ownership but that is set to dramatically plummet as Fantasy managers quickly look to fill the void left by his impending absence.

As mentioned in our earlier Suspension Tightrope article, we’re already making plans to address the situation – a “Fellaini Exit Route” article is very much in the pipeline over the next day or so. Keep an eye open for that one.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I've got Aguero already and going to bring in Silva for Fellaini as can do without a hit.

Probably go Silva (C) and Aguero (VC).

Potentially a risky strategy. May change to RVP (VC).

    Hi guys.

In TFF, 15/30 season transfers left … last week I fielded 9 players and this week only 8 due to injuries, suspensions and a blank for Chelsea … must I use a transfer to switch Fellaini (to a budget option – Pilkington is my current favourite option) or could I hold and just go three weeks with 10 men?

Hi Paz, I think 3 games out justifies a transfer in TFF. I will be doing so. Not till Friday though so I have as much info as possible to work with, seeing as there's no price changes.

How many transfers have you got left? Stuck with Bale through his injury already due to a perceived lack in transfers and my gap at the top of my ML is slimming! Also, who do you plan on going for as a replacement (as price changes means Fellaini is still a budget option)?

Seems everyone is doing Felliani to Yaya, but I went with Felliani to Young. He has assisted in each of his last three games and Man U are scoring like crazy. I had Yaya earlier in the season and got nothing out of him and have no interests in going back.

you need to sell him IMO. 3 games in a week will result in plenty of rotation, and possible boxing day cancellations mean you will need all 3 subs in all likelyhood. It's madness to hold him.

I was going to downgrade Rangel to Demel to free up funds but according to the rail strike update it’d make more sense to do Hangeland to Baker as Fulham, West Ham, Arsenal and Southampton players won’t play. I also have Cazorla and Berba. Does that make sense?

    Thoughts on Fellaini -> Yaya:

Why not get a midfielder you can keep? Then when Fellaini returns you can consider upgrading/downgrading one of your other midfielders, depending on how things are going. If you get Yaya now you are ear-marking one precious FT for him, or restricting yourself to an early WC. This tube ruckos is causing problems though, so it's hard to find a good option in the right price range who doesn't have ACON, 4 YCs or potential blank GW.

According to a source close to the 23-year-old player, the TP Mazembe towering defender is in the country working on his visa and is expected to leave for England by the end of this week.

"I am not Sunzu's spokesperson but I can confirm he is scheduled to leave for England to finalise his pending transfer to Arsenal. He is right now working on his visa...his dream to move to England has finally come true," the source said.

Clean sheets this year have been a joke, no other team apart from Stoke are actually setting up from the of to not concede. The league is getting worse, its no coincidence we're not doing as good in Europe, as opposed to a couple/few seasons ago, where English teams were dominating. All English final etc etc

I miss Benitez at Liverpool. we used to go on long runs of not conceding, If I remember rightly, I think we went 11 games without conceding a single goal. Some crazy stat like that. The football wasnt brilliant at times but it was effective, but we were solid and efficient at the back, even with zonal. The league overall was much better tactically only just a few years ago. Now the gap has closed and small teams arent so "rolled over", but defensively the league has gone to pot. Its all about goals goals goals. The "We'll score more than you" mentality. High scoring games.

With that being said, predicting clean sheets has become somewhat of a lottery, the top teams concede nearly every game, and when you dont expect a team to get a CS, they go and get one! So with that in mind, I have gone all out attack and midfield for the remainder of the season. Just what is the point of spending big on any of your defence, with the league the way it now is? Leighton Baines for instance could well get, a 15 point game, but in the same game quite easily pick up a yellow and concede a couple of goals. So is it really worth the £? After weeks of patience, (and it will most likely blow up right in my face) I have moved Baines on. But I wont be gutted if he returns with something, in fact, I feel quite happy I have got rid.I still need to move on Mccarthy, but Begovic is doing sound enough, so I'm not worrying to much about that 2nd keeper injury. But with that defence problem in mind, this is what I have been able to achieve:

    Begovic (Mccarthy)
    Clyne Demel Garrido Clichy Morrison
    Michu Walcott Mata Silva Puncheon
    van Persie Ba Suarez

Is anybody else keeping the back line to a bare minimum? With that back 5 of mine, I'm really not bothered if they score low, its a bonus if they do get points and the occasional CS, the front 8 are going to make that up if they do all get 1/2 points each 1 week.

If you read all of this, have a gold star! (I dont post as much as some of you, so be kind 😉 )

I had a really low scoring game this week, I'm hoping Walcott plays tonight and does something so I can break average at least. Most of my defenders this week just got 2 points, in fact most of my players got 2 points. Weird week really. So with 2 FT in the bank, I've gone wild.

Midfield and attack is where its all at now, unless you have 3 Stoke players at the back.

Unheard of in todays Premier League! To think teams used to go on these sort of runs? Defenders score highly when they have that 6 points for the CS, but If they concede even 1 goal, that instantly decreases. This cant happen with your mids and forwards. Thats why I said the league was much better tactically, everything seems gung ho to me. So taking that into account, and seeing where the consistent points are coming from, unless you have a couple of Stoke defenders, you might as well throw all the money into your mids and forwards Which is what I have done.

Good post, considering this myself. I agree that CSes are scarce except for Stoke, but some defenders have that bit of attacking threat which could make it worth it. Still sticking it out with two expensive defenders here (Enrique and Baines), could very well change dramatically for January WC.

My team as it stands at the moment with 2FT's, currently waiting on whether Cazorla turns up tonight or not, and then hanging on until the last minute to see if Mancini puts up his team news before the Saturday deadline.

Where are the cracks within the team any suggestions ?

    Mignolet

    Demel - Shawcross - Nelsen - Bassong

Santi Cazorla - Sessegnon - Michu - Mata

Van Persie - Defoe - Suarez

    Bench:- Cerny - Fellaini - Morrison - (Def ???)

Even with reasonable returns in the last two game weeks of 8 & 5 points (yes one was a double) and with Southampton this week?
