Preview Movie – The Hall of Fame

As mentioned in our earlier Christmas message, we’ve got a couple of new content releases coming in the next week or so, with the addition of the Fantasy Football Scout Hall of Fame and the full implementation of the Rate My Team tool.

The first of these can be previewed in the movie below, in which I’m joined by Chris Atkinson, the creator of Rate My Team statistical model and the algorithm behind the Hall of Fame.

What is the Hall of Fame?
In simple terms, this is as ranking system which can be applied to everyone in our Fantasy Premier Leauge mini-leagues – both the free and the members league. The Hall of Fame tracks the performances of every manager over each of the seasons they have participated and awards a ranking according to the performances. We have a career table that updates every season and a live table that will be updated using the latest season data, after every Gameweek.

How is my rating calculated?
The “HoF Rating” is based on your points scores from previous FPL seasons, with the latest season weighted the heaviest and each corresponding season weighted at roughly 80% that of the previous season. So, in other words, those who performed best in 2011/12 will receive a bigger HoF Rating boost from those who did best in 2006/07. The “HoF Ranking” even allows for those with missing years, adapting the formula accordingly to allow to rank alongside the veterans of the FPL.

How do I join the Hall of Fame
Simply sign up to our leagues, either the Fantasy Football Scout Classic League (40184-13425), or if you’re a member, the Members Classic League – the code is available on the dashboard of the Members Area.=

How do I find myself in the Hall of Fame?
The search box at the top of the ranking tables allows you to search by surname or by FPL id.

What if I don’t want to be listed?
Either notify us via support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk or simply leave the Fantasy Football Scout league and you’ll be removed on the next update.

When does the Hall of Fame get updated?
The Career table is available to all and is updated at the end of each season to display the latest rankings.

The Live version of the Hall of Fame is updated every week to use the latest season data. This version will only be available to our members in the Members Area. If you wish to get access to the live version, you can sign up as a member – our half season membership and membership rates are due to go live on January 1.

When will the Hall of Fame be available?
All being well, we are rolling out the Hall of Fame, together with the full implementation of Rate My Team, for January 1.

      If i were you, which im not, I would do SUarez to Benteke, and upgrade Puncheon to Pienaar, since it wont cost a thing. January is right round the corner. Im not sold on Liverpool, regardless of this past weekend. Im ditching Suarez.

    Don't think saf will rest Rvp or Rooney tomorrow.
    First, a tough home game that will require boths skills.
    Second, why rest them tomorrow and then bring them back to risk getting a yellow on 29 th? Better playing them both now and let the one who eventually gets the yellow, rest during the ban against WBA 😉 rocket science, I wish 😉

    Nice work on the new feature, Mark.

    I must admit it wouldn't be useful for those, like me, who have technically 'played' a season but didn't bother with it after a certain time and thus led a ghost ship for the majority of that season. I am referring to last season where for unforeseen circumstances I missed a couple of weeks and hence 'gave up'.

    As a result, I came in at 700,000th+ which would have a big impact on my overall HOF ranking. It's just one of those things I guess, but had that been 'N/A' year, I would have got a slightly greater score given the performances in my other two active seasons (17,000th and 21,000th respectively).

    I'd probably suggest requesting that year to go down as 'N/A', but then where do you draw the line? i.e. you may then get lots of people claiming the same thing when in fact they just did shit.

      I didn't give up but quite a few years back I would win my mini-leagues, and then just close shop. It's only in the past 3-4 seasons, that I started caring about overall rank.

      But nevertheless still feel it's a really cool feature.

        Oh of course, it's certainly very nifty and I will use it, just get the feeling it wouldn't do me justice though given my performance, or lack of, last season. Thus, I'd be coming in a lot further down than I perhaps should be.

        However, it doesn't particularly bother me, it's just something that they would find difficult to control and perhaps a consideration for certain years that should effectively be non-played years.

        Baines is a punt..they havent kept a clean sheet in quite a while have they. But with corner kicks and spot kick duties, you never know, he might work out
