Today’s big news is that Michu has been ruled out of Swansea’s trip to Fulham tomorrow after picking up an ankle injury at Reading on Boxing Day. Michael Laudrup remains uncertain whether his top goalscorer will be ready to face Villa on New Year’s Day, stating he may be available “with a little luck”.

Luis Suarez has been passed fit to turn out for Liverpool’s trip to QPR as both sides look to bounce back from Boxing Day defeats, while Harry Redknapp is hopeful Ryan Nelsen can shake off a virus in time for Sunday’s game. Carlos Tevez failed to train due to illness yesterday but “should” be fit, according to City assistant boss David Platt. Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri are both back, though Mario Balotelli is likely to miss out with illness once again.

Over at United, Sir Alex Ferguson hopes to have Ashley Young and Danny Welbeck available after they missed out against Newcastle. Phil Jones will be assessed, while Shinji Kagawa could make the bench, according to his manager, who also ruled Wayne Rooney out “for at least another two games”. Jonas Olsson, Youssouf Mulumbu and Goran Popov are all “major doubts” for West Brom ahead of their Old Trafford visit, though.

The injuries mount up for Paul Lambert as Villa prepare for the visit of Wigan. Andreas Weimann and Nathan Baker have been ruled out for the midlands outfit as they look to bounce back from a couple of recent hammerings.

We’ve collected all this in our team news section and added our current predicted lineups ahead of the weekend’s fixtures. You can keep in touch with the very latest via our twitter feed as always.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

If someone had said at the start of the season "Norwich would have more clean sheets than United by Christmas" we would've laughed in their face...

Cazorla is the safer bet as he's a guaranteed to start whereas Walcott isn't guaranteed to start but could get you higher returns as he may play OOP. I have both.

Sheer differentials. Ruiz is back, and in the whole, and I couldn't afford to keep Berbatov when i brought in bale and Walcott and Rvp, and Chicharito will be great value til the Jan WC watch!

I could make .5m off him the next month here. Fingers crossed.

Reckon he could get 10-13pts this weekend, and again v Wigan.

Making money to shuffle up in January.

Hits havent been my problem. Wrong players at the right time, right players at the wrong time, and poor (unfortunate and head-scratching!!!!!) captain choices have hurt.

If I take a 4-8-12 pt hitter and end up with a 70-80 pt week, as opposed to not taking a hit and getting 32, 40, 38, then I am all for it. I must be averaging 30-35 pts a week this season. Just not even close enough to being good enough.

You can't tell me that with United's fixtures, Rooneys injury, and Fulhams fixtures, that those 3 forwards don't stand to make a lot of points for the next few weeks!! Only til January. WC major change up.

Im just trying to get some differentials in my team for a few weeks.

Hardly anyone in my league has Bale, nobody has Walcott (yet), one person has Hernandez, nobody has Ruiz (and hardly anyone Berba), even Mata is is a differential as most have Hazard.

So if I go Mata over Caz (and assume that both Caz and Theo is too much for DGW I’d be 0.1 short as i have 0.2 in the bank. As it happens i was planning Shorey to Demel anyway which would free up the 0.1 needed. So the question is

    a) Get Caz over Mata then get Mata back on wc

    b) Get Mata and just hope he doesn’t rise

    c) Sell Rafa over Shorey thus freeing up more than enough cash

I suppose the main question is, is Caz and Theo too much for DGW?

I have Theo atm, wanted Caz but had to sell him to Theo in order to find Ramirez to Bale. I'm looking at shipping Silva after this GW so it's simply a matter of Mata or Caz. if i get Mata I might have to sell Rafa to make it happen

Two reasons why you should not do this:

          a) Villa, as a whole team is awful

Play Jussi (Reading Away) or Mignolet (Spurs at home)? Mignolet was epic the other day, but I brought in Bale so they'd be cancelling each other out.

Not cancelling each other out, if Migs gets a CS and you've benched him, then you only get Bale's 2. If he doesn't, chances are bale will be involved. Personally i don't buy this freshness thing for West Ham or Arsenal, it didn't do Saints much good.

    A bit confused(as usual:D)

Have opted to do silva >> Walcott as opposed to Rafael >> sagna with the aim to free funds to upgrade tarabt to Nolan next week.

Bt then I thought Abt it....sagna + silva is better then cueller + Walcott...in which case I should do Rafael >> sagna...

So I think I'm going to take many of your's advice/strategy and go with a cheaper 5 set of Defenders.

For many weeks now, I've been playing Shawcross - Nastasic - Baines (Nelsen, 3.8 nobody).

Yesterday I took a flyer on Baines >> Luiz, see how he does. But with the January WC, thinking I will go with:

Two guys at 5.5: Shawcross - Nasty
Then any number of the 4.5 and under guys like Cuellar, WHU, Mert, Gibbs, Clyne, Davies, etc.
