It’s 2013 and time for Fantasy Football Scout to wish all our visitors and community members a very happy New Year!

Once again, I’d like to personally extend a huge thanks to those who have worked and continue to work with me on this site, across the various iterations and guises over the years. Every year that passes I have to pinch myself at how far we’ve come and it’s no different this past twelve months. The progress we’ve made and continue to make with this site is down to the passion and commitment of those who have lent their time behind the scenes and, without question, the obsessive passion and support of a community which I’m convinced is one of the best to be found anywhere on the net. Many thanks.

I look forward to 2013 with great anticipation. We’ve big plans to move things on, not least on the community side with a new comments system which will hopefully provide so much more than just plain comments – we’re custom building it to provide the backbone of the site and a platform for the community to grow stronger, both in terms of the content provided and the links between community members and the site. I can’t wait to start showing you progress – hopefully in January, certainly in February, when we plan to start recruiting beta testers. More on that to come.

Wherever you are tonight, I hope you get home safely and with sober heads for the morning. There’s a deadline to meet and another Gameweek to test us. Here’s to a great 2012 and an even better 2013.

        I just noticed your score and that you're still quite new to the game so here's some advice for free
        
        You have MUCH too much money in defence...the big points mostly come from strikers and AMC's
        
        that's why you're going to see a TON of WC's with
        
        RVP/Suarez(or similar)/Lambert(or cheaper)
        Mata/Bale/Walcott/Fellaini/Michu
        
        get your cash up front

        yeah...my WC suggestion ignores fixtures but you need to consider that it will be hard to compete for good captain choices against the RVP owners...if you're struggling for cash you could go for Rooney instead when he's fit but I don't think he's as good
        
        I would also advise
        
        Begovic + Bunn (or other cheap)
        Cameron/Cuellar/Garrido/cheap/cheap
        
        obviously if you have more cash then get Nastasic and/or Gibbs or somebody like that
        
        I think a team like that would be way better than yours

      you should sell Bale and get Puncheon on the bench...Bale has 2 fixtures in the next 3 weeks...Cazorla has 4...it might be better to get Fellaini because his next 2 fixtures are better than Cazorla's but that's a tricky decision...then you can save your transfer and get Cazorla for the DGW along with somebody like Nolan or Podolski to raise the cash
      
      Arsenal and West Ham both have good fixtures so that's the route I'm taking

      Bale definitely has potential to beat him. Since you can see that in him at 23 it should be "with ease" when he has (presumably) 5/6 years to develop to his peak.

        Hell yeah he would. That's a rubbish argument. He isn't central enough (positionally) for Spurs to focus their attack on him. He owns the left wing in his own right. You could have said the same about Ronaldo at United. Bale would be our best player too if United bought him imo. (A team that has a developed Rooney and RVP).

        He is good, but bale at 27 will not be a 50 a season machine. Ronaldo is the ultimate player who will score goals wherever he goes. Hes super attacking with loads of passion, his cockyness only pushes him on. Bale will always be a good winger but but inconsistently, lack of confidence, and staying at a lesser club will see him never being the best player in the world.
