In case you missed last night’s message – happy new year to you all!

There’s no time to shake the fuzzy heads, 2013 starts right here for Fantasy managers with seven Premier League matches and another 11.30 deadline ahead of us. This is the final straight of what has been an exhausting but exhilarating festive spell and, as always on deadline day, we’ve opened up our Matchday Surgery chatroom for one last time before the break for FA Cup football next weekend. No shouting please.

Our first Dugout Discussion of the year follows at 12.30 ahead of Fulham’s trip to West Brom. Sadly, there’s no preamble this morning – I’ve been up early, sans hangover, tinkering and testing Rate My Team and the Hall of Fame for roll out later today. It’s looking good and we should be live with those features shortly after the final whistle from today’s three o’clock matches.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Since there is no podcast here is my miffed.

    I did Nastasic->Davies last week to pave the way for Puncheon->Fellaini but have completely revised my plans due to Bale and Enrique. Fellaini was always my transfer

    Mark did Bale->Fellaini. I'll be utterly distraught if that comes off again.

    His last transfers have been

    GW19) Caz->Bale (due to the boxing day cancellation)
    GW20) Rooney->Berbatov & Puncheon->Walcott (due to the Rooney injury). His original transfer was Dzeko->Berbatov.

    That is about 50 points he's gained partly through circumstance. Anyone else would have done the same.

        Walcott transfer based on declining to take a hit last week to get him in for Silva. That was a terrible mistake.

    Am I the only one that thinks michu won't start. It's not so much a case of can he play but after graham did do well and Swansea got such a good win without him, surely they won't risk him in a relatively straightforward game unless he's at 100%.

      I know villa have been rank but surely Lambert will have been drilling them defensively and Michu is a risk, Personally i dont see Laudrup taking what would appear to be an unnecessary risk with him. A start on the bench makes much more sense imo. Bring him on only if he really needs a goal in the last half hour or so.
