Britain is under a blanket of snow casting doubt over the weekend programme, while Lukas Podolski is, literally, under the weather. The German striker turns to Facebook to drop a minor bombshell: he missed training today but hopes to be fit for Sunday’s trip to Stamford Bridge.

Elsewhere, Jonny Evans is ruled out for United’s trip to Spurs, who themselves look set to be without William Gallas at the back: he remains a doubt with a calf problem. Sergio Aguero is fit and in the mix for the visit of Fulham, Joey O’Brien and Mark Noble are available to take on West Ham’s two fixtures and Southampton sign defender Vegard Forren in time for Monday night’s clash with Everton. The Norwegian joins the Saints new regime on a landmark day at St Mary’s, as Mauricio Pochettino takes the reins from the dismissed Nigel Adkins.

All this and more is collected and collated in our team news section, where you’ll also find our updated predicted lineups.

Rate My Team and the members projections have also been updated to reflect the very latest.

We’ll keep you informed of any new information via our twitter feed, as always.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Berbatov and Huth to Podolski and O'Brien for -4? I've got Demel Cazorla and Sagna already.

Ye you're probably right. I'm just a bit worried about Cazorla missing out on the points but I'm not sure it's worth the hit for Podolski.

What you don't have Walcott?! Also, did this article not say Pod is under the weather?

I'd still be very surprised if Podolski didn't start both and worst case scenario is he just starts the West Ham game. The only way I'd really get Walcott is to take out Mata or Cazorla and that could come back to bite me. You think he's that important?

I honestly think if he starts against chelsea, he won't be in the starting line up on wed.

Now that he's likely to miss out/start on the bench, he shd start against west ham(the game where u would actually want him to start)

Very disappointed with Southampton for getting rid of Atkin, team playing well, unbeaten in last 5 ( four away games ) draws against arsenal, Chelsea, stoke and fulham and a win against villa. Brought through some good players and playing with confidence. Hope they don't regret it!

It is not out of the question that further Premier League matches may be rescheduled. During the heavy snow in December 2010, top-flight encounters between Chelsea and Manchester United as well as Blackpool v Tottenham were postponed, with it being deemed unsafe for the clubs and fans to travel to the grounds.

Berbatov>Pod. would get rid of Berb anytime anyway. those who got rid of Ba should feel that anxious feeling tho.

So what's the consensus on the number of dgw players?

I have got three: demel, gibbs, walcott

Tempted to get some more but there doesnt seem to be any obvious transfer

Cazorla if you want safe game time, Pod if you want a risky differential, and Giroud if want to go bonkers 😀

I would be looking at one of:

          A azplicueta to obrien
          B ba to pod/giroud
C bale to cazorla (would probably involve getting bale back after dgw)

Zab for short term fixtures, Rafael for nailed on "ness" 🙂

Sadly City are keeping more clean sheets, so Zab is capable of clean sheets, assists and goals, while Rafael is not a clean sheet candidate, but is an attacking threat.
