The Scout League has yet another new leader in the Sky Sports game this week, as a familiar name climbs to fourth to give chase to our top three. We give a shout-out to our top managers in this game, whilst examining the recent transfer trends and looking ahead to tonight’s friendly with the Fantasy Football Club…

The Scout League

Paul McAnulty is our new Scout League leader, his “Housewives Favourite” lineup holds a slender four-point advantage over Chris Pearce’s “UtakaDefoeKingPearce” squad in second, with former leader, Simon Davies, running third with his “Nags Head Rovers” side – just six points off the summit.

A new name gives chase to that trio – although Pascal Evans is a community member who might be well known to some. Winner of the Scout Metro league and overall Metro game a few seasons back, Pascal sits fourth in the Fantasy Football Scout FPL Career Hall of Fame, ahead of the aforementioned Chris Pearce who sits in tenth, so is a manager of some pedigree. Pascal ominously moves fourth, some 23 points back on our leader but with momemtum on his side having scaled the ladder at pace in recent weeks.

In the overall rankings, Paul McAnulty sits in fifth place, with plenty of work to do if he is to get within touching distance of the grand prize of £25k: Paul is now 89 points off the summit, with Simon Ward leading the overall game by a huge margin. With six managers in the top twenty, Fantasy Football Scout’s private league still leads the way – currently 15 points ahead of our nearest rival.

In terms of Scout contributors, my team has now passed Andy’s “Gylfi Pleasures” lineup in the rankings to climb to 63rd in the Scout League, while Granville’s “FC Granville B team” also climbs, sitting in 73rd with Andy dropping to 97th place.

A reminder that if you’re playing the Sky Sports game and have yet to join our league, you can sign up to the FFScout League with this Pin: 8004519. We have a home cinema system, worth £600, available to the winner.

Market Trends

Despite drawing a rare blank in midweek, Robin Van Persie has been the “most wanted” player this week, being party to over 46% of the trades made in the past seven days. Three goalkeepers are also included in the top five most popular transfer targets, as Joe Hart, Asmir Begovic and Simon Mignolet all featured heavily in transfers plans. Interestingly, however, Begovic suffered losses this week for the first time this season – the Stoke stopper was also part of over 21% of transfers out made in the past week off the back of 16 goals conceded in the last six league outings.

Theo Walcott has proved the most attractive midfield acquisition- he fired his third goal in as many matches in the 2-2 with Liverpool in midweek. Walcott has been subject of 23% of transfers made this week and has been the chief benefactor from the fallout from Eden Hazard’s three-match ban. Chelsea’s midfielder, whilst still being owned by 36% of managers in the game, was shipped out as part of 49% of sales this week – a huge exodus. Luis Suarez and Jermain Defoe have been the other notable players to suffer significant transfer losses – both were transferred out as part of 19% of the total sales.

The Fantasy Football Club – Tonight 10pm

John Ruddy may well reveal more on his likely return date as he makes an appearance for the Fantasy Football Club this evening. The Canaries stopper joins Fenners and Merse, who will also be joined by the opinions of former Crystal Palace chairman, Simon Jordan: it’s rarely dull when he’s about. Crash into the Fantasy Football Club dressing room at 10pm on Sky Sports one tonight, or catch the repeat on Sky Sports two on Saturday at 9am.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

He looks like he could be a real bargain. Assist machine in the No.10 position.

But the sensible play is to wait for at least a couple of weeks and see how much gametime he gets, and where. He is competing with quite a lot of options around that No.10 slot

Not sure yet. Was okay this time had Andy's team in front of me and could have a look myself aswell. But later on I imagine it will become to much talking about past ups and downs for my part. What I want from the Scoutcast is more about what is going on in the world of fantasy football right now. 😕

Alreet lads. Gutted about the mata news. On so many levels. I would have been really confident of a toon win, with both Mata and Hazard out, and it would have solved my WC dilemma!

If I want a liverpool defender (to go with suarez and sturridge), I need to go without either mata or bale for 3 games. This would also allow me to have fellaini for AVL. Blank WIG mci, for Mata would have made the decision easy. Should I stick with the plan? Drop Bale instead? Or just get another cheapo defender instead of liverpool, and both Mata and Bale (no Fellaini)?

have to have mata much more consistent than bale & key to chelsea

Spurs can score from lennon / defoe / dempsy where as chelsea its always either mata or hazard

    Bego/ 3,9GK
    Clyne / R.Martin / Davies / Monreal / Samba
    Michu / Guthrie / Mata / Walcott / Bale
    RVP / Suarez / Aguero

0,3M in the bank in case i consider J.Enrique in for the DGW

    A) Kun>Sturridge

    C) Felaini>Taraabt & Azpil>GJ

I've asked this before but it got lost but would you rather have Ba or Anchiebe for this gameweek? The move is to fund for Gerrard next GW but not sure whether to do it now or wait.

Anchiebe should be good for a start against a poor team. Ba can be explosive but not a certain starter. Got a horrible feeling as soon as I ditch Ba he'll get double figure returns.

Guys need a defender this week for 5.6 really dont want davies anymore. The plan was all along to get Enrique but I am .1 short. So I am considering some random players in there: Fabio, Samba, Johnny Evans(but not playing this week would cost me as my backline only has 2 fit players). Rangel as a differential too but not sure if he is nailed on, or Carragher.

Another spin of the WC roulette wheel:

    Bego Boruc
    Zabs Enrique Davies Onuoha Harte
    Mata Walcott Michu Fellani Taarabt
    RVP Giroud Strurridge

Too much Arsenal maybe? Giroud > Remy, Taarabt > Sliva/Bale?

Hmmnnn, bit of a dilemma.. Wildcard activated, and have only made a couple of changes. I’m drawing a complete blank now I’ve activated it!! And probably not going to have RvP at all this season. I’m not paying 14.1m for him. I’m doing okay without him so far. My team is as follows:

    Vorm, Begovic

    Davies, Zabaleta, Shawcross, Evra, Clyne

    Michu, Fellaini, Mata, Walcott, Puncheon

    Fletcher, Tevez, Suarez

Fletcher a risk? Double Stoke given their form? Double Swansea too?

ShawX > Onuoha, Fletcher > Remy, Vorm > Boruc

      Adds 2.5M or so.

Could really use some help - I have no idea what transfer to make this week. Here's my team:

    Szczesny

    Baines -- Zabaleta -- Davies -- Demel -- Harte

    Walcott -- Mata -- Fellaini -- Puncheon -- Marveaux

    RVP -- Suarez -- Berbatov

I have 1.5m in the bank and 1 FT.

My concerns: Berbatov injury; Marveaux playing time; upcoming DW for LIV and SWA.

Any suggestion as to what transfer I should do this week? Should I not make one at all?

    Thanks!

I just did, am trying to think of other options, but I don't get why you'd want to sell Davies before a DGW

+1 - I am going Enrique as well.

Would be lovely to see him show up on the wing as well a little more.

i'm leaning Davies. Hammers have looked inept lately, and Newcastle seem to be putting it together (on offense).
