How many do you go with? Three, four, five…maybe even more? Granville may not call this a “double Gameweek” but there’s little doubt that us Fantasy managers are giddy with the options before us. Those who have stocked up on Liverpool and Swansea will be left worried that their investment will fall flat and lead to inevitable points hits in Gameweek 27; those without ample coverage will be concerned that they’re about to be blown away. It’s a troubling scenario, made for discussion in our Matchday Surgery chatroom which is now open and ready to steer all your real-time chatter through until 12.30.

The Dugout Discussion will be underway following that, in preparation for the early kick-off at White Hart Lane. Right now, we’re just looking for our gloves and scarf before embarking on another pre-match preamble.

  There's been a week since the last match, then there's the cup game next weekend which presents a good opportunity to rest him. There's no reason he can't play both.

An idea is difficult to kill. Once it is planted in a head, it is near impossible to change. The idea caught in many people's head is that RVP can always be relied on to score huge numbers week in, week out. And that those that keep the faith will of course be rewarded.

The truth is that anyone who believes that his points will not take a dip with Rooney back is mistaken. Stats back this up, heck, his points over the past two weeks back this up. Of course RVP will still score highly, of course, but keeping him will not put you in any better position than anyone else because he is sharing points now and this damages his value. There are points in other players, not just him.

  I think this is probably right. Given the tv I have invested in him I will wait until I am sure someone else will provide his points at a lower cost. Aguero and Rooney have yet to persuade me, but I'm open to it.

  I've played around and compared their stats on the games which both players play and found Rooney is not that far behind to RVP. Actually, he is ahead is some cases. RVP offers more reliability due to his consistency before but we can see thats not always the case in recent weeks. And it is very obvious that RVP has his best mojo when playing without Rooney.
  
  That is the fact. But sometimes people hard to grasp that idea because of an original idea that going without RVP is a suicide mission. I still have that thoughts sometimes but with the stats backing me up I can see it more clearly. These few weeks will be crucial to decide how good RVP really is with Rooney back into the picture.

I get why Granville says this is not a “proper” DGW, in that Liv/Swans do not have 3 matches in 2 weeks, but that ignores the effect of transfers and the bench. What matters is how many matches the players in your first 11 have. So if you use your transfers and bench wisely then four (or so) of your first 11 in one week will have two matches, and then all of your first 11 in the next week will have a match, so you get 26 player/matches instead of the usual 22.

-4 for any other transfers - plus taking a minimum -2 hit next week if I don't spend another -4 to get back to 11 players starting.
