    Todd you still there? Your question was "Basically (I think) I need to find the standard deviation of a set of data knowing that there is a 0.95 probability that the data is between 600 and 625"

    OK, that means that the 95% confidence limits of the data are 600 (lower limit) and 625 (upper limit).

    And you know the confidence limits are mean - 1.96 * standard deviation and mean + 1.96 * standard deviation.

    So then
    upper limit - lower limit = 3.92 * standard deviation = 25.

    Therefore standard deviation is about 6.38. I think. If anyone thinks I've got it wrong, give the todd some love.
