Gareth Bale maintains his recent stunning form by grabbing the opener in the north London derby. Aaron Lennon seals victory with the second, as Theo Walcott is left to contribute the assist for Per Mertesacker’s consolation as the Gunners fall seven points behind Andre Villas-Boas’ side.

Bale Keeps Scoring
The Welshman was a huge Fantasy favourite ahead of yesterday’s derby clash. Top of the Captain Poll and transferred in by over 96,000 managers on the back of six strikes in his previous four appearances, Bale was amongst the goals yet again as Spurs stretched their lead over the Gunners to seven points. While Bale’s explosive capabilities have made him such an armband favourite in recent weeks, it’s his consistency that’s impressed the most – he has scored in all of his last five Gameweeks and earned maximum bonus in his last four – equalling Robin Van Persie’s best scoring run this season. He’s leapt in price by 0.6 in the past fortnight but with many Fantasy midfield favourites without a fixture next weekend, another substantial rise looks very much on the cards.

Sigurdsson Stakes a Claim
With Bale flourishing in a central role, Andre Villas-Boas now has a left flank conundrum on his hands. The Welshman’s move to the middle looks crucial to Tottenham’s attacking potential – Emmanuel Adebayor again drew a blank and has notched just twice this season, while Jermain Defoe climbed off the bench to continue a run which has now seen his serve up a single strike in his last 11 appearances. Having notched his first league goal of the season last weekend, Gylfi Sigurdsson was afforded a chance on the left as new boy Lewis Holtby dropped down to the bench and with Clint Dempsey still injured, the Icelandic international gave Villas-Boas plenty to ponder by supplying the assist for Bale’s opener. Sigurdsson has started just seven times this term but may have done enough to retain his place in the first XI as a buoyant Spurs roll up to Anfield next weekend. On the injury front, both Emmanuel Adebayor and Moussa Dembele were forced off but, according to post-match tweets, Villas-Boas is expecting both to be in the frame for Tottenham’s Europa League tie with Inter on Thursday.

Lennon’s Home Form
The right winger broke a four-match barren spell by slotting home a coolly-taken second to help seal victory yesterday. Granted, any Tottenham midfielder other than Bale is finding it difficult to justify any Fantasy interest but Lennon’s displays at the Lane have been pretty consistent – he has now scored or assisted in three of the last four in front of his own fans and continues to offer a decent mid-price differential.

Walcott in the Points Again
After a rare blank in last week’s home win over Villa, the Gunners midfielder produced the Fantasy points again, thanks to an assist for Per Mertesacker’s consolation. Walcott has impressed since cementing a regular starting berth back in Gameweek 11 – particularly on the road. He has now scored or assisted in each of his last seven away trips, though his owners will be a concerned over his lack of goals in recent matches; the winger has now gone four Gameweeks without finding the net. While Walcott has at least kept his points returns ticking over with assists, Olivier Giroud has now gone four league starts without any returns – a real concern for Arsene Wenger’s side. That last quartet of matches has seen Lukas Podolski drop out of the starting XI, with Santi Cazorla preferred to the German on the left and Jack Wilshere nailing down a role in the hole – Wenger may well decide to reshuffle his attacking options as the Gunners’ threat starts to dry up.

Arsenal Defensive Worries
It’s not just up front that Wenger’s side are struggling, though. Yesterday’s 2-1 defeat means they have now conceded in eight of their last 10, with only Stoke and Sunderland failing to score against the Gunners since the end of Gameweek 18. Having said that, before Sunday’s game, the Gunners had conceded just 11 goals on their travels, keeping five shut-outs – the best record in the league. Consistency is the issue, however and with a blank Gameweek on the horizon next weekend and a trip to Swansea to follow, owners of the likes of Wojciech Szczesny and Per Mertesacker may be considering their options. The home clash against Reading in Gameweek 31 and a double Gameweek 33 at home to Norwich and Everton on the horizon, may yet allow Wenger’s men to turn things around and give their defensive assets a stay of execution.

🙂 I am glad I am not the only one who captained Baines then. And a Reading fan as well. I figured we would lose the game but Baines' points would help soothe the pain. I didn't consider Coleman would steal the show. Out of the Members Cup as a result as well. Great Big Hairy Bollocks!

Szczesny Nicholls Clichy Rafael Mata Aguero Walcott

Depending on how Aguero gets along tonight think I will either do Aguero > Suarez although I'm tempted just to get in a keeper that plays and go with 9 players. Really not many players I want this week and am keen on a taking a hit for.

Is Mata to Michu worth a 4 point hit this weekend? Bear in mind that I will almost certainly want to sell Michu for Mata again for GW30. So need Michu to score more than 4 and he's only scored this three times since mid December!

Only if you have no points hits for the rest of the season. Next hit can be attributed to this extra transfer - so I reckon it's safe to assume that you'll need 8 points from this one week punt to break even. Deep, I know - but think about it...

I'd be nervous about getting in any of them. Michu hasn't done much lately, and tends to do best at home, and the Spurs/Pool game could easily be low scoring. Although if you have no Spurs cover, and really can't afford Bale, maybe not the worst idea...

seriously though. dgw's involving united (rvp, rooney, etc), city (aguero zaba etc) chelsea (mata hazard etc) arsenal (walcott caz etc) everton (afro baines etc). are going to be very profitable. realize how you have or would want a lot of those players in a single gw and then think of them having two fixtures. capitalizing on this chance could mean a lot of points for you

How do these transfers sound Mata > Sissoko and Podolski > Suarez for free? Gives me the team below. Worth taking a hit on anyone on my bench to field 11? Thanks.

    Bunn

    Harte - Johnson - Davies

    Bale - Michu - Puncheon - Sissoko

    Lambert - Suarez - ?????

    Begovic - Walcott - Zabaleta - Demel - RVP

Hey guys, haven't been on in a while. Fielding 8 next week then aiming for about 9/10 DGW players (providing the Manchester teams have a DGW).

    Bunn
    Harte/ Davies/ Johnson/ Wilson
    Michu(vc)/ Sissoko
    Remy(c)

Transfers for the next few weeks should be:

    For GW30: RVP --> Rooney/ Suarez
    For GW31: Sissoko --> Cazorla
    For GW32: Save transfer
For GW33: Save transfer (Double transfer for injuries, etc.)

    GW33 team would be:

    DDG
    Johnson/ Clichy/ Davies (maybe Sagna)
    Mata/ Cazorla/ Fellaini/ Walcott/ Michu
    Aguero/ Rooney

    Subs: Bunn, Remy, Wilson, Harte.

Holding them DGWers for a month will be risky Bow. For one week is fair enough but a month including internationals, cup, CL and Europa, injuries, suspensions etc. I know you've a savage rank so I guess it's from judging that risk well. Will be only down to 8 for next week though so hope it works well for you.

    Foster Begovic

    Samba Davies Martin ZABALETA DEMEL
    Michu Bale Puncheon FELLAINI WALCOTT
    Sturridge AGUERO RVP

6 out this week with 2FT. I'm concerned about Sturridge missing out again.

Aguero and Fellaini are gone for sure probably for Bentekkers/Suarez and Sissoko. I'd like to have 7 forwards next week which means taking a hit to lose either Walcott or RVP.

    First world problems.

i'd wait and see when the manchester games are rescheduled until but i might lose rvp for a hit just because there are more good forward options this week than mf options imo. suarez/cisse/benteke/lambert/lukaku all good options

Obviously if City play Wigan, I have no problems.

Sturridge over Suarez became a big problem when he got his knock. Suarez owners got fortunate there. I did consider doing RVP->Suarez last week but as a United fan it felt way too painful.

I wouldn't worry too much about being able to put 7 forwards out... You'll probably want Walcott or RvP back soon enough anyway so not sure it's worth the hit.

I can put 11 out with 1 transfer but might have to do 4 at the back as I don't really want to lose Mata or Wally.

    Off topic: Computer question

I keep getting warnings that my Recover drive (D:) is nearly full and to clear some space, but really the only file on it is the main backup one, which i'm pretty sure I can't do sh1t to.

My main drive has 777GB spare but the restore (50GB) one only has 11MB spare. Why would they give you such a large main drive and such a small restore drive? Anyway is there anything I can do or do I need to buy an external driive to use as the backup? Sorry if this is really retarded 🙂

Normally the recovery/restored data on your D drive is compressed. Depending on your disk partition software you may want to see if you can increase the size of your D drive partition.

Try running disk cleanup on the recover drive. Might find it is full of temporary files and such.

But yeah, might not be much you can except move it to another drive.

      Hey

In a nutshell, your 250 GB (guess) hard drive has been partitioned into 2 drives; c: and d, which are sharing the space (obviously the C: drive has been allocated more space.

You can add more space to a particular drive. If you want me to talk you through this let me know, also let me know what Operating System you are using.

      Cheers.

    My squad this week

    Foster
    Cameron* Davies Debuchy
    Taarabt* Puncheon* Michu
    Sturr*

so from these 8 players 4 could consevably not play. Just dropped to my season low rank too. Im beginning to lose patience with this game...

Similar problems here. Im taking the advice of people on here and not taking a hit for a defender.

Really? Im hitting clichy to Dawson and then it allows me cash to upgrade Taarabt to Walcott

If you need cash to make other moves, it would be a different scenario.

Assuming you're getting Theo next week, what other moves are you doing this week?

    Current team for GW 29:

    Bunn
    Martin Davies Clyne Harte O'Shea
    Michu Gerrard Bale
    Lambert Suarez

    (DDG Walcott Mata Pogrebnyak)

Already did Cameron to Martin. Would you do anything else for a 4 point hit or go with that team?

Captain is tough but looking at suarez or lambert atm. Thoughts?

If you can change Pog for a nailed on starter I'd do it. Other than that leave it.

    Help would be appreciated.

I have 9 players going in to the double.

    Begovic

    Turner Davies Mariappa Clyne (Zab)

    Bale Gerrard Puncheon (Mata, Noble)

    Suarez(c) (RVP, Pog)

£0.2 in the bank, 1 FT.

My rival has already made their transfer to get their points up to 9 players. He has a lead of 5 over me.

Can only really think of Noble to Gardner, but I'd have to hope Sunderland got a penalty really.

Should I keep the transfer and use it on doubles?

    Thoughts?

My defence atm is reid, clyne, davies, jevans and wilson. need to replace reid. torn between going budget on dawson or splashing out on j.enrique. anybody got any opinions? i know enrique has better fixtures and is good going forward but spurs defence is looking solid

Adding my lineup to the general mess.

    Bego

    Martin Davies Samba Cameron*

    Bale Puncheon

    Lambert Suarez

Demel Jussi Mata Walcott Fellaini RVP

Happy to do just 1 FT to hopefully get 10 out.

Thinking Fellaini or Mata to Michu or Sissoko?

Not taking hits and want to keep as many of the big guns as possible for the DGW coming.

Could be a nice move. Newcastle have Stoke then Wigan though, that is tempting me.

    Nedum Onuoha

Worth a -4 to draft in a defender, gives me 11 - would be Onuoha (doesn't play anyway) - don't like taking hits for defenders especially crap ones! (will have up to 4.3 million any ideas? - already have Wilson)

    Worth it?
