Having failed to score in each of his last four matches, Theo Walcott has been sold on by significant numbers of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers ahead of the weekend’s deadline. Similar to our other Monitor subject, Juan Mata, Walcott has been mainly sacrificed due to a blank Gameweek 29; over 54,000 have parted company with the Gunners wide man and, as a result, we cast an eye over his key attacking statistics in order to establish just why he has dropped in performance.

Prior to Gameweek 25, Walcott had served up a series of scintillating performances across his previous eight matches. Between Gameweek 17-24, he produced seven goals, five assists and 8 FPL bonus points – with attacking returns in all but one of those matches, a tally of 75 points, or 9.3 points per game (ppg), saw the bandwagon reach breakneck speed as he moved from 8.6 to 9.4 in price. Since then, although he’s managed to maintain his consistency by producing an assist in three of the last four, he has racked up 20 points over that period – dropping down to five ppt from Gameweek 25 onwards.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Have Bale, captain tonight, captain Sunday. By Sunday the pressure of captaincy will surely hinder his progress away to The Reds 😉

Evening all, re the Walcott debate I am thinking Santi is looking the better option for the run in. Has looked far more threatening in recent games. Anyone with me?
