The Premier League have this afternoon rearranged Fulham’s home game with Chelsea, which was initially set to take place on Sunday March 10, to Wednesday April 17 – or Gameweek 33 to you and I. At present, this gives both clubs a pair of fixtures that week, with Fulham travelling to Villa and Chelsea entertaining Tottenham at the Bridge beforehand.

This news comes with a caveat, though. If Chelsea beat United in their FA Cup Sixth Round replay on Monday April 1, their Gameweek 33 clash with Spurs will be postponed due to Semi-Final commitments and will require a new date – this would leave the Blues with just one fixture in Gameweek 33, while Spurs would face a blank. The Spurs match would need to be moved to a new Gameweek as this was initially scheduled for the weekend. Bottom line is Fulham now have a double Gameweek 33 regardless, though.

As the fixtures fall into place, the Cottagers are currently one of four clubs that will definitely face a pair of matches in Gameweeks 33, with Arsenal, Everton and West Ham also playing twice. The loser of the Chelsea – United replay will also face a double, though if United win at Stamford Bridge their trip to Stoke – scheduled for Gameweek 33 weekend – will be cancelled, leaving the Potters without a fixture that week, as United travel to West Ham in midweek.

In other words:

If Chelsea win the replay, United have a DGW33 and Spurs have a blank GW33.
If United win the replay, Chelsea have a DGW33 and Stoke have a blank GW33.

With both Swansea and West Brom both facing blanks in Gameweek 33, our planning just got that little more intricate as we attempt to deal with the FA Cup fixture fall-out. Thankfully, the situation will be afforded a little more clarity come April Fools Day.

Put's Suarez under the spotlight this does...Possible (and likely) Suarez may only play 6 games between now and seasons end...whilst his place could yield two DGW players (one for GW33 and one for (GW36) giving a total of 10 games and plenty of dosh to do it....He's gonna have to go...maybe..

Sound reasoning. I'll be selling Suarez with another yellow for sure, but i can keep him and get the needed DGWers if he avoids the ban. There is the Sturridge factor and just how much of Suarez's appeal is lost when they both play too.

Have given thought to him too. Didn't want to do it yet, as his form is putting me off. But for GW 33, it will probably be a decision to get either him or Cazorla, no room for both.

Yeah I wish I had not got excited and done Harte > Monreal the other night.

Fed to Fab looks a decent move, if Begovic is going to be the back up.

I went to do before and got the warning "too many Arsenal" if I bring in Cazorla aswell as having Walcott and Monreal.

      Stupidity on my part!

So the wildcard team for gameweek 32 or 33 begins to form:

    Fabianski,
    Baines, UNITED/CHELSEA, Kompany
    Cazorla, Fellaini, UNITED/CHELSEA, Lampard/Walcott
    Giroud, Berbatov, Tevez/RVP

    Bench: Vorm, Michu, Boyce, Dawson.

What does everyone think of that one? Not sure if I can afford the Van Persie version, but looks OK otherwise.

true, but there will be benching of decent single gw'ers....who may end up with more points than dgwers.....i think in a normal dgw ie 2 teams then loading up is clearly the way forward...but on a multi dgw there has to be balance.............its going to be really hard

One question, if MUN beat CHE in the FA Cup replay, MUN vs STO game will be postponed, meaning MUN will have a single GW and STO will not feature.

However, if CHE beat MUN in the FA Cup replay, will the CHE vs TOT game be postponed? What about FUL vs CHE? CHE have a DGW if they win the replay?

      here's the breakdown

Arsenal, Everton, West Ham and Fulham have DGWs in 33 for sure.

If United win their game with stoke is canceled, they will have a SGW and Chelsea a DGW

If Chelsea win their game with Spurs is canceled, they will have a SGW and United a DGW (oh and Bale will have a DGW)

    Awesome fixtures for all 3

    TOT: sto, SUN
    CHE: avl, EVE
    CIty: rdg, NOR

Chelsea winning in the FA cup match would prove significant considering that all three teams have great fantasy assets and will have Europe places to play for to close out the season. This could backfire, however, if for example a team has a large gap in points between the team ahead and behind them so they can't move up or down.

      It depends on your situation

I have no Chelsea or Fulham players, so if United win I'll wc in 33. If Chelsea win i have 2 United already so I can get by with just transfers and use in 36, though I may wc in 32 and try to set myself up for both DGWs as best i can and use transfers to take out one set of doublers for another

Depends how many dgw players you have already and who you want to the end of season after gw33. If you wildcard early then you'll have to keep most of those players to the end (11 out of 15 without hitting).

If they were on a wildcard and they believed that Hazard and Lampard have greater goal threat. I know you don't think that they do, but it would be a perfectly logical decision to make.

Can I just make a point to everyone with a wildcard. It's just an abstract point which may not apply to you, but you should have considered it at least:

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WILDCARD IN THE WEEK YOU MOST REQUIRE THE PLAYERS.

Often you may be able to gain a sneaky advantage on your rivals by bringing in the majority of your doublegameweekers one or two weeks before the double gameweek actually happens.

So if Chelsea get dropped into double gameweek 36, along with Tottenham, Wigan, Swansea, and City, and you don't have any players from those teams, it doesn't mean that you have to wildcard in 36. It means you have to wildcard BEFORE 36. All of those teams, for example, have good fixtures in gameweek 35, so you should probably do it at least one week early.

I've seen too many posts saying "I'll be screwed in 36, so I have to wildcard then". It's incorrect; it simply means you have to wildcard by 36 at the latest.

Look down, a wc in 32 is tempting. I posted a team on the other page that looks pretty good as far a DGWs go. I'd just need to ship an Arsenal mid to Maloney and that frees up finds to do pretty much what I want (i.e get in Aguero, Silva and a 2nd Chelsa mid.

LR's WC approach has some degree of safety and reasoning. Wildcarding in GW32 and a saved FT in GW33 will provide you enough transfers in preparation for GW36.

I really like this as an idea (in fact I think I may have been the one who mentioned it to him 😉 )

Also gives you the security of knowing that even if one player gets injured/suspended/dropped in 32, you can use the free transfer on him, and be in a similar position to if you had played the wildcard in 33.

I might follow the Jonah plan and wc in 32 anyway. Try and get in as many GW33 doubles as possible and get 3 guys with blanks to bench in anticipation of future DGWs, then use transfers to swap out GW33 doubles to other doublers.

I should stress I haven't completely decided to do this, but it looks good to me.

Michu looks to be a good player to carry through on the bench. Also Maloney.

Good defensive players to carry over would include people like Dawson (if Tottenham have a double), Boyce, Rangel.

One great part of this plan potentially is that you'll be bringing the most popular players in early so when you sell them after gw33 you might have more money to pick the replacements you really want. Eg to bridge the gap from Walcott to hazard for example...
