The Premier League have this afternoon rearranged Fulham’s home game with Chelsea, which was initially set to take place on Sunday March 10, to Wednesday April 17 – or Gameweek 33 to you and I. At present, this gives both clubs a pair of fixtures that week, with Fulham travelling to Villa and Chelsea entertaining Tottenham at the Bridge beforehand.

This news comes with a caveat, though. If Chelsea beat United in their FA Cup Sixth Round replay on Monday April 1, their Gameweek 33 clash with Spurs will be postponed due to Semi-Final commitments and will require a new date – this would leave the Blues with just one fixture in Gameweek 33, while Spurs would face a blank. The Spurs match would need to be moved to a new Gameweek as this was initially scheduled for the weekend. Bottom line is Fulham now have a double Gameweek 33 regardless, though.

As the fixtures fall into place, the Cottagers are currently one of four clubs that will definitely face a pair of matches in Gameweeks 33, with Arsenal, Everton and West Ham also playing twice. The loser of the Chelsea – United replay will also face a double, though if United win at Stamford Bridge their trip to Stoke – scheduled for Gameweek 33 weekend – will be cancelled, leaving the Potters without a fixture that week, as United travel to West Ham in midweek.

In other words:

If Chelsea win the replay, United have a DGW33 and Spurs have a blank GW33.
If United win the replay, Chelsea have a DGW33 and Stoke have a blank GW33.

With both Swansea and West Brom both facing blanks in Gameweek 33, our planning just got that little more intricate as we attempt to deal with the FA Cup fixture fall-out. Thankfully, the situation will be afforded a little more clarity come April Fools Day.

Sick of dealing with hypothetical fixtures morphing in and out of existence. Seems to be more a test of who can second guess the bloody Football Association than getting down to players.

If you mean you think the DGWs are a huge leveller in terms of careful planning and picking the best players, I tend to agree.

All of the scouting gets reduced to who has a DGW and who has a blank.

            Don't think so man.

Sure, the second gameweek is up in the air, but I don't think that affect our planning right now as we have to prioritise GW33 targets.

Yeah that's what I mean, this double gameweek isn't the last of them and we have no confirmation on those. We'll try to plan for GW33 while knowing our transfers will be affecting future points in unforeseeable ways.

                I suppose.

For me there are only a few target that I'd consider 'essential' (if there is such a thing) and I'm hoping the Chelsea one is sooner rather than later as a) I have no Chelsea players, b) have no plans to get any and (c) it would be good if Chelsea's DGW came in a period where their fixtures were left congested.

My short-list (in no particular order):
                RVP/Rooney
                Arsenal defender
                United defender
                Fellaini
                2 of Santi/Walcott/Giroud

That's not that hard to attain for most people. The consensus is that there will be 3 weeks until the next one so swapping an Arsenal attacker, Fellaini and maybe a couple of the others will give you a decent enough team for the next DGW.

Good luck. Just played 5-a-side today. Frustrated - on the one hand I scored twice, on the other, I didn't get involved in the game as much as I liked. Teammates failed to pass so many times when the opportunity was clear.

It's annoying when that happens. We have a few ego players on our team.

In case your interested, our 11-a-side team lost our first 2 games 1-0! Both goals we conceded were down to bad individual mistakes unfortunately, including one guy dwelling on the ball on the edge of his own box for about 5 seconds before the striker robbed the ball and scored 🙄

We came up against very well-organised teams though and were unlucky not to score in both! It's definitely positive for the next games.

Nice work. I'm all about organization and teamwork. Individual goals for me are an expensive luxury to enjoy once in a while. I feel like shooting people who lose the ball near their own box due to greediness. To the reserves!

The tempo of 5-a-side is so different from 11-a-side. Look forward to playing at that level.

My next 3 planned transfers are Suarez, Michu, Bunn –> Rooney, Santi, Fabianski so my likely team for GW33 will be:

    Fabianski

    Evans, Santon, Clyne

    Walcott, Santi, Sissoko, Mata

    Lambert, Rooney, Weimann

    Mig, Bale, Clyne, Wilson

Any major problems with this? I know the defence is a bit of a mess and am not sure if Evans will start now so may get rid if Utd don't have DGW 33

Basically, Rooney & Hazard if Chelsea double. RVP & Kagawa if United double.
    10 DGWers

Carry a transfer to go to 9 for no hits in 36

Also, expect Wigan + United/Chelsea/City to blank in 37 and double in 34 or 35.

In terms of Man Utd attacking coverage at the minute I'm happy to stick with Rooney over RVP and really don't think I'll be getting RVP back in for the rest of the season. Just curious what are people who still/currently have RVP doing?

My plan atm regardless of results will be going with no Chelsea cover. Crap fixtures and condensed schedule.. only one MAYBE for a hit would be Hazard (if DGW), but still unsure, as I would have to lose Bale..

    Arsenal: Walcott, Santi
    Everton: Baines, Fellaini
    United: RVP
    Fulham: Berba

Team for DGW33 would look like this:

    Bego
    BAINES, DEMEL, Martin
    WALLY, SANTI, FELLAINI, Bale/Schneiderlin(HAZARD)
    RVP, BERBA, Suarez

Giving me 7 DGWers regardless of the Che-Utd outcome.

    de Gea Federici
    Cameron Demel Turner Davies Mariappa
    Michu Mata Walcott Sissoko Bale
    Benteke RVP Lambert

With my WC still intact, surely I should wildcard in DGW33?

Other option is to get in as many DGWers as I can (since I already have DDG, Demel, Mata/RVP and Walcott, plus I would bring in the likes of Fellaini, Riether and Cazorla for free), and then WC when City, Spurs, Swansea, Wigan & United/Chelsea have a DGW later on.

Your thoughts would be truly appreciated! 😀

He had a dry spell when Ruiz was out but Ruiz's return really helps things. His class means he does more with his chances - Fulham seem to have become a lot sharper too, their counterattacks down the wings against Spurs were dangerous.

Villa's defence is ropey and Chelsea have been conceding quite a few too.
