As expected, Gareth Bale has been ruled out of Tottenham’s home clash with Everton on Sunday. Aaron Lennon and William Gallas are also absent for the north London outfit, though all three are expected to return to training “within two weeks” according to the club’s official website. Bale’s weekend absence, allied with a blank next time out, is set to spice up the next couple of Gameweeks as his owners go shopping for midfield replacements – with the double Gameweek 33 just around the corner, plenty of squad restructuring can be anticipated.

David Moyes admits Kevin Mirallas is doubtful for Everton’s trip to Tottenham. The Belgian notched the Toffees winner against Stoke last time out but according to his manager:

“He’s been suffering from a groin strain and he is going to be touch and go. We are hoping that he will make it but it is by no means definite. Unfortunately we don’t have Marouane Fellaini and Steven Pienaar and that would be a blow to anybody’s team. We found a way of getting a result against Stoke City and it’s a bit the same against Tottenham – we’re going to have to find a way to get a result without two really key players.”

Raheem Sterling is a doubt for Liverpool’s home game with West Ham. Brendan Rodgers revealed in this afternoon’s press conference:

“He’s had an ongoing issue with his thigh, so we’re just assessing that and whether he needs to come out for a few weeks to protect that. Apart from that, everyone is fine”.

Sam Allardyce – who is without Andy Carroll due to the conditions of his loan deal – rolled out the following injury update:

“The bad news is obviously George McCartney coming off last weekend, which is something we were really sick about. The good news is that while the injury is quite serious, it doesn’t need an operation, which we’re glad to hear. The specialist thinks that when we rehab him this time he’ll be ok, so there’s an outside chance that he gets fit for a couple of games at the back end of this season. Mark Noble is still recovering from his trapped nerve problem in his shoulder. So he won’t be quite ready and Joe Cole’s still got his hamstring injury.”

Micah Richards and Maicon remain on the sidelines for City ahead of Monday’s Manchester derby. Both returned to action for the Under 21 side in midweek but Roberto Mancini has admitted they are two weeks away from a first-team comeback; good news for Pablo Zabaleta’s owners in the short-term, at least.

Martin Jol has ruled out both Ashkan Dejagah and Mladen Petric ahead of Fulham’s trip to Newcastle on Sunday afternoon. Dejagah has started the last four on the right flank and his absence could, potentially, have a knock-on effect on Dimitar Berbatov – Jol had previously utilised Bryan Ruiz on the flank, with Berbatov dropping into “the hole”. The Cottagers do have alternatives, though, with Damien Duff perhaps favourite to switch flanks, with the likes of Urby Emanuelson or Kieran Richardson offering options on the left.

Finally, we end with an update for Fantasy managers who believe in the “Bib Theory”. In these pictures published on the Arsenal website earlier this afternoon, Kieran Gibbs and Lukas Podolski played on the same side as Andrei Arshavin – an ominous sign if there ever was and perhaps encouraging news for owners of Nacho Monreal. Tomas Rosicky was selected alongside Mikel Arteta; a suggestion that the Czech international could retain his first-team place after starting against Reading last weekend.

As always, this has all been collected for you in our team news section, where you’ll find our current predicted lineups for the weekend matches.

Keep an eye on our Twitter stream as always, for any late breaking news.

Coutinho a viable alternative to Gerrard?

ML leader has the latter and I trail him by 15pts. Is Coutinho worth the risk, given he's not 100% nailed on?

I was going to, but as holding onto Walcott too, feel like may aswell get rid of Bale.

I have struggled to decide who though, so going for a massive punt instead. Ashley Young......

Hazard, Gerrard, Silva are a lot more sensible options though.

Issue isn't it. Im in the same boat. I sold him but I regret it now. Was planning on keeping him the whole season despite the blank GW33. If he's back for the MANC game I's only the Everton game missed.
plus most would have pitched him, due to the press coverage. I'd keep him

If I sell him I wil get 10.3 back. Anticipating a min 3pt drop which would open up a possible 0.3 loss to buy him back....but, at this stage of the season its points that win prizes! Is it worthy of a hit though?

Got a lot of help from reading the posts here today. Thanks to all concerned.

Last issue is whether to bench Sissoko or Michu.

Sissoko probably just arriving back now.

Michu in a team playing for nothing and fairly tricky game.

Heart says Michu because I believe in the upside.

Does anyone play the fantasy game at fantasyleague.com? Somewhat inspired by the tv show "The League", I have been looking for a fantasy game with more interactive features such as a preseason auction, player swapping etc. Think this might be what I have been looking for! However, it is quite expensive, so I would appreciate I someone could share their experiences with this game! Thanks.

I'm still no nearer than yesterday in deciding whether to sell Bale or just bench both Bale and Walcott and play 4-3-3 with Cazorla Muchu Sissoko

All Chelsea mids are bench risks, don't have a DGW33 and are away to Liverpool GW34.
All Liverpool mids are decent for next 2, but I'd want Fellaini/Pienaar in, with Sisoko Walcott Cazorla.

The only way I see it is that bringing in someone for Bale could quite likely be a 1 GW move and would therefore be best if they were (c) material... but I'm not sure you can get a better (c) pick than Suarez.

I'd go with saving the FT and benching them both, but only if you have 4 good defenders and 3 good forwards. If any of them are shite and you bought them for bench fodder, you can sell Bale.
You can get him back after maybe the City game. He would have fallen in price by then too.

Anyone seen that Barcelona have made a complaint about Stark the ref in the PSG game? I watched the game and thought that was first champions league game where Barcelona didn't get all the decisions. I also thought their players should have got fined with how the acted towards the referee by trying to intimidate him. Dani Alves avoided a second yellow in my eyes when he finished even though he was offside, similar to RVP's red for Arsenal.

Barcelona are always scoring offside goals! They are complaining that the ref continued the game when two of their players were down with head injuries but 2 seconds passed between the clash of heads and ibra's shot!

No, because of all the dead teams. Don't see him falling more than 0.3 if he misses 2 games

    2 options:

    A) bench bale and hope mata plays

    Santi Mata Michu schneiderlin

    B) Bale > Hazard

(May mean no Walcott without a -8 next week if fit)

Selling Bale is like peeing on the floor when your bladder is about to burst. You feel relieved when you do it, but you regret it later.
