As expected, Gareth Bale has been ruled out of Tottenham’s home clash with Everton on Sunday. Aaron Lennon and William Gallas are also absent for the north London outfit, though all three are expected to return to training “within two weeks” according to the club’s official website. Bale’s weekend absence, allied with a blank next time out, is set to spice up the next couple of Gameweeks as his owners go shopping for midfield replacements – with the double Gameweek 33 just around the corner, plenty of squad restructuring can be anticipated.

David Moyes admits Kevin Mirallas is doubtful for Everton’s trip to Tottenham. The Belgian notched the Toffees winner against Stoke last time out but according to his manager:

“He’s been suffering from a groin strain and he is going to be touch and go. We are hoping that he will make it but it is by no means definite. Unfortunately we don’t have Marouane Fellaini and Steven Pienaar and that would be a blow to anybody’s team. We found a way of getting a result against Stoke City and it’s a bit the same against Tottenham – we’re going to have to find a way to get a result without two really key players.”

Raheem Sterling is a doubt for Liverpool’s home game with West Ham. Brendan Rodgers revealed in this afternoon’s press conference:

“He’s had an ongoing issue with his thigh, so we’re just assessing that and whether he needs to come out for a few weeks to protect that. Apart from that, everyone is fine”.

Sam Allardyce – who is without Andy Carroll due to the conditions of his loan deal – rolled out the following injury update:

“The bad news is obviously George McCartney coming off last weekend, which is something we were really sick about. The good news is that while the injury is quite serious, it doesn’t need an operation, which we’re glad to hear. The specialist thinks that when we rehab him this time he’ll be ok, so there’s an outside chance that he gets fit for a couple of games at the back end of this season. Mark Noble is still recovering from his trapped nerve problem in his shoulder. So he won’t be quite ready and Joe Cole’s still got his hamstring injury.”

Micah Richards and Maicon remain on the sidelines for City ahead of Monday’s Manchester derby. Both returned to action for the Under 21 side in midweek but Roberto Mancini has admitted they are two weeks away from a first-team comeback; good news for Pablo Zabaleta’s owners in the short-term, at least.

Martin Jol has ruled out both Ashkan Dejagah and Mladen Petric ahead of Fulham’s trip to Newcastle on Sunday afternoon. Dejagah has started the last four on the right flank and his absence could, potentially, have a knock-on effect on Dimitar Berbatov – Jol had previously utilised Bryan Ruiz on the flank, with Berbatov dropping into “the hole”. The Cottagers do have alternatives, though, with Damien Duff perhaps favourite to switch flanks, with the likes of Urby Emanuelson or Kieran Richardson offering options on the left.

Finally, we end with an update for Fantasy managers who believe in the “Bib Theory”. In these pictures published on the Arsenal website earlier this afternoon, Kieran Gibbs and Lukas Podolski played on the same side as Andrei Arshavin – an ominous sign if there ever was and perhaps encouraging news for owners of Nacho Monreal. Tomas Rosicky was selected alongside Mikel Arteta; a suggestion that the Czech international could retain his first-team place after starting against Reading last weekend.

As always, this has all been collected for you in our team news section, where you’ll find our current predicted lineups for the weekend matches.

Keep an eye on our Twitter stream as always, for any late breaking news.

Hi, I need some advice. Is it better to:

    A) save a transfer this week and have 2 ft next week to get 2 DGWers

    or

    B) Get hazard in this week then swap him to Fellaini week after

    Thanks

Which Everton defenders except Baines do you reckon as safe bets for gametime for the remains of the season?

The main issue is that a majority of the fans don't know the chants, especially day trippers.

But pretty much every chant is on you tube, if they wanted to they could easily learn them.

Ok there are a couple of new ones, such as your username and 'Kicking a Blue' - which I look forward to singing again on Monday, but even they are on there.

    Right, two dilemmas...

    A) Play Pearce(SOT), Davies(nor) or Clichy(mun)?

    B) Start Bunn(SWA) or de Gea(MCI)?

A - Southampton always look like scoring, I doubt Reading of all teams will keep them at bay. I doubt City will keep a clean sheet, plus there's always the 10% chance of Clichy being rested. Davies is your best bet. (BTW, I'm playing him over Pearce too).

B - Bunn. Pray for a nil all. The Manchester Derby is likely to be a high scoring game.

      TL;DR - Davies + Bunn

    Got buried:

This is my current team for gameweek 33: (7 doubles)

    Jussi *

    Baines * Zabaleta (WIG) ?

Santi Cazorla * Sissoko (SUN) Lamps (ful) Fellaini *

    Berbatov * RVP* Benteke (FUL)

Benched – Bunn Townsend Fig Wilson

    1. ? = Harte or Reither

    2. is it worth selling Lamps for some1 cos Chelsea rotation could be havoc!
Maybe Ger or Yaya or Stevie G

    3. Should I do Benteke > Mirallas or Jelavic or Carroll instead?

    THANKS

      1. Riether - Its a double gameweek so its a no-brainer
      2. I'd be thinking about Silva, to be honest. But of those you mentioned - Stevie G
      3. Depending on how much money you have invested in Benteke (I'd lose about 0.4m) I'd keep him - I'm planning on the same front three.

You and I have a similar problem. I think A is the smarter long-term decision, but for those with cup ties this week we feel pressure to do B to ensure top points this week. I'm struggling over which to do. I will probably end up doing Bale to Hazard, and taking whatever hits I need to next week. Next week I might not be in the cup if I don't do it . . .

    Evening all

Think i'm going to jump on the Bale out bandwagon but wondering on who to replace him with?

    Bego (Fed)
Zaba, Martin R, Wilson (o'brien, Mariappa)
    Mata, lampard, Townsend, Michu (bale)
    RVP, Suarez, Benteke

    options:
    1. Do nothing and hope Lampard and Mata both play
    2. Bale----> Gerrard (mata---> carloza next week)
    3. Bale ----> Carloza

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Am leaning towards option 2 but that means who to bench this week unless rafa rotation solves it for me.

who are planning on bringing in for next week? if you were planning a hit next week then you might as well do it now before Bale drops. How about Gerrard?

am thinking the same although the last time i brought him in a captain he narrowly missed the penalty. Think Liverpool will hammer the hammers but you never know!

Evans-Distin ought to be an alright swap, right? Evans/Fergie seems totally unpredictable.

Why are a lot of people overlooking Gerrard as a replacement for Bale? He will play more minutes than Hazard over the course of the season (no rotation risk) and has a tasty couple of fixtures.

Tough one, I'd say SG as it's impossible to second guess Rafa. If you don't have Mata, the case for Hazard might be stronger.

This is gonna sound like an odd question given I’m on the council but

Are hits allowed in the doubles comp?

Thinking of doing Bale, Theo and Sturridge to Gerrard, Caz and Lambo

Could keep Studge, but I fancy Lambo to do well this week.
