As expected, Gareth Bale has been ruled out of Tottenham’s home clash with Everton on Sunday. Aaron Lennon and William Gallas are also absent for the north London outfit, though all three are expected to return to training “within two weeks” according to the club’s official website. Bale’s weekend absence, allied with a blank next time out, is set to spice up the next couple of Gameweeks as his owners go shopping for midfield replacements – with the double Gameweek 33 just around the corner, plenty of squad restructuring can be anticipated.

David Moyes admits Kevin Mirallas is doubtful for Everton’s trip to Tottenham. The Belgian notched the Toffees winner against Stoke last time out but according to his manager:

“He’s been suffering from a groin strain and he is going to be touch and go. We are hoping that he will make it but it is by no means definite. Unfortunately we don’t have Marouane Fellaini and Steven Pienaar and that would be a blow to anybody’s team. We found a way of getting a result against Stoke City and it’s a bit the same against Tottenham – we’re going to have to find a way to get a result without two really key players.”

Raheem Sterling is a doubt for Liverpool’s home game with West Ham. Brendan Rodgers revealed in this afternoon’s press conference:

“He’s had an ongoing issue with his thigh, so we’re just assessing that and whether he needs to come out for a few weeks to protect that. Apart from that, everyone is fine”.

Sam Allardyce – who is without Andy Carroll due to the conditions of his loan deal – rolled out the following injury update:

“The bad news is obviously George McCartney coming off last weekend, which is something we were really sick about. The good news is that while the injury is quite serious, it doesn’t need an operation, which we’re glad to hear. The specialist thinks that when we rehab him this time he’ll be ok, so there’s an outside chance that he gets fit for a couple of games at the back end of this season. Mark Noble is still recovering from his trapped nerve problem in his shoulder. So he won’t be quite ready and Joe Cole’s still got his hamstring injury.”

Micah Richards and Maicon remain on the sidelines for City ahead of Monday’s Manchester derby. Both returned to action for the Under 21 side in midweek but Roberto Mancini has admitted they are two weeks away from a first-team comeback; good news for Pablo Zabaleta’s owners in the short-term, at least.

Martin Jol has ruled out both Ashkan Dejagah and Mladen Petric ahead of Fulham’s trip to Newcastle on Sunday afternoon. Dejagah has started the last four on the right flank and his absence could, potentially, have a knock-on effect on Dimitar Berbatov – Jol had previously utilised Bryan Ruiz on the flank, with Berbatov dropping into “the hole”. The Cottagers do have alternatives, though, with Damien Duff perhaps favourite to switch flanks, with the likes of Urby Emanuelson or Kieran Richardson offering options on the left.

Finally, we end with an update for Fantasy managers who believe in the “Bib Theory”. In these pictures published on the Arsenal website earlier this afternoon, Kieran Gibbs and Lukas Podolski played on the same side as Andrei Arshavin – an ominous sign if there ever was and perhaps encouraging news for owners of Nacho Monreal. Tomas Rosicky was selected alongside Mikel Arteta; a suggestion that the Czech international could retain his first-team place after starting against Reading last weekend.

As always, this has all been collected for you in our team news section, where you’ll find our current predicted lineups for the weekend matches.

Keep an eye on our Twitter stream as always, for any late breaking news.

All these wasted transfers... Bale will be sold by more than 100k people today while losing only 0.1
Caz will be bought by 70,000 people today and will only go up 0.1.

I do. It's too far away to know for sure and the most recent quote is "outside chance," but since he's already running and there was talk he'd be fit for this weekend before today/yesterday I think he'll be fit for Norwich.

i haven't really tracked either Adkins or Reading's tendency for the old team order list, but sure looks like his first 11 is without Harte tomorrow... listed after reserve keeper, even though its a first 13, not 11 list:

Reading (from): Federici, Taylor, Mariappa, Pearce, Shorey, Kelly, McAnuff, Leigertwood, Karacan, Robson-Kanu, McCleary, Hunt, Pogrebnyak, McCarthy, Gunter, Harte, Akpan, Le Fondre, Morrison, Blackman.

How accurate is this BIB theory? What did it say about sturridge last week?

I have bale walcott and a doubtful sturridge and have no idea what to do. I want giroud after seeing what caroll did to olsen last week, but that would leave me with only 3 playing mids. I have a NO GERRARD rule, alredy have hazard and cazorla, city and united have no appealing mids at the moment 🙁

iI'd recommend reformatting that so it's a bit easier to read, i.e. goalkeepers on one line, defenders on next line, etc. Might help you get more replies.

Anyway, if you want to remove someone for now, Michu might be an option; he has a blank, and you can buy him back before GW36!

One thing I often live to regret.... ignoring a player that keeps being mentioned on here time and time again.

Today it's been Hazard but I just don't like Rafa or Mancini FPL wise. They are both a nightmare with their needless rotations.

I haven't made the Bale switch yet - but i'm edging towards bringing in Silva rather than Hazard - next weeks home game against Wigan looks particularly mouthwatering - and as someone pointed out last night - the Members midfield projections put Silva top of the pile for the remainder of the season...

    Got buried:

This is my current team for gameweek 33: (7 doubles)

    Jussi *

    Baines * Zabaleta (WIG) ?

Santi Cazorla * Sissoko (SUN) Lamps (ful) Fellaini *

    Berbatov * RVP* Benteke (FUL)

Benched – Bunn Townsend Fig Wilson

    1. ? = Monreal or Reither

    2. is it worth selling Lamps for some1 cos Chelsea rotation could be havoc!
Maybe Ger or Yaya or Stevie G or Silva

    3. Should I do Benteke > Mirallas or Jelavic or Carroll instead?

    THANKS

Oh Gareth, you and your glass ankles.

    Need help:
    A. Davis -> Sagna
    B. Puncheon -> Robson-Kanu (feel like he's been flying under the radar)
    C. Bale - > Hazard
    D. Puncheon -> Schniederlin (I like the look of Soton v. Reading on current form)

Also have Santi, Mata and Michu in midfield. Worried about Mata's potential to start. Actually, I'll just be worried in general til GW34.

P.S. This is the first season I've been in the top 1,000 among USA players :D. Yanks can party too!!

Everyone still into Chelsea midfielders for Bale replacements? Cant help but feel I would be playing with fire if I get Hazard in addition to Mata (who I own already) due to Rafatation...

    Bunn (DDG)
    Zaba, 2 of Dawson/Davies/Shaw (Demel)
    Mata, Michu, Cazorla, ? (Gardner)
    Suarez(C), RVP, Berba

1FT, NO WC left, 0M ITB.

    Bale--->

    A - Gerrard
    B - Hazard
    C - Silva

I am leaning to Gerrard at the moment. Michu and possibly Mata/Hazard/Gerrard/Silva will make way for DGW as part of a -8 hit to get 8DGWers depending on Theo fitness

Personally I think Hazard is more likely to start than Mata on Sunday, as Mata started the replay and last night, Hazard only played about 12 mins last night. Gerrard could be a good punt, not sure I'd want Silva just for this week.

yeah I agree on Silva having looked into a bit more think I was getting carried away with City's performance vs Newcastle.

But will both Hazard and Mata play against Fulham after Europa 2nd leg and FA cup semi? Do I really want all this doubt this late in season, given fact I have no WC I cant really afford risks like that can I?

if you're only getting them for 1 GW does it matter about GW33?

FWIW, I'd be nervous on both for GW33, it may depend on who plays in the SF v City

For those of us thinking of shipping Bale today, I'd just like to advise you to avoid players that are just a one week punt. Only 8 free transfers left in the season, multiple DGW's coming, every transfer will be precious. Avoid players that are rotation doubts, out of form, or for any other reason will need to leave your team.

Well, yeah. But Bale doesnt have a game for the next 2 gw`s. And i`d much prefer having the points for the one i replace Bale with, and possibly waste another transfer than play my shit 5th midfielder and sustain the value lost on Bale.

An extra transfer costs 4 points. If the transferred player can outscore the player you'd play if you didn't buy him by more than 4 points then the one week punt is worth it. In my case Hazard must outscore Puncheon/Pearce by 4 points and I fully believe he can do that.

A 1 week punt would be wasteful - but pretty much everyone will be getting him back the instant he's declared fit - so it's really unavoidable for those of us having to bench Theo this week...
