First of all, apologies for the tardiness of this particular article, with all the excitement building up to the double Gameweek, we missed the fact that it failed to post earlier, resigning it to a sleepy Friday night slot. Better late than never, here’s how the Quarter-Finals of the Members Cup played out, together with the draw for the semi-final stages.

The last eight saw some very tight affairs, with “Maddocio” edging through in his clash with “mospace” by just the odd point. Former Members Cup winner, “Fuzzy Dunlop” experienced the agony of a two point defeat to “12 inch of fury”, while there was just four points separating the sides in our other pair of ties, as community posters and the top ranked managers remaining, “Acquafresca” and “Eunuch Jelly”, both made progress.

1Maddocio32-29www.msospace.com
2Fuzzy Dunlop38-4012 inch of fury

4HeartOfTheCity28-42Eunuch Jelly

Semi-Final Draw

1MaddocioVsAcquafresca
2Eunuch JellyVs12 inch of fury

Eunuch Jelly, ranked 214 in the world, must surely be the favourite for the double Gameweek semi-final, he faces up to the Kiwi “12 inch of fury” in the last four, a player ranked some 16,000 places below him but armed with a Wildcard and 4.3 in the bank. That leaves “Acquafresca” and “Maddocio” to contest for the other coveted place in our final.

These ties will be played out over the fixtures spanning this weekend and midweek, with the final and third-place playoff taking place in Gameweek 34, before the last eight of this cup meet the last eight of our earlier cup tournament in the first Fantasy Football Scout shield.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I meant, give me 2-3 factors behind the decision... Like being on penalties, for example... but since he hasn't been in the best form and has two away games, this is intriguing

    Baines, Evans, Rafael,
    Cazorla, Fellaini, Walcott, Duff
    Rooney, Jelavic, Giroud

Mini League rivals will go for Cazorla or Van Persie in the main.. Do i do cazorla to make sure i dont miss out or do i go fellaini or walcott to gain a possible double advantge hoping cazorla doesnt strike gold?

im leaning on a similar thought..If Fellaini blanks against qpr, will seem like a foolish...hoping he does a Michu in the first half of the last Swans dgw. None of my ML seem to have bothered bringing the extra DGW players in so have 4/5 max..Caz captain would ensure that the only coverage im missing is RVP...Could forget that all for a glorious punt on Baines..

Arsenal with 2 Home games. Cazorla with sexy home form.
United with 2 Away games, both quite difficult. RVP in poor form. Rooney is decent form. But not away from home.

True but one of those is against Everton who rarely concede more than 2 in a game. He also shares points more than RVP. Having said that I'm worried about RVP's minutes whereas Caz is highly likely to play 180 mins. Such a tough call...

Locked and ready to go! The (C) was on Caz all week but making the switch to RVP. What could possibly go wrong?! Not having Walcott worries me but here's hoping Gervinho gets the start off the strength of his recent form.

    G: DDG

    D: Baines - Monreal - Azipilicueta

    M: Cazorla (vc) - Mata - Gervinho - Fellaini

    F: RVP (C) - Berbatov - Suarez

It's just necessity this week. Maloney and Michu are great picks as they have GW36 doubles, but Maloney is away to City and Michu isn't playing this week.

What I would say to OP though, is that you're a bit expensive in defence and might want to downgrade Nasty and/or Baines and switch Mirallas to Suarez. Your call.

Stick with Demel and Moloney (neither playing this GW)? Have 0.6m in bank and on WC

    DDG (Robles)
    Zabaleta O'Brien Sagna Clyne (Demel)
    Fellaini Walcott Cazorla (Moloney Michu)
    RvP Suarez Berbatov

Replace Demel with a DGW 36 player like Dawson/Chico etc..

My thoughts too - just not available at 4.6m. Maybe have to go Dawson.

Playing O'Brien already. Looking not just at this GW. Assuming the non-scheduled games go to GW 36, I will (now) have Dawson, Michu, Robles, Moloney as DGW with a few more with transfers in the next few GWs.

surely you are buying them because you think they will score highly over two games so why wouldn't you captain them?

    Ok do I do
A Cameron and Sissoko to Rafael and Maloney ( I will bench Maloney and start Coutinho) for a bit
    Or
    B Cameron to Distin-free?
So it's basically, can Rafael outscore Dustin plus 4pts?

I was going to captain Cazorla, but i'm 40 points behind my rival so thinking of going a different way.

i'm positive he will captain Cazorla, he also has RVP. I'm thinking Fellaini (C) or Rooney (C). Is this the way to go or will not captaining Cazorla riun it for me finally?

In this stage of the season 40 points behind I would take a risk captaining Fellaini.

Neither are crazy options. Maybe time to gamble and try to close the gap. Double game week could make a big difference one way or toher.

I have Santi, RVP, Fellaini and Berbs.

For some reason, after weeks of not having captained him and despite his poor form everything is telling me to captain RVP.

RVP should be my last choice out of that lot, but for some reason no one else comes into my reckoning every time I go to change my armband choice.

    RVP it is for me.

      2-0 City.

City look like they are up for it now and Wigan were gash against our 10 men last week, plus Wigan's small squad will have played a cup semi a few days earlier (so will have City but they have a bigger squad).
