United complete the job thanks to a devastating hat-trick from Robin Van Persie as Villa are dismissed in front of jubilant Old Trafford faithful. Here’s the Stock Check on Monday’s action…

On the Up

Robin Van Persie
The Dutchman chose the perfect occasion to emphatically underline his value, both to United and to his Fantasy owners, with a superbly taken hat-trick. On the day that saw Luis Suarez likely banned for the remainder of the season, Van Persie’s pursuit of the Golden Boot now looks complete having moved to 24 for the season with tonight’s goals. With so many Fantasy managers handing Van Persie the armband, tonight’s events will have opened up a chasm between the “have” and “have-nots”, impacting on many a mini-league scenario with just four Gameweeks remaining. The concern now is whether Van Persie will earn a rest or continue to find profit over the remaining matches.

Phil Jones
The former Blackburn man was, once again, outstanding. Jones has now started the last four league outings and looks firmly in favour, whether that be at centre-back, or alongside Michael Carrick in central midfield. With four games remaining and a 5.6 price tag, Jones would normally find plenty of interest, were it not for double Gameweek distractions.

Shinji Kagawa
Another player who has come into bloom in recent weeks. Tonight was Kagawa’s third consecutive start, his fourth in the last five. The Japanese international looks set to go on enjoying the tail end of the season with Fantasy managers no doubt making note of his impact with next term in mind.

Going Down

Wayne Rooney
It’s rather remiss to knock Rooney on a night of celebration but there’s little doubt that those holding the striker as an alternative to Van Persie paid the ultimate price this evening. While Rooney kept pace with the Dutchman for periods of the season and even looked a stronger option at times, the run-in has seen Van Persie put the debate to bed with five goals in three matches.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

He'll play a part in every game.

Even 30 mins from an on form RVP is potenitally better than alot of other forwards.

Probably not I suspect! I would consider dropping Gerrard (and bench Kagawa) to get some extra cash. And then drop Kagawa the next week.

    Guys please help.

    A) How long do you think it will be until Suarez drops in price.
    B) How much do you think he will drop by Friday evening.

Who should I replace him with?
Defoe? or Tevez/Aguero and risk rotation? Any others?

      A) Suarez will drop 0.1 tonight (around 3am) from 10.9 to 10.8
      B) He will only drop tonight, because he's already dropped 0.2, and 0.3 is the max per gameweek.

I would go with Defoe IMO

Using my WC next week (in DGW 36), so therefore this decision is for this week only!

    DDG (ars)
Mariappa (QPR) Turner (stk – doubtful) Distin (FUL)
Michu (che) Fellaini (FUL) Cazorla (MUN) Mata (SWA)
RVP (ars) Benteke (SUN) Lambert (WBA)

Subs: Federici (QPR) Walcott (MUN) Sagna (MUN) Demel (mci)

I’m definitely bringing in Bale this week, but I need £0.7m more in order to fund it (but I have 2 free transfers so it’s not a problem!). The question is who?!

    A) Bale and Wilson/Hooiveld for Cazorla and Sagna
    B) Bale and Guzan/Boruc for Cazorla and de Gea
    C) Bale and Yaya Toure for Cazorla and Walcott
    Or any other suggestions!

I would REALLY appreciate your wise opinions chaps! 😀
    Cheers 🙂

It's for this week only! I'm WCing next week. Don't rate Maloney against Spurs at home too much. Fellaini plays Fulham at home so I'd rather keep him.

For this week only, what would you do?

      I would probably advise B

But if you want to take a risk consider Michu to Sessegnon as Michu could struggle at the Bridge and Sunderland should be fired up especially after latest results. Then I would do Cazorla to Bale as I don't think he will shine against Utd.

      Hope this helps 🙂

so as I understand, clubs win 20m for winning the league title.

so buying 24m for RVP, they are actually making a lost (excluding the merchandise etc.) !?

I understand that, but imagine a cub which only earn money from winning bonuses,
even if they win the league, RVP is still a loss making decision! (in terms of cash)

bit ridiculous, shows you how high the price players are

I am just thinking, let's say RVP single handedly won the league for us (which is not true),
we still loss money by buying him, even though the league is won by him.
assuming the merchandise or anything has no effect when RVP joins us

which is a wrong assumption. Now add all the increase in turnover due to the fact that the title is won and you're there. Example: I buy a ticket because I want to see the champions not rvp himself. A ticket I would have otherwise not bought

good point, but I am only assuming the winning cup bonuses, not the ticket prices (as I assume OT is filling its capacity, and can't increase in sell of tickets anymore)
