In Development – HomeCrowd Comments – Phase Four Testing

We’re carrying out another test of “HomeCrowd”, the new Fantasy Football Scout comments system, tomorrow. Those who with to take part in this test can get on board by emailing us at homecrowd@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

This is likely to be our last “closed” test of HomeCrowd prior to going live, although another short open “stress test” may follow early next week if required.

Invites should go out tomorrow morning and will include details of how to get involved.

Those who have already taken part in our earlier tests will get the invite as before.

This test is focused on the latest optimisation tweaks, some new features and, in the main, the new design.

Recent changes include:

  • Brand new design including new skin and emoticons.
  • Full Private Profiles now added with the ability to change password, display name etc.
  • Display names are now limited to those not currently used in another users display name or username. Basically, no two users can show the same display name.
  • Individual comments can now be locked by moderators and admins to prevent further replies.

All being well, we will be rolling HomeCrowd live early next week. We’re currently working on the importer to ensure that the changeover will be as seamless as possible – not easy with almost five million comments to import over. We’ll let you know on progress.

            As a Glaswegian of the green half, I wanted a Burns win, but he was really lucky.
            Took a shot well and may well have gone onto a close decision, but its always annoying to not get a proper end to a fight.

      Very likely is that nobody has put any serious money on them. Lets imagine that there are huge bets on Wigan, Villa and Norwich(or whoever) Than they will raise the odds just to hedge there bets.

        I agree that they deserve to be winners. I was super thrilled when they won the cup today! probably the highlight of my day, even ahead of barca becoming la liga champs and the sounders winning 4-0!!!

        I just think it's shocking that spurs could win their last two and finish on 72pts and if arsena also win out then spurs would be in Europa along with wigan

          yeah but you forget that it's a huge competition. It's not like Wigan have an equal chance of winning it. They're likely going to be in the championship next year whereas Spurs have Bale and co and will fancy their chances of winning that type of competition. For most teams like Wigan and lesser teams around europe who make it to the EL it's a chance to play teams from Europe and it can be exciting. That's not something to stick your nose up about really, is it?

            I'm not sticking my nose up about it at all. I think it's a great opportunity for Wigan and they deserve it. I'm just saying the huge contrast between two teams in Europa next year is pretty big

      Had my team Bradford City won the League Cup, a league 2 team would have been in the same competition as Tottenham. While I understand your point, the success in any given competition must be rewarded by European qualification.

        I think you guys are misinterpreting what i'm saying. I'm just saying that it's odd the massive difference in two teams that'll be competing in Europa next year, especially if you look at the fact that one could have twice as many points as the other.

        I totally agree with you guys that Wigan deserve to be in Europa next year

          I understand your point and the logic. But you could have said the same about Man United and Man City who were in the Europa, along with Newcastle this season. While they had a shot at the CL, points factoring should mean these teams should have not played in the same competition together?
