HomeCrowd has been with us for just over a month now and, as we approach a busy pre-season period, we thought it was a good time to get your views on how you’ve found it so far.

We’ve created a short ten question, multiple choice survey that will help us gauge your feelings on the new comments system and understand how it’s being used so we can work to improve things in the coming months.

With the Fantasy games still yet to hit full swing, it would be great if you could spare us five minutes and pop on over to this link to complete the survey. Many thanks.

        Kone is 30 and he's never been much of a player. He stood out a bit in Wigan, but that was ... well, Wigan. I don't think he's nearly good enough to lead the line of one of the better PL clubs. He'll probably end up as a sub.

          29, 30 is often the peak of many footballers. His best season lies ahead providing he stays injury free.

            Every footballer has a different 'peak age', look at a player like Drogba for example. But at the same time I've never thought Kone was amazing. Certainly below the standard Everton should be going for.

    Will do. Just a couple of quick points I know which have been raised in the past, but I think deserve another airing:

    1. Can the 'seconds' be removed from the time stamp please?
    2. Colour definition for posts (white) & replies (grey) - any chance of improving/increasing these to make them clearer?

        I just think parts are better, parts are worse.. I particularly dislike the posts that are purely aimed at getting a sticky, I also think they are too freely given. That doesn't mean I think overall the posts are either better or worse. Tbh we will only really know the value of the changes when it gets a lot busier..

          I think people are contributing more when it comes to sticky comments. People on here are trying to contribute more by trying to get a comment stickied, I honestly don't see a problem with that.

              And I think it really is helping, on a personal level, I am trying to get the upvotes and get my comments stickied here. And to do that, I'd really have to contribute to the stats and everything else related with FPL. And it does motivate me to do that. This is one area that has really helped this site after the introduction of HC.

            My suggestion to order the stickied comments according to how the community rates them over the last week will surely do a lot to remove the most annoying/irrelevant posts, for those who which to search/scan in this way.

    I would really like to see a members hot topics like area, where we can really let rip with the members data. Maybe something like an option to allow a member post tick box would do it that would only post in the members area.

      It's one of those tough situations where when you start doing that you make the community disjointed.

      At the same time I would like a movement into an additional forum, at times last season the comments section was impossible with pages flying by and any interesting post lost very quickly. I do slightly fear when FPL opens and this place starts being inundated with RMT.

        Discussion rating and stickies will be even more important but it will only work if people vote. I get the impression that there isn't enough voting for the discussion rating to work let.

          I think whether the system is a success or a failure will be seen when we properly get into the season, hopefully only viewing highly rated posts will eliminate scrolling through pages of duplicate-posts.

          So far though it's a pleasant enough change.

    What are the reputation badges all about, and how are badge levels decided. I expected for example, regular and posters who have been using this site for quite a while, whose contributions are positive to start with a higher rep number. Guess I am wrong on this.

        To answer your question, no, just no idea how it works. Would imagine to newcomers a site with plenty of posters with a good rep, would feel more at ease. Quite a few on here who I expected would have more than the basic rep.

      But in time the people who do make good contributions will climb the rep ladder. Having a scale of rep For every poster before HC would have been completely down to opinion which would have been a nightmare to please everyone.

      You rise rep levels by getting enough upvotes. The issue atm is that the levels are set by full capacity expected voting. So there arent enough people on atm or voting to have any real effect on rep levels.

        Thats a fair system to an extent, depending on what people percieve as a reason to up vote. For example often long articles recieve plenty of votes, where as a post giving a first on transfer news gets nothing. The tapestry of such a site is based on collective input, and variety. I just feel the upvote system may get used for certain post styles.

          But it's down to the user. If you prefer transfer news then vote for it and if you feel a long post hasn't provided you or a new user with any value then down vote it. Think the problem at the mo is the vote isn't been used enough.

    If you're doing feedback
    a) Any chance of a page just covering the previous day's hot-topics/stickys? No option to create your own post just to be able to reply to the existing stickys.

    Just think it would be quite helpful so that not only can you find the sticky's and hot topics but there might be somebody around to discuss them with. Particularly useful for those who aren't on here quite so frequently.

    b) The main difference with homecrowd I've noticed is the tendency towards rep-earning posts - long ones and very in-depth and a toning down of the jokey aspects of the site. (Part of this may also be to do with a poster no longer being on here). I'm not sure whether I'm pro or against this just an observation.

      At the top of the comments section you have the option to sort the comments by "date" "rating" or "sticky". It is in "date" by default.

                  But let's say I'm new to this website, what can I use to determine the experience of the the poster responding to me? This isn't really reflective at the mo but in time with rep building it will be more apprarant.

                      True but you listen more to people you value there comments by. You already know this by being on this site for a while but a new user doesn't have this luxury. Remember the rating the new user sees would have been determined by the rest of the community so as a new user I could take some comfort in that in that until can make my own opinion are posters.

    I can't quite put my finger on it, the content and FPL discussion has drastically improved since the introduction of HC, but there's not as much humor and foolery of old...an aspect which I enjoyed the most. I really can't remember the last time I lol'ed on here, something which I did on a daily basis prior to HC. Just my 2 slightly confused cents.
