Sky Sports Analysis – Goalkeeper Bonus Save Points

As mentioned in a previous article, there’s been a handful of new rules introduced to the Sky Sports Fantasy game this season. One of the most welcome additions is the move to reward goalkeepers with bonus points – stoppers will now receive two extra points if they make five or more saves in a match, thus boosting their appeal and forcing us to reassess their worth in the season ahead.

The Sky Sports table for Goalkeepers in the Members Area now includes the bonus points from saves that would have been accrued for the past two seasons. In this evening’s article for Members, we’ve analysed these numbers in full, assessing the impact the new bonus system is likely to have on our Sky Sports selections.

              He is a hell of a finisher, Redknapp has stated he will score 15 to 20 goals in the PL.

            From the initial transfer saga really - he appeared all set to join us last season then had his head turned at the last moment by your bigger money offer. Understandable maybe but enough to place question marks in my mind. Perhaps 'attitude' is not quite right but I've seen enough players on our books who've had the wrong motivations and it invariably ends badly.

            Hopefully I'm being overly cautious.

    Have decided to get RVP in my team.

    Before I looked at my team and thought it was a great team but lacked a forward who I can rely on..

    Then I looked at RVP's stats over the previous 7 years...

    In about 157 games (added up all the mins and divided by 90) he got 112 goals and 62 assists.

    So 174 goals/assists in 157 games, seems pretty consistent to me.

    Now I have to figure out how the hell to get a good team with him in it!

    A lot of people are debating whether to have Michu in their teams from the outset because of Swansea's "tough opening fixtures".

    After looking at the results from last season, I see he scored against 4 of their first 6 opponents

    He scored against Man Utd, Spurs, West Brom and Arsenal.

    He didn't score against Liverpool and obviously didn't play against Palace.

    Michu = Fixture proof

    Would anyone consider Olsson over Turner if he continues to start over Garrido? The fact he could get a few games OOP is tempting, but I don't know whether it will lead to him being used as a utility player rather than him nailing down a spot in the team

    Is it true that most seasons teams do not keep as many clean sheets as they do after Christmas?

    If so, is it worth spending extra cash upfront and in midfield rather than buying top defenders?

    Can get a decent rotating defence for 22.0 - Coleman Collins/Clyne Chester/Ward.
    Plus Mignolet and a 4 for 9.5.

    This gives you 68.5 to spend on the front 8.

    Absolutely no one is punting on Altidore from Sunderland. A lot of people backing Sunderland to have a good season but still no love for him. I know he is awkwardly priced at 7m with only a 1 mil needed stretch to Bony might be a wiser move. Can anyone give me there thoughts on projected goals this season for the American?

    Mignolet (seems the obvious choice)

    DF;
    Collins (good fixtures)
    Dawson (not sure if he is nailed on?)
    Hudson (cheaper than caulker, had a good season last year)

    MF;
    Hazard (probably will see a lot of game time and reasonably priced)
    Nolan (good fixtures, don't overly rate him but seems to get goals consistently but thinking of swapping for caybe or ben arfa)
    Pienarr (.5 less than millaris but is he always gonna start?)
    Mata (for dgw, will transfer to carzola, courthino or city player when I have a better idea of who is going to play)

    RVP (a lot of money but most nailed on and consistent striker)
    Dzeko (unsure of his playing time but cheap if he does play and looks sharp preseason, maybe a swap for lukaku but I don't wanna have too many dgw to transfer out and not sure if hell start)

    I have just been looking at Swansea's fixtures again and wow they really are horrible for the first 7 weeks. I am all for Michu having the ability to score against any team and really like the upside on Bony over the season but he is featuring in more and more RMT's.
