The Sun Dream Team is now open for registration and Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce an official league, with The Sun offering a huge £1,000 prize to our winner.

Having had a few weeks to tinker with your starting XI, the serious business starts here. You can register your saved team, put together further lineups and create and enter leagues for the new season.

Select a free team and you can compete for £80,000 in prize money, but if you back yourself by opting for a Premium Package (two teams for £10 or six teams for £25), you’ll have more chances to win and be in the mix to win the full £500,000, whilst also earning the right to compete for the monthly game prizes, which make up £80,000 of the overall prize pot.

Joining and Creating Leagues

You can join or create up to ten leagues with any of your teams and set up your own leagues as you wish. The Sun Dream Team game offers real incentive to get involved – there’s a new Chairman’s prize pool of £10,000 available for those who manage to recruit ten or more managers to their league.

If you’re looking to join an ready-made league, you can challenge the likes of Ian Wright and Terry Venables with Dream Team allowing you to take on an array of celebrity managers.

The Scout League

You should also enroll in the official Fantasy Football Scout League, with Dream Team very kindly offering a £1,000 prize pot to the winner.

Once you register and create your team or teams, simply use the following PIN and password to enter.

League Name: Fantasy Football Scout
Password: ReWOZhn1T1
PIN: 8061654

You’ll find these details on the middle column of the homepage from this point on.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

      SIlva will frustrate you. He'll:

      A) get injured in the warm up
      B) play fantastically but not be involved in any goals or assists and get 2pts despite being the clear MOM.
      C) get rested to accomodate the ever expanding Man City midfield.

      Get Coutinho in.

Same here. I kept him for about 8 weeks and it was so frustrating to watch. Every assist he did make would involve beating about 4 players, and then gifting someone a goal. In comparison you could get the same number of points for a Hazard assist, which often involved a 5 yard pass to Luiz (35 yards out) who would then smash the ball into the top corner. Absolute injustice.

He still has to be one of the top 3 players from the 28 who take the field. Across a season I predict he'll have a more rounded chance of BPS, but week to week I would be surprised if it makes much difference.

    REPOST: SOLDADO OR NOT?

    some thoughts:

1.spurs have not been bright in the pre season
    2. spurs will be weakened when/if bale leaves
    3. soldado has not trained yet so he lacks fitness and match fitness and will probably take him some time to get both
    4. soldado's attacking providers, chadli and lennon, the former is completely unknown and unproven while the latter is below par and injury prone

dont all of the above make sense NOT to get soldado until we see spurs later on in the season how they perform?

    comments please?

    thanks

I replied to your post on the last page, but I'll try a different tactic.

      1. True, but I rarely feel pre-season is a good indicator of the season ahead. Did you see their center back pairing against a (very strong) Monaco attack?

      2. Undoubtedly, but I would imagine this would be in some way mitigated by the money they would receive. I am not a Spurs fan but I heard from a poster on here that they are in for the likes of Lamela and Ljajic - two very good players.

      3. This is an issue, but as far as I am aware, he had continued to attend training at Valencia.

      4. Spurs have more 'providers' than these two players. In either a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1, they have a significant amount of technically gifted players who are more than capable of threading a pass or through ball. This extends even to their Center Backs if you consider Vertonghen may play there.

I won't be bringing him in though. I think his style of play will require him to gel with his team mates so he can read and anticipate the passes. Likewise, the space afforded to players in the Premier League is rather different to what he will be used to in La Ligua, so that may also take a while. However, if he has a confidence boosting performance in what appears to be an easy opener, then that may provide a decent springboard for future returns.

Really tempted to get Cahill now, his defensive stats are surprisingly good, and Mourinho has previously said he looks at stats. With an England match in London, the same City as both of Chelsea's fixtures, he must surely be odds on to play both games. His attacking threat is juicy as well.

That 0.5m could be very useful as well...

    One final thought:

IMO you should try to get explosive players early on as they are more likely to rise in value as casuals knee-jerk on big returns. So when presented with a choice, Silva or Michu for example, go the explosive player. Silva is unlikely to get a haul, just steady assists, Michu can explode against anyone.

    Giggs out.

Baines excelled because Moyes set it up that way. Baines always overlapped midfielders because the midfielders dragged the opposing defenders inside.

I don't know how Martinez will play with Baines, but it wouldn't surprise me if we see Evra up front more and this could potentially bring a lot of attacking returns although I must admit that Evra's crossing is not as good as Baines.

Will Baines still take set pieces?

I have a cunning plan, milords.

Get a differential by picking Wilshere from the start, and keeping him until Diaby gets back from injury, and then swap him out for a profit and swap Diaby in for another differential.

Any other differentials worth a punt?

Im beginning to think Aluko could be a fair source of points. With all the big hitters in mid field it might be worth having a 5.0 striker this year and not a 5.0 mid as there is no Moses/Dyer/Sterling

    SOLDADO

    some thoughts:

1.spurs have not been bright in the pre season
    2. spurs will be weakened when/if bale leaves
    3. soldado has not trained yet so he lacks fitness and match fitness and will probably take him some time to get both
    4. soldado's attacking providers, chadli and lennon, the former is completely unknown and unproven while the latter is below par and injury prone

dont all of the above make sense NOT to get soldado until we see spurs later on in the season how they perform?

    comments please?

    thanks

Soldado has an undeniably good goal ratio, he is strong, relatively quick, possesses decent acceleration and times his runs very very well. He is very good at finding space.

However, he is not outstanding in the air (although capable).

Are you considering Chadli and Lennon to be wingers, therefore supplying crosses? If so (and considering Chadli is versatile and can play behind the striker anyway) then its worth bearing in mind that Soldado is used to receiving the ball along the ground. Spurs possess plenty of talent in the middle of the park, all of whom are capable of playing excellent passes and through balls. Soldado has arrived at a team where there should be no shortage of supply, from the wings or otherwise - just take a look at Vertonghen.

What is crucial however is how quickly he gets used to his new team mates. That will make all the difference. Undoubtedly an 'easy' opening fixture is the perfect way for a new striker to gain that all-important confidence in front of goal.

I must state that I will not bring him in, easy fixture or otherwise, and will wait for him to settle. He is still an unproven striker whose style I feel requires him to gel with team mates rather than make an instant impact, and at 9.5 million, there are better options at that price

Watching the Utd game. Decent game actually as AIK are 10 games into their season so are very fit and in the groove.

Few fantasy related observations (bearing in mind it's only half time in a friendly)

Any ideas I had of getting Zaha have disappeared tonight. He's incredibly wasteful (fits in well with our current set of wingers). Great potential for the future though.

Nani was the best player on the pitch and certainly perked my attention FPL wise. Until he limped off.

RVP not clicking with MF so far and a little isolated when he has got the ball (still should have scored though)

United DF is looking shaky. Doesn't bode well for the tricky opening fixtures.

Hope Kagawa emerges for 2nd half.

Sorry for the length of the post for what is a meaningless friendly 😕

Becomes somewhat interesting if West Ham don't buy another right sided forward, but they're clearly going to get one, so i don't think this Morrison wagon has any legs. Nolan won't be dropped. Reckon he'll be used mainly as a sub, so would prefer to pay the extra .5 for Brady/Kim

People probably getting excited because he's getting alot of minutes in pre season. But so is Lingard for United. Happy to be proved wrong, but can't see him being useful 5th mid.

You're right. He's a terrible passer/dribbler/marker. He's an awesome poacher in my opinion-one of the best. His positioning makes up for his lack of footballing skills.

If you ManU fans want to give him a pass for playing nowhere near his price tag, then that's fine. I'm not surprised, because you lot gave Berba such a hard time for being the great player he always was.

It's genuinely like talking to @usasoccerguy. "ManU fans" "a pass" he was injured for a lot of last season. His favoured position is in the hole behind the striker- that's where Rooney plays. With Rooney likely to be on the way out, it looks like he'll have a big season. Why in God's name are you on about Berbatov.. We have RvP. Berbatov is good for Fulham

You're not going to get me to lie and say Kagawa is a good player. I didn't see him a Dortmund , and he was an average player when he was health last season. Only 'highlights 'I remember him doing was a late hat-trick and somehow missing an empty goal from 5 yards out,

It's preseason now, he' must be hurt, because he's still playing like shite. I hope he improves this year.

He's absolutely class. He struggled big time with injury and Rooney was playing in the hole- Kagawa's favoured postion. He's going to have a big one this season if he gets game time

I hope so! If he can play like he did at Dortmund, 8.0 will be a bargain. Just a bit concerned about his lack of minutes during pre-season. He's my only United cover.

He looked so uncomfortable any time he was deployed on the left wing last season, and that's where he played for most games he started. It's clear that he should be played in the hole and it's looking likely that he'll get the opportunity

I'll edit myself. He hasn't been fantasy good this past season.

He scored 34 points. I know he didn't play a lot, but at 7.5 you have Nani, Young, Mirallas this season.

Plus, Man U currently have nearly 10 midfielders to choose from this year.

Is Cech and Boruc too much to invest in keepers? Bar Cole, Cech is probably the only nailed on Chelsea defensive cover for the double and you can just play Boruc for the blank rather than wasting a precious early transfer on a defender. What do people think?

Reply fail from earlier: Not a bad idea at all, especially for the DGW. I'd say it's a very good example of a three gameweek strategy, and you can always ship him out after then.

Cech is nailed on and it removes any doubts you may have over a defender playing both games but I still prefer Ivanovic or Luiz. I think both will play twice and I don't like having a GK that needs transferred out which is likely the case with Cech.

it's not too much as i assume cech is only a temporary purchase.

people are championing cole, ivanovic and luiz for the same price. it's no difference whatever people claim. it's 1 transfer to get rid of either of the 4 post dgw

Cech is a bad option for the DGW.

He has a low/no chance of a blow out score - so you're paying 6.5m for max 14 points, possibly as low as 6 and probably around 8. Meanwhile Ivanovic and Cole have assists and goals in their locker plus the same CS potential.

Outfield players can score massive points in the DGW - GKs not so much
