No thrills. Few spills. Just two men in a room talking about Fantasy Football.

Granville and I handed Jonty and the “Professor” an extended pre-season and rolled the ScoutCast back to its rawest form. Just myself and the Mancunian sharing our thoughts after a summer break and looking forward to another Fantasy campaign.

We talk double Gameweek assets, I roll out the van Persie duvet, Granville reveals more than he should about his team lineup and, around all that, we assess the early bandwagons and preview the weekend fixtures.

Forty-five minutes of two blokes talking about the stuff that’s rattling around in most of our heads right now.

It’s good to be back.

Eavesdrop on the conversation via this link or earwig via the handy player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Care to rate this bunch?

    Mignolet (Harper)
    Luiz, Toure, Collins (Chester, Ward)
    Hazard, Walcott, Mirallas, Silva (Ravel)
    Soldado, Benteke, Lukaku

    GW1: Benteke > Sturridge

Another two votes for Lambert then...
Its about 50/50 at the moment as regards replies in here
My gut tells me Lambert will do well and start every game but it also tells me that Dzeko will murder cardiff and HULL even from the bench but may only get 350 odd mins from the 540 over the 6 games.....

Then I look at it over the forst 4 games instead of 6 and it seems to favour Dzeko but with the threat of Negredo sill hanging in there....Lambert doesnt have this type of threat over him...

I'll just flip a coin, cheers for all replies tho! 🙂

Can we all agree that Wenger has been totally incompetant this year with signings? He publicly declares his interest in a player who has repeatedly been racists or bitten players and can't get him for 40 million pounds? He couldn't get Higuain or Capoue when even their prospective coaches thought Arsenal would get him. They couldn't get a chapionship-winning player (Gustavo) they actually needed from a team that apparently doesn't want him and he publicly states he wants to play for us, for about the same amount we paid for Cazorla. But you know what stings the most? He was quoted from SkySports saying

"We are active. We are in a situation like Manchester United, like Chelsea, where everybody expects signings and at the moment not a lot has happened."

No, Arsenal are not in such a position. Those clubs actually got people. In fact only five clubs have signed less than three players and most have signed over five. Moreover, Arsenal have more in common with a recently relegated team by having a net-loss of transfers. They have allowed 10 senior players to leave this year, most of them on free transfers.

Wenger is a brilliant man-manager and has cultivated natural talent to make up for, what are in my opinion, tactical deficiencies. But this summer has been an embarrassment. For those who read it, thanks.

Another Wenger quote from this summer "We have some fantastic signings on the way" Yeah, still waiting for them.

Don't really get this. Wenger bid for Suarez as a player not as a man. Would you expect to get Messi for less than 40m because he'd had a bit of bad PR recently? Suarez is worth more than 40m. That's why he didn't get him for 40m.

Fine, as a player. Why then would any manager want a player who has missed 25 games in the past three seasons and still will miss the next six games of the upcoming season. Moreover, he is not worth more than 40 million. The 40million +1 pound was not a stunt, it activated a clause in his contract. So no, he simply is a bad signing.

I don't think fine does him justice. He's world class if ever I saw it. Think Wenger is bidding at well below his true value in the modern market and that's where the problem lies.

I recall Liverpool declaring he is valued at 55 million, but that I could be wrong on. I ultimately think valuing a player for his on field actions is a very subjective and inherently difficult thing.

But that valuation becomes much easier when he is missing about an seventh of the season right from the get-go.

He's afraid to spend money and risk a flop like Veron or Carroll if you ask me.
Its easy year to get the good vote from those who judge by saying I am backing youth but what good is that when those players - Clichy, Nasri, RVP, Fabregas, Toure, Song, Adebayor, Hleb and even right back to Anelka all jump ship the first chance they get. These were all players that he bought young or picked from obscurity and theyre gone elsewhere and have won medals...

Worse still is that Arsenal have allowed many of them to enter the final year of their contracts leaving the club with F all power and refusing to pay the wages to keep them.

So I would agree and call it a shambles, even an utter joke. Spend the damn money Arsene and get the quality needed to challenge or else retire...

Forget getting the quality, if only for squad depth at this rate. Remember the injury crisis two years ago? That was before we let 10 senior players go this season.

Please can someone explain why Davis (Southampton GK) has 17% ownership... What am I missing in the 4M goalkeeper land? I have Harper for reasons of rotation (were Mignolet unable to play in a week where Harper did).

Some think Boruc might blow up and Davis get some playing time. Harper - not as likely and may lose value as casuals drop him.

Highest points scorer appeals to casuals (and some on here judging by Rmts) He won't be nailed and his value will likely fall after a few weeks

Don't think too much into it. You get people that will just pick these type of players as bench fodder with no intention of ever playing them because of their price to invest more in their starting 11

How nailed-on is James Collins for West Ham? Any chance of Tomkins taking his place?

Looking like he's out GW1. So Tomkins might step in. But Collins should be a good bet for most of season.

so if you don't make signings it means your team is crap, Spurs have made a load of signings because of Bale practically leaving. Same with Pool

What do you say about Man city then? They made good signings too.. was it required?
To me there's lot of dependency on RVP currently and the team doesn't have strength or creativity to compete against Chelsea, City , Arsenal and Spurs. With Rooney being unhappy in the team, United should have had at least 2 or 3 signings by now. Anyways we will come to soon when United start losing the games

I can't see Arsenal staying above Spurs with the squad they have. Not because I doubt there talent but they need reinforcements. Lost 10 senior players, some were fairly regular and they needed depth even when they had them.

And I have always said Tottenham's real problem has always been in lacking a good, consistent striker, they have that now in Soldado.

I'd like to spark a debate...goalkeepers: Is Migs + 4.0 the way to go? Or Migs + 4.5? Or even the Foster/Boruc rotation? I currently have Migs + Boruc with Ravel Morrison my cheap mid. Is Kim a better choice there or is it worth saving 0.5 on Morrison?

i traditionally go with 2 cheap playing GKs.
but this year starting with cech, plan on selling for hart week 2 ( as i've no city cover and think they'll rotate at back). 4mil non playing gk in reserve who shouldn't lose price for a while.
