No thrills. Few spills. Just two men in a room talking about Fantasy Football.

Granville and I handed Jonty and the “Professor” an extended pre-season and rolled the ScoutCast back to its rawest form. Just myself and the Mancunian sharing our thoughts after a summer break and looking forward to another Fantasy campaign.

We talk double Gameweek assets, I roll out the van Persie duvet, Granville reveals more than he should about his team lineup and, around all that, we assess the early bandwagons and preview the weekend fixtures.

Forty-five minutes of two blokes talking about the stuff that’s rattling around in most of our heads right now.

    I think FPL Deadline may be a tad worse than giving birth.

        I have watched him play for the Socceroos on many an occasion. He is a hard working player who plays as a defensive mid. He fancies himself with the long-shot and he hit a particularly nice one against Jordan in a world cup qualifier match which hit the crossbar from some distance. He's also a threat from corners and set-pieces with his headers.

      He's miles better than Schurrle.

      He played more pre-season minutes than Oscar.

      He's more likely to be the next Lampard than anyone else on the team except Lampard.

      Mmmph... 1:30 am here and I'm tottering off... I tried convincing myself earlier and couldn't quite get there despite reading every glowing article about him I could find. Being conservative and going with Cech, Hazard & Lukaku for the DGW... though part of me really wants to go Cech, Hazard, KDB.

    Best 4m GK? Anyone expected to start? Currently on Davis.

    Best 4.5m Mid who will play. Only bench fodder, but hope they wont drop in price. Currently on Barkley but he won't play regularly and I already have Mirallas.

      Yeah little to much imo. Your going to want to play 3 in defence ideally which means you'll have at least a 5m defender on the bench each week. I think ivanovic is just as likely to be rotated as terry, both equal goal threats. With the rotation risk I'd go for the cheaper option ie. JT.

      Thanks.

      I still think it's based on that friendly line-up where Hudson and Brayford played in a second string side. I would expect the club captain and player of the season to start. The gaffer has also been touting Brayford as the best RB in the Championship from last season. I don't see why he would spend a lot of money on him, say that then bench him.

          Lambert+Berb seem too risky to begin with. Plus, Fulham's fixtures not the greatest.

          Maybe upgrade one to a 9-9.5, that way it's easier to jump on an early bandwagon (Sturridge, Soldado, Negredo, Tekkers, Giru, etc)

      I dont like Lambert with Osvaldo looking like he is coming in, but at the same time I did not like him last season much as well. But both Lambert and Berba just seems weak.

          Maybe it is just me, but I am really really sold on Soldado- the only nailed on striker on my team. Best conversion rate I have seen on a striker in a while about 4 shots needed per goal. I would try to fit him in somehow.

          But at the same time it is tough to see where you will find the cash, unless you want Anelka.

            I have been wondering about this actually.

            Lambert/Berb > Soldado is on the cards if he hits the ground running, but I am taking the cautious approach from the start.

            Another option is to downgrade Silva (not sure who for) to finance Berbatov > Soldado, but I'm not convinced at the moment. Snoddy or Nolan would probably be the options but I'm not convinced at the moment

                I prefer Nolan to be honest.

                I will mull over Silva > Nolan and Berb > Soldado.

                Silva isn't entrenched into my team and I do fancy Soldado as my punt

      Bit too much invested at the back imo. Kosc is a bridge too far for me. Brayford has all kinds of concerns around him, making him a worry to start with.

      Id rate Coutinho and Michu ahead of Silva, but you have studge, so that rules coutinho out.

      Up front, solid but uninspiring picks. I'm taking a risk averse approach this season, but with selections like that, you may be leading the dullard ranks this year 😉 😀

      I'd consider one of Lukaku or Dzeko over Berbatov.

      My suggestions would be Coutinho instead of silva, dzeko instead of Berbatov and Soldado in for studge, but i'm biased here. But I think that gives you a better balance and more coverage of the top sides.

      Granville's Toure/sir Chesney option will save you a little. Also why not take a gamble on lukaku instead of one of lambert or berbatov? And watch out for brayford. Welsh press believes John has his place. The front line looks a little weak considering its RVP less. I'd like to see soldado there perhaps.

        Toure/Szczesney - been thinking about it and I think the security of Kosc and Migs is worth the extra 0.5m and potential saved transfer(s)

        Lukaku - you know my feelings on that, but I agree I should take a punt somewhere in my attack. Soldado is a recurring theme so maybe him.

        I'm happy Brayford will be first choice RB, although I think you'll find John is just coverage for Taylor at RB

      I don't like Berbatov at all - would have thought you should have one of either Benteke/Lukaku (as per your own advice 🙂 ). Studge Dzeko Benteke a better GW1 lineup for you imo.

    So which is the best 4.0 keeper to go for?

    Is there any that stands even a faint chance of playing? Probably not. If so, which is least likely to drop in price. I guess it's any that is picked by people who know what they are doing, i.e. who don't *expect* him to play and thus won't sell up when he doesn't.

      I think so. Migs and Kos is worth the .5 imo but if you really need it then go for the other pair
