Why do Arsenal need Cabaye
Open Controls-
We have the quality in the CM, but hardly any quanitiy
Arteta and Wilshere are not enough, and Ramsey is hardly top quality...Open Controls

Question: Looks like R. Morrison is going to fall to 4.4m and Lukaku may fall too. Is it worth taking a hit or two to protect team value? I'm hesitant to do it.

Thanks. Pulled an idiotic move last night. Seen Coleman may rise and did Ivanovic -> Coleman without looking at who's expected to fall. Was looking for a rise when I should be worrying about who's falling. Ivanovic is only at like 1.x%. Could of used that FT on Lukaku, ah. Live and learn I suppose.

Lukaku is nowhere near a drop on Fiso.

Will anyone do some analysis on the Bonus Points returns and how they were delivered (i.e. we can see the number of passes completed = points scored etc?)
I looked at the Bonus Points System scores; scored by each player that played > 90 mins
the averages are as follows:
GK - avg 5.3 BPs - Modal Group - 7 pts
DF - avg 4.9 BPs - Modal Group - 6 pts
MF- avg 3.3 BPs - Modal Group - 4 pts
FW- avg 5.4 BPs - Modal Group - 2 pts
So in short that tells me that the most consistent groups of players to pick up the BPs look like they would be defenders / GKs as they have high averages and a good chance of hitting that level as well as Modal is high.
Whilst MFs, are the worst average and a low Modal -
FWs are the most erratic.
Whats also interesting is that the defenders scored so highlight despite only 3 goals coming from Defenders & 3 assists (compared to MF 6 goals & 9 assists).
What I am keen to know is what stats the Defenders are picking up the points on ...
cheers

Great, Well done Moyes! Already lost Thiago Alcantara by being too slow. Ok no worries, you have the whole world to choose from. Come on, be creative!
Who are we linked with? Baines and Fellaini. Jesus Christ, Even that's been rejected..Open Controls -
Looks like Coleman going up 2nite. So ivanovic- Coleman or shaw?
Open Controls -
Is it wise to play the money game or should I focus on points. i.e. I fancy Clyne over Shaw generally, but reckon by next saturday Shaws price could rise by £0.2m - and there are no urgent transfers I need to make at this point. Makes sense to do the transfer no??? I have never took it this seriously before so not sure how people play this.

Best pair:
a) Coutinho + Lambert
or
b) Nolan + Soldado
or
c) Nolan + Sturridge

A great read Tommy!
A question to the Scouts though. I see that Begovic is topping the "Influence"-table at the moment, and Mignolet not far behind. I seldom see goalkeepers this high up on this table, what happened here?
And what determines the Influence-score really? Touches? Passes? Saves?Open Controls-
Saves with saves from shots from inside the box weighted more strongly. Pen saves also contribute of course. Personally, I think Begovic was the best player on show at the weekend - some incredible saves in that game.
Open Controls-
Cheers for the reply Mark.
I agree with you on the Begovic match, truly saved Stoke from an uglier result. A class keeper.
Would have been great if he had gotten some bonus points as well, it's performances like that which really should benefit from bonus points. Like Alex McCarthy for Reading last year against Liverpool.Open Controls

Early captaincy vote:
a) Walcott
b) Giroud
(i expect an arsenal backlash)
c) RvP
d) LambertOpen Controls-
A, from that lot

C).

Ah early door gambling. Noice.

c or d
Open Controls -
a for me. Shots and crosses conceded by Fulham last match is an interesting read.
Also, Richardson left the left side open far too often, figure Walcott will benefit.Open Controls -
RvP probably, maybe Rickie.
I'd want to see a backlash from Gooners before expecting one, FUL tough cookies on their patch. Really hard to judge the mood of Gooners after that showing, I would say merely having Wally/Giroud is gambling enough at this stage.Open Controls -

@podge liked your wife team concept on last page.
doubling up on big team defenders not a bad idea, good chance if one gets bonus they both willOpen Controls -
What if Arsenal loose out on Champions League? They'll be a force to reckon with (fantasy wise) in the league once they get all the injuries sorted out.

What is the cut off scorefor the top 100k, at the moment?
Open Controls -
Arsenal are rapidly becoming a joke.
This trip to Turkey has taken on considerable additional significance.
Is this the end of Wenger?
Welcome to the daily hot topic 🙂Open Controls-
To me and I could be completely wrong but Arsenal don't want to spend the money. They didn't go after Higuain with any conviction and the bid for Suarez was trivial at best. The directors happy with making a profit by qualifying for the Champs League relatively cheaply in comparison to other but they danger is that can catch up with you and theres only so many times you can ride your luck in the battle for fourth or Champs League qualifiers. Also Wenger doesnt know what a defence looks like.

I'd really love to just fall asleep, wake up on 3rd September and go from there. Could be a really difficult couple of weeks for us as teams know we have cash in the bank and are panicking to sign players.. If we actually wanted somebody like Cabaye then I'm sure we'd have got him for less than 15 million if it was earlier in the transfer window but absolutely no chance now.

Bale has been registered as part of the squad to play the Europa League game in Georgia later this week. He will face fitness test later and will feature if proven ok.
Strange if he is practically a Real player as so many claim.Open Controls -
Ahh, I do like these articles. Good work. One thing I would query is...
"The United talisman has instantly reminded us all just what value his 14.0 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) price tag brings"
....not sure "value" is what it brings. Consistency perhaps, but value?Open Controls-
Thanks. Everyone has a value whether it be good or bad 😉

Do the stat tables work for 2013/14 for any of you lot? I can't seem to get it to work, just 2012/13 data loads when I select 2013/14 from the drop down box.
Open Controls -
sorry if this is a really dumb question, i know pretty much nothing about football but really badly need to beat some people i'm in a league with haha.
i'm new to this game this year. can someone just sum up what players prices going up/down means? is it possible to earn more money so you have a bigger budget to spend?Open Controls-
Exactly that. Player prices fluctuate based upon net transfers in/out within the game, so when a player becomes popular (Seamus Coleman is a current example) their price is likely to increase. My advice is not to focus on the price rises at the expense of getting players you want long term though.
Open Controls-
My advice is the opposite. There are times when you have to go with the herd.
Open Controls-
It has to be on a case by case basis - our rules of thumb differ but I wouldn't be surprised if we reached the same conclusions on many occasions despite our different starting points!
Open Controls
-
-
ah ok, i think i get it now, for some reason i thought it would be down to how well they played etc. didnt realise it would be how many people brought that player.
thanks a lot!Open Controls

Yeh if the rise 0.2 you get an extra 0.1 when you sell. After a few months it could be the difference between an 8.0 forward or an 8.5 one
Open Controls-
ok, but if they rise 0.2 why dont u get 0.2? sorry if thats a realllly stupid question ha
Open Controls-
Basically you only get half the profit when you come to sell the player because FPL are stingy like that!
Example:
- You buy a player at 6.0m
- He rises by 0.1
- The value of that player is now 6.1m and this is what would show in your team. However, if you sold him you'd only get 6.0m (they round down the profit)
- He rises by another 0.1
- The value of that player is now 6.2m. Now if you were to sell him you'd receive 6.1m.
(Conversely you suffer all price drops, i.e. if the player dropped to 5.9m you couldn't sell for 6.0m)
This is a good site to monitor when players are likely to rise/fall - http://www.fiso.co.uk/crackthecode.phpOpen Controls
