The final match of Gameweek 1 is almost upon us as Chelsea prepare for the visit of Aston Villa. Both sides arrive in good form, with the Blues easing past Hull at the Bridge on Sunday and Paul Lambert’s side sweeping aside Arsenal at the Emirates the day beforehand.

Jose Mourinho makes just two changes to his previous XI. In a huge surprise up front, it’s Demba Ba who replaces Fernando Torres as the Blues’ lone forward, with Romelu Lukaku once again warming the bench – with a trip to Old Trafford and blank Gameweek 3 to follow, the big Belgian can expect to lose significant numbers of Fantasy owners after this bombshell. Chelsea’s other change is as expected, with Juan Mata returning to the starting line-up after a recent thigh problem – Kevin De Bruyne is the man to drop out, with Mata expected to take up position on the right, leaving Oscar to tuck in behind Ba in a continuation of the 4-2-3-1 formation that started against Hull. Fernando Torres is left out of the squad altogether, after being selected to start on Sunday.

For the visitors, Paul Lambert makes one enforced alteration. Nathan Baker is sidelined with the ankle injury that forced him off at Arsenal, so Ciaran Clark comes in to partner Ron Vlaar in the heart of defence. Andreas Weimann and Gabby Agbonlahor flank Christian Benteke up top, with new boy Aleksandar Tonev warming the bench once again.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom has opened up for tonight’s match to cater for those who like some real-time chatter with their evening’s action.

I decided to use the wildcard and this is the best team I could possibly choose:
    Mignolet (Davis)
    Jagielka Mertesacker Zabaleta (Chester, Ward)
    HBA Walcott Jarvis Snodgrass (Colback)
    RVP Soldado Benteke

    Your thoughs?

OK, there will be a thousands of of questions about Lukaku replacement:

    - Lambert - he'd be most popular choice I guess, but Soton have just signed a new striker - Osvaldo. He may limit Lambo's minutes somehow, but I don't think it is the main "minus" of this. J-Rod or Ramirez to be dropped first IMO. But Lambo's potential can be cut, as Osvaldo will be scoring and assisting.
On the other hand, Lambert should keep his penos and FK duties. And Osvaldo may not jump into the team just like that.

    - Giroud - as Arsenal haven't signed any new striker, he is the obvious nailed on one in the CF position. Plus as we saw tonight, he is on penos now when Arteta out. But Arsenal as a team is a main concern here IMO. Plus most of us have Wally and may not be keen to double ARS attack.

    - Dzeko - he was VERY unlucky not to score vs N'castle. He had 8(!) shots and he was really great in that game. But still there are other class players waiting in the line to get their chances. Especially that Negredo was good for that just couple of minutes and he was denied a right goal. But City is in an amazing form and fixtures are incredibly favourable for them. But will he start? If so, I doubt he will start both Cardiff and Hull games.

    - RvW - Hooper and now Elmander are knocking in the door for the spot. I can see some rotation here unless one of them shows some incredible form.

    - Bony - he has too tough fixtures for me for now. Plus he hasn't even been a starter in the opening game.

Have I missed something or somebody..?

From a few days back, putting me off get a City striker, much like we have been frustrated with Chelsea's strikers. What is your opinion on City strikers? Worth the risk or not worth the risk? Who perhaps is worth the risk?

"‘We have four important strikers, that is why they are here in this squad but we have them for the whole season. I don’t worry who plays tomorrow or next Sunday. We have four strikers because I think we need four strikers. We will see who is the best for each match.

here´s my bias bitter analysis of hazard´s assist.

    THE RULES:

    Rebounds
If a shot on goal is blocked by an opposition player, is saved by a goalkeeper or hits the woodwork, and a goal is scored from the rebound, then an assist is awarded.

    Own Goals
If a player shoots or passes the ball and forces an opposing player to put the ball in his own net, then an assist is awarded.

    INTERPRETATION

A rebound according to the rules is the same if the ball comes off the keeper or the post. In this case we have a rebound no doubt. The rule states "and a goal is scored from the rebound" doesn´t necessarily rules out an own goal.

Now the key factor that determines the assist in an own goal is that the player was forced to put the ball in his own net. In this case the defender was definitely forced to score (by a rebound created by Hazard)

If the keeper is the same as the post in terms of rebounds, then what happens in the typical scenario where the player takes a shot, the ball hits the post and then bounces on the keeper´s back and goes in? Only an own goal with no assist? OR AN OWN GOAL WITH THE ASSIST FOR THE SHOOTER

Would love you to be right. A couple of arguments to the contrary-there were two opposition players who touched the ball that created the own goal-this isn't covered in your synopsis.

The goalkeeper saved the shot-I can see that where this is not good enough i.e. an attacking player then scores then the assist makes sense. However in this case it was a save that then had the misfortune to rebound off a defender. In this case I can see that the assister didn't directly 'create' the goal-it was lady luck...

In terms of rebounds a ball off the post and a save are the same thing. So what happens in your opinion when the ball comes off the bar and hits the keeper´s back and goes in?

It is quite an important precedent.

Common sense tells me that it is exclusively Hazards play that created the goal and so it would seem equitable to give him some credit......

    Foster (Davies)
    Lescott Coleman Shaw (Chester Ward)
    Coutinho Mirallas Hazard Walcott (Puncheon)
    Dzeko Soldado Benteke

I am stumped as to what to change for GWs 3 and 4. Currently thinking

    A) Haz to Hernandez/Shelvey then Soldado to RVP
    B) Haz to Silva and Dzeko to Sturridge/Lambert
