Sunday offers a couple of four o’clock encounters, with City facing a trip to newly promoted Cardiff, alongside a lip-smacking encounter between Europa League rivals, Tottenham and Swansea at the Lane.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side will be looking to build on the fine 4-0 win over Newcastle on Monday to inflict a second defeat on new boys Cardiff. Malky MacKay’s outfit failed to make an impression on the West Ham defence on the opening day but may fancy their chances against a City side without the services of skipper Vincent Kompany.

In North London, Swansea will arrive having suffered a 4-1 home defeat to champions United but boosted by their midweek Europa League victory which saw them put five past their Romanian opponents. They’ll meet a Spurs side also buoyed by five goals in Europe and looking to add to their three points gained at Palace last weekend, a victory that came courtesy of Roberto Soldado’s cooly taken spot-kick. All eyes will be on the Spaniard today as he sports the Fantasy armband for many.

The team news is in and as is follows:

Manuel Pellegrini makes just one change to the team that swept aside Newcastle on Monday evening. The City boss brings in Javi Garcia for the injured Vincent Kompany at the back and keeps faith in Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero up top, with Alvaro Negredo warming the bench once again. Matija Nastasic is fit enough for the subs bench as he steps up his recovery from an ankle injury.

The Bluebirds also make just a single alteration to last week’s team. Andrew Taylor returns at left-back after serving a one-match suspension, with Declan Jon dropping out. Fraizer Campbell leads the line again, though new boy Andreas Cornelius makes the bench after an ankle complaint.

At White Hart Lane, Andre Villas-Boas rolls out a 4-3-3 and hands Etienne Capoue a first start for the hosts alongside Mousa Dembele and Paulinho in central midfield, as Gylfi Sigurdsson shifts to the bench. Andros Townsend replaces the injured Aaron Lennon on the right after impressing in the midweek Europa League win over Dinamo Tblisi.

Michael Laudrup makes a couple of alterations from the side that started against Man United last week. Fit-again Jonathan de Guzman and Pablo Hernandez replace Leon Britton and Nathan Dyer, with the latter remaining sidelined with a hamstring complaint. Michu leads the line again with Jonjo Shelvey ion “the hole”, meaning Wilfried Bony warms the bench once more for the Swans.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and available throughout today’s games for those in search of some real-time chatter as events unfold.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

If Liverpool get Sakho, would he be taking Toure's spot. If so, who would you replace Toure with? I'm thinking maybe Koscielny.

think I want to have a def liverpool cover.

so I'd get a cheaper defender, shaw/clyne? and bring in Mingolet.

But it pretty much depends on the whole team I'd say.

And Koscielny is like the last person coming into my mind... did you see the actual overall score? (-2) And did you see Arsenal def lately?

Sakho wouldn't start straight away, but will probably replace Toure eventually

Koscielny could be a good call, otherwise, Coleman? Dawson?

I've already got Coleman, but Dawson could be a good call. I don't currently have Migs, so would let me upgrade Vorm to Migs to keep 'pool defensive coverage.

yea sounds like a good plan to me.

will keep it in mind thank you (as I'm gonna face the same problem if Toure doesn't play anymore.) 🙂

Of these players, who do you think will rise/fall before the next GW locks?

Hazard, Guly (Already going down), Cameron, Michu, Whittingham, Chester

Note: I'm thinking of transferring out the first 3 for the latter 3 is why I'm asking but want to get the timing of the transfer at the right time if I do it. And I saved a transfer so it would only be -4.

depends. in a low scoring game where there's a clean sheet (and the goal wasn't a midfielder) then yeah.
the city game was high scoring with no clean sheets, the only midfielder to score got bps. all the assisters missed out, not just the midfield ones

    Evening chaos.

I'm doing Coutinho -> Javis as I'm doing Soldado -> RVP next week.

Should I do Hazard -> Silva for -4 as well?

I've done Hazard to Silva for a hit myself. Its because long term anyway I think Hazard is now unviable option with Willian coming in, so the blank just made my decision easier. I would suggest taking a look at Whittingham instead of Jarvis though...

I don't see spurs scoring against arsenal, in fact I think they look very offensively bland considering all the signings they made.

Its tough. You can look at it two ways.

      1) Dzeko subbed today, will start Saturday
      2) Dzeko subbed today, and pellegrini easing negredo in, and will start him vs hull with dzeko on the bench.

Imo, Dzeko looked better than aguero today BUT dzeko and negredo are similar players, therefore dzeko is more likely to be rotated at the moment.

was planning Hazard out for Michu, but am now concerned about Dzeko's chance of starting GW3.
Which is best in your opinion?
    a) hazard to Michu, play 3-5-2
    b) Dzeko to Lambert, play 4-4-2

Think I got away with one today given that I had no City or Spurs players. Currently sitting on 43 with RVP(C) and Hazard to come.

    Hazard > Nolan
    Anelka > Dzeko

    Boruc (Foster)
    Collins Coleman Toure (Chester Baker)
    NOLAN Coutinho Walcott Mirallas (Morrison)
    RVP DZEKO Lambert

    Thoughts?

hmmmm, you mean in team value or how much you make from bringing in all the risers (even the ones you don't want) and then ditch them after they rise by 0.2 and get in the players you do want at the end of the week?

Looking at fixtures and likely bandwagons, transfers in for GW 4 then 0.5 should be possible....
