As another Gameweek edges towards its conclusion, we handpick the standout statistics over Saturday and Sunday’s nine Premier League fixtures. Andre Villas-Boas’ shift to 4-3-3 brings a Tottenham new boy onto our radar, a certain Saints frontman catches our attention, City’s midfield schemer offers goal promise, while a trio of Everton’s assets also make the cut:

Repost : Do you think David Levy is stringing out the Bale deal so that it leaves less time for other prem clubs to hunt the likes of Benzema, Di Maria etc ? By other prem clubs Arsenal would top the list
Open Controls-
I think he's waiting for Spurs to bring in Attacking targets.
Also trying to keep down the price he's paying for themOpen Controls -

Chelsea v United. Difficult to know what to think. Looking at previous meetings there seems to be an above average amount (http://www.chelsea-mad.co.uk/head_to_head/chelsea/vs/manchester_united/index.shtml) of goals. PL average is around 2.8 which works out to less than a 2-1 result, last two editions of this fixture at Stamford Bridge finished 2-3 and 3-3. May be relevant though that in both refereeing decisions played a big part, with the Chelsea red in the former and the two United penalties in the latter.
Think it's a game that can begin as a stalemate with two five man midfields stifling the game, then burst into action at both ends when the first goal goes in (which it should, only three Prem 0-0s in 42 meetings).
Over 3.5 goals looks OK at 15/8 but gotta feel Mourinho might keep it super tight, tighter than Di Matteo anyway. Plus Moyes was infamous for doing a defensive job on top teams and Everton gave Chelsea tight games last season. Over 2.5 ain't attractive at 8/11.
Bookies seem to know this fixture really well with first half having most goals at 21/10 and second half at evens.
All in all 11/5 for the draw, a cagey one, doesn't look bad at all. RVP score but Chelsea win at 12/1 on PP also looks like super value, as well as obviously their RVP scoring money back special.
Definitely hedging my fantasy omissions with cheeky anytime goalscorer punts on RVP, Haz, Ivan, Lamps and Lukaku. Got a big feeling Lukaku will start. Good luck all!Open Controls -
Not really planning on WCing after GW3, but if I did I'd probably go with something like this...
Migs Lewis
Walker Toure Coleman Ward Chester
Walcott Lampard Mirallas Brady JWP
RVP Sturridge Benteke
I'd like Vert in there but getting Walker would allow you Lamps instead of a 7m mid, which I would prefer...Open Controls-
I am going Lambo instead of Sturridge (his injury record puts me off) and Cout in midfield. I might go with Lamps too

real pressure at Terry and Lampard today
top fpl manager FORCA INTER have them in his team and if they dont preform they will be out of his team

Man United versus Chelsea score predictions chaps?
I'm genuinely going to say 2-0 Chelsea 😀Open Controls -
Does anyone have the breakdown of this seasons' BPS for defenders, mids and fwds?
Open Controls-

That was just this GW though, right?

"Of the 68 bonus points handed out thus far, 40 have gone to defenders, 20 to strikers and just a measly 8 points for the midfielders. Wow!"
Open Controls -
🙂 this could go on a while
Open Controls-
😉
Open Controls

For all this lack of chances malarky, Soldado has the highest cumulative BPS score so far with 23*...
*United game still to be played obviously...Open Controls

Anybody think we could have a Rooney masterclass tonight?

Only those who are bananas ... 😉

the bonus stat doing the rounds is just a gameweek 2 stat btw
a gameweek where there have been just 17 goals in 9 matches, 7 clean sheets in 9 matches. just 4 midfielder goals in 9 matches: Brady 3bps, Gunnarsson 2bps, Giaccerini 1bp, Adam 0bps.
in the 2 high scoring matches the bps have gone to all strikers and gunnarsson.
in the low scoring matches they've gone to the player who got the only goal and defenders who either scored (fonte & shawcross), assisted (huth, enrique) or got clean sheets. there's 1 exception, lovren got 1bp with nothing. his game however was one with no clean sheets and 2 goals where the scorers got rewarded and one of the assisters too.
all in all what do you expect?
little changes we've noticed last week, (mainly centering around the 3 points for 30+ passes at 90+% accuracy which defenders, expecially centre backs get much more easily) have been exaggerated by 6 of the 9 matches this gameweek being very low scoringOpen Controls-
Whats changed is the big hitting mids are failing and the BPS is being blamed
Open Controls-
Hardly any goals. A goal is worth a fair bit for a mid in BPS.
Open Controls
-
-
When defenders are passing among themselves, it contributes to bps?
Open Controls-
Yep. Its quite an influential factor actually
Open Controls -
yeah, once you reach 30 pases for the match you get 3 of the points which count towards bps for 90%+ accuracy. defenders are normally able to pass to a free teammate close to them, especially playing against sides who only play 1 striker

Great post. Lies, damn lies and statistics!
Open Controls -
excellent applebonkers!
Open Controls -
The thing to take away from it so far should be that it's VERY hard to get points out of a game without scoring or being a defender with a CS.
The group left out in the cold is assisting midfielders, which is why I don't really rate Silva as an option in the long term. Goalscoring mids will still do well, but there are fewer prolific mids around than last year (because they're signing for Madrid or are no longer OOP).Open Controls -
if low scoring matches mean more bps for defender and keepers that's surely a good thing. no more 3bps for carlton cole farting 2 shots at the keeper in a 0-0
Open Controls-
Yes - this is one positive outcome. However defenders are pretty much getting credited every time they kick the ball. If they pass sideways to a teammate, they're credited - if they hoof the ball out of defence it's a clearance, so they're credited again. A defender can look pretty innocuous all game and still end up with 3 BPs.

62 with Hazard and Cole left.
Would gladly take a 1-0 Chelsea or 0-0 🙂Open Controls-

anyone debating hanging onto hazard? price fall or not i dont see the sense in ditching him for one week when the guy imo is a season keeper and it saves a lot of hassle trying to squeeze him back in..
Open Controls-
Season keeper imo
Open Controls-
good lad
Open Controls -
Open Controls

Under anyone but Mourinho, yes.... plenty of shut-up-shops coming this season for Chelsea.
Open Controls-
once the games are put to bed yes...
Open Controls
-
-
-
but he will be rotated once the Champions League comes around, he ain't a season keeper imo
Open Controls -
I'm doing Hazard > Nolan and not getting in Hazard until his better fixtures
Open Controls -
-
hazard more prone to rotation than hazard u reckon? very doubtful imo
Open Controls-
Both are first choice players but carry rotation risk due to the midfielders Chelsea have. At his age Lampard will probably miss more league games but expect this to be made up through better scores. He offers the most threat and has penalties, free kicks and corners as well. Not to mention the 1.5m saving, Lampard's a bargain.

Ok i am in a awkward situation. I have Ivan and Haz but want Man U to win as a supporter, without RVP getting a goal or an assist. Is this possible
Open Controls -
Anyone have the distribution, in integer form, of the baps scored by the grouped categories forwards, midfielders, and defenders?
Open Controls -
Robin of Locksley will show us tonight why he cost 14 bilion dolares 🙂 🙂

Open Controls

Completed this midfield for me please!
Walcott - Hazard - Mirallas - Bellamy - ?
5.0 in bank for 5thh mid - Ward Prowse?
Could sell Bellamy as well for -4...

First sell Mirallas and his golden Bently Continental GT 🙂
and then buy Taarabt and you will have money for SnoodyOpen Controls

the lambert stat is obviously promising (or agonising too, empathetic dzeko owner from gw1 here). my only worry would be it's not a good sign for a striker to be spurning chance after chance when they've just bought osvaldo.
there's a bit more pressure on him now, and less margin for error too. he could get away with the odd wasteful game last season as he was still the relative class act in that side. ward-prowse emerging would also make thing more nervy for him as it would potentially shut a 2nd striker door which gaston ramirez has so far been leaving open by not being able to cement a placeOpen Controls-
Right on the money, AB. 🙂
