The only thing more shocking than Miley Cyrus’ VMA performance this week was that Fraizer Campbell scored a brace against City and notched up a huge points haul. That result raised more eyebrows than Miley ever could. Luckily for managers with City men littered throughout their squads, it really should be business as usual this week.

According to Paddy Power’s odds, five of the six most likely players to score over the Gameweek wear City’s sky blue. Great news if you can get a couple of them in your squad, but bleak reading if you’re without City cover, or, indeed a Hull City Tigers fan.

Sergio Aguero is the hot favourite at 1/2 with Paddy to find the net at anytime. He’s likely to be partnered by Edin Dzeko, who is 5/6 to notch: the duo have already opened their Premier League accounts and appear to be Manuel Pellegrini’s favored strike partnership, with Alvaro Negredo is kept on the leash, at least for now.

Robin van Persie disappointed many after drawing a blank against Chelsea but that will quickly be forgiven if he scores against Liverpool on Sunday: an anytime goal is evens with Paddy. It’s also worth noting that Paddy are refunding losing bets (First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles) if the Anfield clash ends all-square.

Either side of Van Persie in the betting we find further City players. David Silva has a goal and an assist to his name already this season and is 6/5 to find the net at anytime against Hull – the top ranked midfielder on show in the Gameweek. The aforementioned Negredo has played just 31 minutes of Premier League football but opened his account at Cardiff and is odds-on at 5/6 with Paddy Power to register again on Saturday.

Olivier Giroud has notched two goals in consecutive league outings this season and makes the list of top 10 most likely players to score. All 13 of his Premier League goals have come in London and, if you follow that bizarre trend, Giroud at 6/4 with Paddy to score at anytime against Spurs looks decent. If that derby ends in a draw, Paddy Power will also refund your losing bets (First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles).

Behind Silva, Swansea’s Michu is the most fancied anytime scorer from midfield with Paddy offering 17/10 on a strike at the Hawthorns. Arsenal’s Theo Walcott is at 21/10 to register against Spurs, with West Ham’s Kevin Nolan just behind the Gunners man and Yaya Toure at 9/4 to get on the scoresheet against the Potters.

Hull are yet to score from open play this season and Manchester City had the best defensive record at home in the top flight last term. That, in a nutshell, is all you need to know when it comes to picking out a likely clean sheet this weekend. If you’re nursing any City defenders in your squad after Sunday’s setback, at least you’ll be confident in them keeping a shut-out this time around; they’re at 4/6 with Paddy Power.

West Ham are hard to break down at Upton Park, and they square up to a Stoke side that scored just 13 on the road last term. The Hammers are 7/5 to keep Mark Hughes’ men out on Saturday afternoon in what looks set to be a muscular war of attrition.

The biggest revelation on show in these odds is perhaps Newcastle and Crystal Palace being amongst the top five. The pair have just one Premier League point between them but are 9/5 and 2/1 respectively with Paddy Power to record a shut-out in the Gameweek. The Toon Army welcome Fulham to St James’ Park and Palace host a Sunderland side that have won just one of the last eight league games on their travels.

That was when he was at the 'best club in the world'

''I have no interest in signing for Chelsea because I am in the best club in the world,'' said Eto'o.

''They lost their opportunity to sign me a year ago and now they do not have any possibility.

''Never will I sign for a team trained by Mourinho. He wrecked things completely with his behaviour surrounding the two games between our sides.

''I insist Barca boss Frank Rijkaard is the better coach despite however many titles the Portuguese has won.

''Now my dream is to play Chelsea again because I have many things to resolve with them.

''I am a better player than Didier Drogba and Mourinho knows that, and I am going to score more goals than Henry.''

Can someone tell me why you think negredo is likely to start ahead of dzeko?

Is it based in anything that has been said?

Pellegrini has repeatedly said dzeko and aguero are his first choice so I wonder why there is such a vocal crowd suggesting otherwise. Maybe I missed an interview since then?

I'm wondering whether to captain him especially with this article pointing out he is odds on to score. He has been truthful so far. I have a feeling people are assuming pellegrini and Mancini are equally full of it, but I'm not so sure.

i dont think negredo will start tbh. but the fact that dzeko was subbed off for negredo(who then scored) worries me. dzeko owner here!
but I feel dzeko will score either way!

I don't own Dzeko, but completely baseless.

Educated guessing that the guy might get a run out in a home game against a weak club I guess.

nothing's been said, so Dzeko still fave until he doesn't start

Nope. It's just an assumption based on how he was used last season, I think, which FPL towers seem to share if you look at how they've priced the players. It stands to reason that they'll be some rotation at some point but as to when and who I've no idea.

Really struggling this week ladies, could do with some thoughts. Team's looking a bit weak, having to play 442 thanks to some injuries and blank gameweek.

    Migs
    Lescott, Coleman, Collins, Shaw
    Coutinho, Kim, Mirallas, Wanyama
    Soldado (C) Dzeko

    Bentekkers, Hazard, K Toure

Already took a hit with Ivanovic and Kompany.

Worth a wildcard to sort the team or weather the storm?
