The Gameweek sparks into life at the Etihad for a fixture that could well provide rich returns. Man City’s encounter with newly promoted Hull looks a one sided affair, a fixture that offers Fantasy managers points at both ends, obvious captaincy options and the opportunity to establish a mini-league swing before the rest of the Premier League kick a ball.

Of course, the reality could be far different. City’s shock defeat at Cardiff offered a reminder as to how the promoted teams can disrupt the established thinking. Steve Bruce, as an experienced campaigner, will be turning up at City with a game plan; it remains to be seen if that will be enough to inflict another setback on Manuel Pellegrini’s men.

The team news finds the City boss make two notable changes to the lineup that suffered defeat in Wales. Matija Nastasic makes his first start of the season in the heart of the defence in place of Javi Garcia, as expected. However, Gael Clichy also makes way: he’s relegated to the bench with Aleks Kolarov given the nod at left-back. Edin Dzeko partners Sergio Aguero in attack once again, with Alvaro Negredo remaining benched. Stevan Jovetic makes his first appearance amongst the subs as he builds his fitness.

Visitors Hull are forced into one change: with Yannick Sagbo suspended, Danny Graham earns a recall to the starting XI having been relegated to the bench for the victory over Norwich.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom is open for this first match and they’ll be a further post prior to the three o’clock kick-offs bringing you the significant team news from those encounters.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Never quite understood all the hype surrounding Silva, Dzeko and Aguero.

Have to say Zabaleta was always the City player to captain.

Halsey revealing that Dowd often failed his fitness test and shirked training due to his weight (he's since lost the weight). Even so, bit unfair - nobody needed to know that stuff - surely not what BT pay him to reveal.

Before the season started, Silva was the player that assisted the assister, then after the first game of the season, he was essential...

Now after being subbed off in the 3rd game, we are all selling him again...

Stop making transfers, you will get more points.

People on here are so fickle.

Dzeko starts and everyone is going on about "Dzeko hatrick coming up"

He was terrible against Cardiff, Negredo was itching for time so it was expected. Silva is nailed on, creating chances and if you even do a comparison tool of Dzeko and Silva, there's your answer....

I own Silva and Dzeko, had a feeling Dzeko would start but wanted to play the safer option with Silva. More time on the pitch means more time to potentially get more points...

The trout of reason. I have Silva and was close to getting Dzeko. There are too many other quality nailed on players to get him though.

Let's not forget the chances he missed against Newcastle too. Same old story with him - frustration

If he gets the points, then happy days because he only costs 7.5,but he's not worth gambling a captaincy on. Use more nailed on and consistent players for that. But it's all hindsight I guess

Negredo might be warming up, but Negredo and Dzeko are a similar kind of striker. Pellegrini presumably only bought Negredo just to keep the pressure on Dzeko, or because he thought he was better. Yet he started Dzeko. Bringing Negredo on wouldn't be much of a tactical change. Scratching my head really.

If creation is the problem would seem bizarre to sub him off. Seems unlikely Aguero would be subbed off too, he's untouchable.

Tevez would have been the man for this match. Tenacious and enough quality to make the difference. He'd run those well drilled defenders out of position and open up spaces.
