      no you don't

all the int'l break WC'ers would be picking him up then

Good point but I'm not risking Sturridge unless we get the all clear. May take a hit for RVP

Terry worries me as I think in the format you need nailed on in all comps covered by Dream Team and the super cup suggested to me he wasn't 1st choice.

Haz. Achilles worries me. In fact all Chelsk bothers me atm.

I'm sticking with Negredo over Ag but that is tight.
I'm dumping Ramsey in favour of Caz /Oz this is a tough one.

Definitely stick with Negredo. He will beast it this season.

So Terry, Ramsay and Hazard to go?

            Whats that.. £5m, £2.5m and £6.5m = £14m

            Nice budget. Who's in mind?

Well like I said for Ars ditching Ramsey (thanks) for Caz or Oz=headbang!

switching to 433 from 442 bringing in Agbon.

Thats all I'm sure of atm. Your thoughts?

going 442 is brave with the Sun. They love a goal scorer so definitely do that.

Ozil was 5.5 if i remember correctly, thats still 9.5 to replace a defender and a mid/str right?

                Benteke @ 5.5 (beast)
Walker @ 4 (nailed on for spurs and they have plenty of fixtures with cups included)

That would be a decent move in my opinion.
Chelsea players could yet come good but i know what you mean, when there is no bench, you don't want doubts.

Been there with my thinking funny enough Walker/Evra always love attacking defenders.

Benteke is a beast but his unsung sidekick keeps reeling me in as the beast often drifts left and will find the ball busting boy bander on many occasions. (my diff.)

As a villa fan, I'd say Tekkers is the safe option. He's uber consistent.

Gabby is in fine form and yes, demolishing that little 1D knobhead was class, but as a source of points and goals he has never been consistent enough to bear consideration next to Benteke.

I hope he serves you well if you do take a punt on Gabby. He is undoubtedly talented (and fast a funk).

I've been toying with those two (probably gambling on Lamela too).

Ended up rejigging for Evra in that spot but i had settled on Walker beforehand. Better fixtures and he'll mainly be combining with the Punt himself, who loves an end product - which i guess mades this a punt and a half.

Personally I would be more concerned about Hazards achilles as that can be problematic.
And the Belgium peeps were surprised to hear he had pain killing injections into the area. ( research)

Can't seem to settle on my team. Particularly the DF + MF. I'm pretty set on my front 3 for a few GWs.

    At the moment I'm on:

    Mignolet (4.0)
    Ivanovic, Mertesacker, Coleman (4.0, 4.0)
Walcott, Coutinho, Lampard, Ben Arfa (4.5)
    Giroud, Soldado, Benteke

Changes I've toyed with have been:

    Ivan > Evra
    Mert > Koscielny
    Arfa > Hernandez (+ a 4.0 DF to Collins)

So what do you think of the team and should I stick or twist?

I'd do the Ivan > Evra. United have better fixtures, and whoever they use on the left will cut inside giving him room to bomb forward and put crosses in.

      Mert/Kos, flip a coin really.

I'd stick with HBA and the 4.0

        Thanks for the input.

I just feel more convinced by Ivan's attacking potential than Evra's. And I'd decided I wanted two attack minded DF and one bonus magnet in my 3.

I think I'll keep what I have except flip Mert to Kosc since I save 0.1 then and can easily upgrade either Benteke or Soldado to Sturridge at some point, if I feel it necessary.

Makes sense. For me personally I've gone for Evra. His place isn't going to be under threat from Buttner or Fabio, whereas Ivan has a genuine quality threat from Azpilicueta (who incidentally is on my watchlist, will be an absolute gem should Ivan get injured).

I feel like I'm completely missing the point here. I have 4 expensive mids, and everyone seems to be playing 5-2-3.

Am I doing it wrong? Or are a lot of people going to be wanting a second WC by Sunday night?

Nope, going for majority expensive mids too. I want maybe 2 bigger defenders and cheapies that can rotate with them. Then hoping to have a middle of Wally, Ozil, Lamela, 7.0, 4.5-5.

Will see how the prices work out 😉 I think you're going the right way overall.

I have Ozil, Wally, Coutinho and HBA. I might stretch to getting a United defender alongside Cole, but I had my 4 nicely rotating cheapies to last me until December and I don't want to disrupt my plan!

My only true concern is Coutinho, that's based on years watching him. Ah I understand, I usually rely on the cheapies but have decided that 2 expensive (ish) ones add a bit of security.

The way i see the expesive mids scenario is, that, i'd prefer middle rang mids....because:

If you had like Silva, Coutinho, Hazard ect.... they all play for big teams, yes every other week one of them will do something - but these big teams have so many attacking options that in actual fact it's a lottery who actually scores the goal.

More of steady points income to go with e.g. Ben Arfa, Sessegnon, Brady, Ward-Prowse as it would be to go with Silva, Coutinho, Hazard, Lamela.

However, i do feel Walcott is essential for any Fantasy Team.

defenders will score more pts this season as they will be on for baps whenever there is a CS even when goals were scored. 5 at the back is too much but going for a stronger backline than usual is suggested. I for one plan to rotate my defenders with my 2 weak mids

I thought the same until I saw Lambert's detailed match stats.....heavily involved, and superior to Sturridge in terms of shots and touches in the area.

Can see Coutinho racking up points in the number 10 role, as well.....

      Food for thought.

Re: My £19.4m, 3 mid question on the previous page. I've decided I'm going to:

Wait for Pablo (drafted him in at start of week on my WC) to reach £6.2m, at which point I'll have £19.5m with which to get:

    Lamela 9.0
Brady 5.0 (got him at start of week)
    Arnautovic 5.5

Arnautovic is a punt, but hopefully he'll be OOP (has been given #10 shirt). I'll probably have him as a sub for GW4 & GW5 anyway. He's got such a low ownership % that if he doesn't do much, his price won't be affected.

    So my midfield will be:

Walcott - Ben Arfa - Lamela - Brady (Arnautovic)

For GW4, probably Chester (home to cardiff).

Ordinarily I'd play him, but I'll be dropping Mignolet for McGregor, and rather than double up I'm going for Coleman v Chelsea for his attacking threat. Benched him in GW1 because I didn't think Everton would keep a CS away to Norwich. I was right, but wasn't banking on him getting a goal and assist! 🙂

like i was saying earlier, these are the games where your bench can come into play and if the fixture is good for your benchman, you can relax on a little punt in your lineup.

I really hope Lamela comes good. Midfield is such a minefield right now with only Walcott looking essential.

Phenomenal talent. Still, I'd like to see how he holds up in EPL before I can accept him as the greatest of all time. There would be a lot less goals, that's for sure.

I've spent a fair amount today giving opinions on all these WC's. Thought I'd give one a try. My actual team is linked on my profile but I had a play and came up with the following. Should I be staring at 3 potential no shows Saturday morning of GW4 I might just be tempted!

    Cech +4
    Coleman - Collins - Agger - Cahill - Burner
    Walcott - Coutinho - Barkley - WP - Ravel
    Benteke - RVP - Giroud

    .1 in the bank.

The idea in theory is that I can play 4-3-3 or 3-4-3.

Too light in the middle? Could downgrade Cech and get Brady.

Yeah...we'll see. Hopefully 2 out of the 3 injuries I'm carrying in the team will be passed fit and I will know in time and I can just use my FT and save my wildcard...though really I should count on my bench...getting a little WC envy 🙂 Cheers for your reply.

ravel is too punty considering you have barkley and WP too, who are not quite nailed on.

cech in goal is a great shout though. only safe way into the chelsea defence

True, he's been one of my punts from the start. Easy enough to get him back in if he begins to start. Cech is lumpy but as you say the only real route in but I do fancy Cahill to see a lot of game time this season. Thanks for sharing your opinion mate!

evans, jones, smalling will all get game-time at centre-back. rio and vidic are too old/injury prone to play all the games, especially with champions league coming up

This US open final has been pretty awesome! Allowing me to stay up and think about transfers for a bit longer, so would you do:

    Hazard > Walcott for a -4 hit?

Will probably wait until the pressers as my team has been dropping like flies in this international break, have so far gone without Walcott as Giroud has been covering it well for me and ive no idea about the extent of Hazards injury.

definitely hold fire but if you are struggling for a decent 11 then this is probably the best move you can make.

Walcott is the only standout Mid so far, imo,
